    If only there was a Landscape Photographer of the Year contest to enter these images in!!!!
    Brilliant shots Stuart, and don't feel guilty about getting those conditions, they made up for some of the many less than ideal condition shoots that you must endure. Cracking stuff👍👍👍

    Very, very beautiful photos, Stuart, thank you ever so much for taking me with you to Glen Affric in winter. The pictures I like most: the second one with the frost coated trees and the one with the beautiful coloured chaotic branches and ferns. And if something is really stunning it needs someone to name it…

    The first image of the "abstract rocks" is brilliant along with the "spider tree" It's hard to believe that the last image is real because of the difference in the light. Awesome job again. Some might say, "Stunning"

    Well Stuart ! Those images were just STUN........ beautiful ! What a location and the conditions just showed it at its best . All credit to you, and your mate, its not cheating, like you said, when you put in the effort regularly and only occasionally are you rewarded with such conditions and you still have to come up with the images to show it off, and you certainly did this here. 6:19 9:26 14:13 17:03 and the final image at 20:34 all deserve to be called STUNNING . Hope your well, take care mate.

    Stuart I think you are one of the best landscape photographers out there. Your work is quality in every sense, and exquisitely composed. I really enjoy watching your videos, I hope you get the traction on UA-cam you deserve. There's many other bigger channels on here that don't produce the level of images you produce so I hope you keep making videos so I can follow your work and learn from your expertise. I'm an amateur and do landscape photography as a hobby in my spare time, I rely on UA-cam somewhat to learn from professionals and observe how they compose shots etc, and I feel like I've found a real hidden gem in your channel. All the best mate, and thanks for sharing your work, it's absolutely stellar.

We started the last week of the course dumped in Glen Affric (alone) and had to navigate our way to Fort Augustus. • @StuartMcGlennon
      @StuartMcGlennon  8 місяців тому +1

      It’s bizarre it’s not been added in firmware, really quite odd as it’s just some black bars

    • @davothedon
      @davothedon 8 місяців тому

      There is a square framing guide in the settings, I believe. It's not quite the same as a crop, but it can give you an idea.

    • @pascalhibon7928
      @pascalhibon7928 8 місяців тому

      @@davothedon Yes, it's called Image Area and I have it setup under a function button. However, this feature is a destructive crop and the ratios are very limited (16:9 and 1:1). I agree with Stuart that a non-destructive crop would be very easy to implement by Nikon. And they can easily add more ratios. Interesting ratios for me personally are 16:9, 1:1, 3:4, 5:4, 3:2. Nikon could even through in a user definable one.

    • @davothedon
      @davothedon 8 місяців тому

      @pascalhibon7928 Sorry, I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing.
      Note, this is on my Z9 (I'm assuming your menu will be similar):
      > Custom Settings Menu > Shooting/Display > Grid Type.
      You can select a few different grids to appear on your rear LCD or your EVF, one of which is a square. This will allow you to capture the entire sensor readout, but you can use the square to guide your composition.
      As I said, this isn't quite the same as an in camera crop as you'll have to do it later in post. But it can certainly help you in the field should you want to do a square composition. However, it would be nice if Nikon offered an option to capture both the crop and the full image at the same time.

    • @pascalhibon7928
      @pascalhibon7928 8 місяців тому

      @@davothedon This feature is probably unique to the Z9 (and maybe Z8). Just checked on my Z6II and Z50: no Grid Type menu. My D850 has a Viewfinder Grid Display feature but that is probably not the same.

    • @StuartMcGlennon
      @StuartMcGlennon  8 місяців тому +1

      Cheers fella - I must say I think this pocket 3 is so good I’m selling my little Fuji x-s10 as I’ve no real need for it anymore. The 1 inch sensor upgrade from the previous version makes a huge difference, the other one while good still looked a little like a mobile phone. For other bits of b-roll that require zooming I’ll use the big camera. Low light tests in YT reviews look very good also
