@@Bri_l Thanks so much for your interest! We're working on expanding to Canada, so hopefully, it’ll be available soon. 😊 Out of curiosity, how do people in your area feel about smart bidet toilets? Would love to hear your thoughts!
That walnut!!! Omgoodness! I've said it before... I'll surely say it again... your creativity and style is absolutely fantastic, and I love how beautiful this place is after your family finishes each room. But as a whole, the house is becoming more gorgeous with each one.
Is there a spring mechanism that you can use for the cabinet drawers so you can give a push/tap motion to open? That would be good for not messing up the visual beauty of the wood. Cool, parents!
Sorry girls did a recent make over with some nice walnut handles, from Kelsey’s home renovation. Also some simple walnut dowel knobs or slightly tapered knobs would look nice. As usual Andrew you and your parents cover every detail.
OMG! I love the sleekness of this bathroom so far! One of the most important issues for me is the ease of cleaning. With everything looking so streamlined, not a bunch of fussy stuff, this looks like cleaning it will not be such a daunting chore. Great job, so far! The faucet is gorgeous! I also admire how your parents are so detail-oriented. Some people just slap stuff together - not you guys!
Hi Andrew love the bathroom! The house is looking amazing, but I have to admit being a maker myself that your studio is my favorite. I worked as a draftsman for a custom cabinet maker for 17 years I really enjoy seeing you reuse and reinvent all the vintage cabinetry. As far as pulls for your vanity , I would personally pick something black with brass accents so they tie together your faucet and your light fixtures. I think you need pulls otherwise the vanity looks unfinished to me. A long one across the hamper door would look awesome!
You did a wonderful job creating a very stylish-looking bathroom! Your HOROW toilet is sooooo futuristic and fancy...I have to admit that I have toilet envy.
Thanks so much for the kind words! We’re really happy to see how Andrew's creativity brought the whole space together, and we’re glad HOROW's smart toilet could be a part of it! 😊
@@nataliemarshall7158 Toilet envy wasn’t something we ever expected to be a thing either, but smart toilets have that effect! 😄 It's definitely one of those upgrades that’s hard to resist!
Regarding the polishing of quartz: There's some kind of polish available that contains stone meal (marble, I think) in it. It's like the baking soda principle, but stronger and not basic ("alkaline"). I don't know the name though..
Crafters say that isopropyl alcohol helps keep silicone from sticking to things - for example they dip their fingers in the alcohol then use their fingers to shape the silicone.
I just love your style and the combination of modern and vintage looks. That toilet is slick! When I had the opportunity to live in Japan about 20 years ago, the toilets were all kind of like this one, and it's honestly one of the things I talked about WAY TOO MUCH to my American friends. I'm glad that these are now getting more standard here in the US, because they're definitely a luxury that is worthwhile, because it's used everyday.
Also, cool hearing Andrew's Mom's opinion on the cabinet flipping directly from her. I know your parents aren't all that camera-hungry, but it really underscores how much y'all stylistically collaborate as well as work together on these projects.
OMG, I need to stop commenting as the video goes. What about a routed indent in your cabinets for handles, instead of pulls? You could set the router to not-quite-through the walnut, so you'd keep the woodgrain pattern, and it'd blend in and stand out at the same time?
I thought it looked good with that simple black metal handle you were using as a placeholder. You could use something like that, just trace the shape of it onto the top edge of the door and carefully chisel or use a router or dremel with a depth gauge to carve out a space, so the top of the handle sits flush with the top of the door and/or drawer front, and that solves your "no room for hardware" issue. I think it would look good with your black faucet. Although.... Leather handles?
Amazing job!!!! So inspiring! I would love to see you use a Finger Pull / Finger edge style handle for the vanity. To me it’s already such a beautiful piece, the more minimal the better!
the sorry girls did a vanity with homemade wooden handles/bar that looked really good with the wood grain/mid modern look! perhaps paint the exposed edge a black or same grey as the walls?
Hi Andrew. Love the revamped vanity. Every time I had seen it in other videos, I kept wondering what you were going to do with it. My first thought about drawer pulls was to incorporate some of the gold you've splashed around the room in light fixtures, but then you installed the black faucet, and I thought maybe black would look good. For sure the black would pop on the wood finish of the vanity. Can't wait to see the final reveal.
I really love the no handles look with your cabinet. As for polishing stone I think you can get a certain blade and use it on an angle grinder if you have. Dremel tools also have attachments to grind/polish stone. Woo hoo! Looking good!
That walnut wrap is amazing! I can't believe you found that for $30! Your parents are so sweet for doing this with you, and it seems like they're enjoying every step. I love that for you.
Make sure your laundry insert is divided for sorting lights, darks, whites .... You'll thank me later!.lol 😁 Also, while maybe my choice is boring, I vote for matching the handle hardware to the faucet colour. I know, I know, some might say blah blah bland, but over time it may be more loved than wood and more durable for a wet bathroom. ( my 2 cents). Btw, you are so blessed to have your parents assistance. Love them well as they are a treasure! ❤
Holy Smokes! You all never miss! What an amazing transformation, so many clever ideas and beautiful craftsmanship. I love watching your ideas come to life!❤
So so so good! Love all the elements of this bathroom - the tones, warmth from the ceiling, the hidden storage and that custom vanity. I’ve commented before and I will comment again - what can’t you and your parents do?!
Looking so wonderful! Can't wait for the next part ❤ RE the handles - if this were my bathroom I'd probably go for some simple & elegant brass knobs. Mainly because I love brass 😂 but also because you opted for a black faucet I think small brass knobs would tie in the brass from the light fixtures but also break up the darkness from the walls and vanity to the really light floors!
Walnut pulls would look lovely. Lee Valley Tools has some really nice solid walnut pulls and knob options. I used them for a dresser and they are beautiful and quite affordable.
Black hardware that matches the black faucet could help to balance the black color. My initial thought was gold hardware to match the other gold features, but that might look strong with the black faucet. The bathroom is turning out so good! Can’t wait to see the final reveal!
You definitely need a handle on there, I think black would be good to match your tap/faucet as there isn’t any other black in there or perhaps a handle that goes across the width to hang a hand towel on?
I recommend some type of 'no show' pulls if you like them, they keep a sleek line! If not, black cup bin pulls would match the aesthetic of the faucet! 😊
Use windex when using silicone. Spray it after you apply it. This keeps the silicone from sticking to additional surfaces. You can also spray your finger.
Consider cherry handles, as it ages, the walnut will lighten, and the cherry will darken and looks quite sharp, plus fits in with your art deco inspiration. Cabinet came out stunning
I love that you match baseboards to the walls! I’ve never understood why you would want to draw the eye there. The vanity looks great, I’m planning something similar for my kitchen. Not a big fan of pulls and handles so I’m planning to undercut the drawer and door fronts so handles won’t be necessary. Keep it up.
I love how the vanity turned out and also really like the look without hardware. Is it possible to install the push to open drawer slides so hardware isn't necessary? Can't wait to see the finished room.
Love this idea. I had planned to do this on the upper drawers at least… but it means the doors have to sit out further and won’t be flush with the rest of the pieces 😔
The vanity turned out fantastic! It’s so much harder to retrofit an existing item than to build from scratch and you guys make it look so easy. I’m green with envy. I’m in love with all the design choices you’ve made in this room but the vanity really appeals to me. Would it be possible to notch out a groove in the bottom of the drawers and top of the swing door as door pulls? So that you can keep the fabulous minimal look but still have a way to access the inside? It would be tough with the wrap around veneer, you would definitely have to chisel and then sand while trying not to chip the thing to shreds. It might be possible with a dremel? I’m not sure it would be worth the risk of damaging the piece, tbh. I really love the look and am sure you’ll come up with something wonderful.
Paint roller trust issues? I'm not sure if there is therapy for that Andrew, but who knows...might be a niche arena for some enterprising therapist. LOL. I'm amazed you found a walnut veneer panel at the restore. Talk about a find! In my experience applying veneer edge banding, rolling or block-pressing the banding after removing your heat source helps for a more aggressive adhesion. Instead of cabinet hardware, have you considered self-closing/opening drawer hardware to maintain that minimal look? Just a thought. Can't wait to see that clawfoot tub finished and installed. You're just a few steps away from a welcomed bubble bath. Cheers.

The transformation of the vanity is amazing. I vote for pulls to match the faucet coloring for a contrast or no pulls for a clean look.
I know you already inserted the drawers, but if you like the look without hardware you can use push-to-open drawer slides and forgo the hardware
Yes, your parents are terrific. Such a great resource for you with their knowledge, experience, and dedication to you.
