Steele recently won an Ineffective Counsel Georgia SC appeal cause a lawyer didn't notice an indictment said "The District Attorney charges..." Instead of the Grand Jury Charges, and should have objected after Jeopardy attached to protect client from Double Jeopardy, was Steele's argument. If that worked then following Counsel saying sign it, he signed it. Not Tounks legal responsibility to make sure it's right and not have accepted that "you can explain in court" UNWRITTEN VERBAL agreement. Clearly should have known not to allow client to sign untrue things like Ashleigh Merchant refused to allow Arnold to sign any Factual Acknowledgments if it wasn't explicitly clear and 💯.

The state really wants Thug, but he filed for a speedy trial. If there’s a mistrial on the state’s behalf, he will walk & they can’t retry him. She’s told Love that in court. I think no matter what she will deny every motion for a mistrial & let them fight it out in appeals court if he’s found guilty. Whitaker knows there’s no time left for a retrial so her hands are clear if the jury are able to give a verdict. That’s why diddy is opting for a speedy trial. It forces the state to rush & the burden of proof is on them. Public opinion doesn’t matter. This judge is also looking out for herself in the long run.

She didn’t want to do that with the plea deal defendants because she wanted to catch them off guard and punished them later. So the woody the judge was in on it that’s what made it wrong. Even if this goes to another court, the outcome will be the same.
When he took the deal, he swore in court that the facts in the plea deal were true and then when he testified, he swore that not everything in the plea deal is true. Since the statements can't both be true, he was lying to the court in one of these instances and committed perjury. Appealing would be a waste of time and money.

Without implying that I have any sympathy for Mr. Sledge or any of the accused in the YSL trial as I strongly suspect that they are all generally guilty of at least most of the charges, I think it may be a bit of a stretch to say that Mr. Sledge understood the facts he plead to. Sure, he said he did, but then again, if he's truly ignorant, how would he recognize that he doesn't understand what he thinks he understands.

Sad....I understand the seriousness of an oath, as stated by the judge. However, I don't understand why the seriousness of how plea deals have been obtained by the DA ... be considered as a major factor in determining this man's faith. Moreover, it is my opinion that consideration be given to ALL of the circumstances....mistakes, and mishaps that have occurred in this trial. Was he adhering to the terms of a 30-year probation? He said he understood, obviously, he did not.
It breaks my heart the way the way those with high academic achievement use language (oral and written) as a weapon against those with less. Notice... I did NOT use the term unintelligent ... many with language deficits are victims of underserved schools.....And sadly, his family probably would have to sell a lot of chicken dinners for an Attorney as... Ashley M... who could head this off...... Just my opinion!!
