  • My friend Darcy Sanders is creating an No-Sew Envelope Journal and the process has intrigued me so much so that I've decided to try to create my own following her videos.
This Video is all about making sense of what this journal is to me and how to guide it towards that goal.

Thank you for giving me purpose; thank you for sharing your artistic endeavors with me. Never underestimate yourself; you are good at your craft.

Ceri, I watch your videos over fully a couple times. I am making an envelope journal. I painted the envelopes, and glued them together.I am coloring rows of flowers out of a color book and fussy cutting them out. I have notched the pockets . And that is where I am at. Really enjoying this project!

    Hi, Ceri!
This maze of openings makes me dizzy. It is, of course, its complexity which makes it so interesting and attractive.
I think this would make an excellent book of quotes.
Your master boards are to die for. In fact, I don`t think I could cut them up.
On second thought, I don`t "think", I know for sure that I couldn`t cut these beauties into cards and hide them in pockets... No, no, no, not me.

Ceri, with all the apprehensions you mentioned in your introduction, please be aware that you are a fine crafter. I know of no one who can do everything. I am not aware that you seriously sell any of the projects you create. In fact, I think I recall you saying you purposefully do not sell your projects. This is an asset rather than a problem. What you create you create from your own desires. I know of no UA-cam journal maker who sells their journals who does not look for what the public likes and wants and then provides them with those kind of projects. The result of this kind of commercial approach to what they create is that the only difference between projects is the subject matter and not the way in which they decorate. It could be a book about fall or a book about clowns. The fact is, the system has been established and the same images and placement of bits and pieces remain the same from book to book. Butterflies and scraps of book pages are de rigueur. And, for people who make a living from creating journals, this makes sense. It's a faster way of producing product, it provides the customers with what they want and if a person is really in touch with their customer base, it is financially rewarding. I've watched your videos for several years now and I don't see you creating from a need to make what other people want. To me, it seems that each project is a challenge that you try as best you can to conquer. I think that is so refreshing and admirable! You are among friends. It excites me when I see you stepping out of your comfort zone because then I know you are REALLY trying to expand and improve your skills which is something every crafter should actively pursue. Thumbs up, my friend!

Did you hear me say “yes that’s the one” when you brought out the cover card with the butterfly on it. It brought out the dark pink and another color on the cover. My birthday is May 20 when I will be 90. I have done so many crafts since I was in high school and still do paper crafts. I just moved into a smaller home where I use a bedroom as My craft room. Did have one that was 20 x 18 so am getting rid of a lot. You don’t need to answer this as it is so long but love your work. 😊

I have a quote journal/notebook I made several years ago (before I even knew about this wonderful world of paper). I hope you share which quotes you put in it (something you could do occasionally with a short video perhaps? A Coffee with Ceri episode maybe? I have several favorites of my own but I'm always open to new ones. 😁 TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞

❤❤❤ coming along nicely. I really like the idea of quotes. I'm considering a Faith Journal. I could do it similarly and use scripture that speaks to me as I work on each envelope. TFS ❤❤❤

Thank you always for your videos. I am a fan of your voice, too. There are actors and actresses that I love their voices. Yours is up there. I listen to auditable books. Have you thought about maybe narratoring books? I think you would be great at it.

Thank you Jody, many years ago I did some voice over work in the states for advertisements and yes I’ve looked into audio books but the process is more than I think I could handle.
