I'm the same as you, feels like I watch this video once a year. Everything up to the 3:20 mark is really excellent, after that the quality drops but then picks up a bit for the climax. I get chills when she activates the MWD.
I still remember when this came out in 2 parts... so long I have waited for a sequal, and I have not given up hope for one either!

why are graphics so important for you?
Eve's graphics have been continually updated every year. They still look amazing today due to that. I'd prefer this video to be updated replacing the 10 year old girl voice acting. Srsly get an actual woman to make it sound believable.
I say keep the old graphics to show how much EVE has changed and stayed the same.

2. I believe aftereffects was used to superimpose all of the text and other effects (I'm fairly sure KyokoSakoda did this), and Sony Vegas was used to compose the video.

The conflicts with the races alone could spawn a million story's. Hell I would settle for an animated series.
I would love, even moreso than a movie, to see an Eve series.
Compared to Clear Skies, this has the better graphics, but Clear Skies has the better dialogue and voice acting. I'd love to see a collaboration between the two.

Just so everyone knows rendering 12 minutes of footage to that quality takes days on a average computer, on the highest fidelity possible in EVE you'd likely blow your computer up trying it.

I played for four years, and the only thing that keeps me from going back is the amount of money I DID put into it. Still makes me cringe. Few have smelt the sweet scent of victory in that game, and even fewer know how too replicate that scent time and again. I certainly don't know how.
Even though this wasn't Truely EVE online (So many holes in roles and weapons, etc..) It was still an awesome vid. Really Good work. I'd like to see a collection of vids like this for the "Tell your story" campaign =)

Agreed. That's because people relate to other people...not ships. Clear Skies was about people, and while this was pretty, it was about ships not people. Overall decent job...not hating :)

You can't compare this to Clear skies. Its like placing a fruit and a vegetable side by side. They may share a few traits but are ultimately two completely different things.

I wonder if a Minmatar movie would be in the works.I would think there would be a few good slave overcoming their"masters"story lines.
But is that such a bad thing? The slow start in a lot of ways acts to screen out the little kids who have no patience and want EVE to be CoD with spaceships. A game where they can jump in and by the end of day 1, have everything mastered. Part of what makes it so much fun for the rest of us is that the only people who have the patience to get through the first few weeks are the ones who can really appreciate and make the most of the game's realism and complexity.
love the fighter huds 10:04 but the sound has some issues (I know everyone's a critic). It would be better if you didn't make the music louder than the voices, especially since the voices are kind of muffled (which is okay) and the sound effects of the guns and explosions need to be clearer and deeper so you get that feeling like its really happening right in front of you. Also, i might have gone with different music, something with a better bass or possibly a more chorus sound. Other than that good movie. +1

Eve is a hard game to get adjusted to. I've been playing for almost 2 years on and off. I spend most of my time training and then just leave and let me account expire. Then I renew and train so more. Did that for over a year. Yet I understand peoples frustration. Eve tries to balance things but is mostly hit & miss. I imagine the only ones who get something out of this are the ones making the headlines. Even after all my time. I still don't have anywhere the funds to make any lasting impact.

Looking at this ages after it came out just made me aware of the cheesy dialog, When I first saw this it was all 'amazing' and 'omg awesome'.
Now I just keep laughing about the cheesy voice acting, then again considering these were just guys recording over Teamspeak it's forgives, still making this hilarious now tough.

What editing program did you use?
I know from some stories written by CCP on the site that some of the minmitar ships needed crew to reload the guns. So there's that as well. THat and who's going to clean up that goop from the 'cockpit' when the pod pilot has stopped crapping himself in a huge fight

The reason i don't play EOHPoker is that a lot of their guys are high up on the bounties list. That says to me that it's a scam.

Under ideal conditions it would take longer, under realistic conditions it could also damage the PC ( just saving video projects at 1080p will spike the CPU and GPU temperature up by 5-10 degrees celsius, that's saving pre-rendered videos in a different format, what swamm said, IE a video with graphical fidelity equal to EVE without first rendering it in EVE's Carbon engine would tax the computer far more than just saving videos across formats as the computer has allot more work to do).
Wow, that game looks awesome! I thought this was a movie about EVE online, but instead i see an awesome game with cool things happening! How can i play this game? Where can i download it? And does CCP know you are using their crappy ship skins?
To continue, Blizzard has been dumbing down, simplifying, and streamlining WoW for years to appeal to a younger player base, and look what's happened to it. Look at its player demographics now. While other games have been dumbing down to rope in kids, EVE has been getting more complex to improve the experience for existing players and attract more like them. EVE isn't easy, and that's a good thing. Players are the most important part of an MMO, and you attract bad players, you'll have a bad game
CCP should provide more guidance for new players to get into the exciting part of the game. The vast majority of new Eve players get stuck on mining and missioning, and will take a long time before they even look at the more exciting parts of the game. The solution to this problem is making missions inherently directed at more exciting parts of the game: creating agents centered around fowarding the eve expierance such as pvp and joining a corp, especially the career agents

eve hase some hidden very large textures that can sape most regular computers , ccp have those hidden textures for futures expansion when computers become more powerful.
I disagree. I thought the voice over was pretty good. The best I've seen so far was from the Dominion Trailer but this video was pretty good. :)

hm I assume this video was doctored in Photoshop as far as the user interface is involved cause I seriously doubt ccp would make something that better any time soon.
It's the closest you'll get to a cinematic Eve trailer, outside of CCP themselves. Plus it's actually a proper length, not just a snippet. The voice acting is pretty bad, BUT, when isn't it in fan made movies? This is players getting involved, not professional actors, so you have to give allowances. I've heard far worse.

The video is - shall we say it takes a few liberties on actual game play and graphics. To bad it didn't play more like the video, the game would be a lot more fun to play.
i respect the amount of work that has gone into this but personally, I didn't like it very much. the voice acting and physics could really be improved.

Visually, the video was really good, great editing and all of that. On the other hand, the voice acting was very poor. I couldn't understand what they were saying a majority of the time. I could only catch words here and there. It's disapointing, really. Better luck next time, I guess.

CCP will not allow hollywood to fuck up eve in a movie, if they ever decide to make an eve movie CCP is gonna be heavily involved in the production, most likely with the amount of money they are racking in atm, they can setup their own production company or find some very good partners to work with.
well they got mad about walking in stations because the game was broken ships didnt work, hybrid turrets were unfitable, ships were broken and unused, and to top it off ccp promised a full walking in station instead we got a damn cube lol, then they tried to make us spend 40 bucks on some jeans wtf lol

dunno what you class as a average computer,but rendering eve will not blow up your pc. with graphics card being as powerful as they are nowdays it wont take long at all, and just so you know. even if somthing was that hard to render it would just take longer, not blow up the pc.
