    Thanks for reply to my question and sending me here PSY CHO. This is the best EVE video I've ever seen, and despite all the amazing EVE vids out there it's not really close. CCP should put this right along side their own 'future vision' because playing this would be amazing.

    Beautiful without measure, no wonder it took so long to make it done (plan was for this movie to see the light of day back in dec '11), but I have to say the final product is superb. Time to spam the link everywhere because this movie needs a heck a lot of more views.
    Two thumbs WAY up.

    Except the "fire and smoke" I added and the planetary scenes (the city at the beginning and the desert planet scene) - all taxtures and ship models are taken out of EVE ONLINE as they are. No modifications to the ship models and texutres were made.

    FYI, the capsules generate sound. The storyline goes that when the Jove gave the capsule tech to the Caldari, they explained that capsuleers found the complete lack of hearing very uncomfortable, so they got the capsules to synthesise sounds.
    It's all covered in the background story "Jovian Wetgrave".

    yes I know, but I decided to put in some gravity cause the fire and smoke effects looked more interesting with a small amount of gravity than without any... also I thought it wouldn´t be a problem cause in every sci-fy movie there´s gravity in spaceships and noone comnplains about that... so perhaps there´s a big planet below the chimera you don´t see in the video...:D
    future project will be "physically" correct :D

    i see some people saying they want really extreme graphic/physics rendering in the game in comments, note that this game is on one server and to individually render, thrusters, particle effects, and gate jumping effects does has to load and do its thing, imagine that on a massive scale, yes EVE would be really awesome if we could walk around in station like mos eisley cantina in star wars lol and such with our characters it would give a whole new social aspect to the game rather than chat box. or even walking around inside your ship would be nice. but other than that the game is really cool how it is for now. if they do a station thing like i described. omg. that would be really awesome! nice video, and thanks CCP for making a beautiful game!

    • @casey4619
      @casey4619 11 років тому

      Uhh...they do have walking in stations, dude. But it's a useless module. They didn't even get rid of the module it 'replaces' so no one uses it except for, y'know, funzies.

    • @frx1p32dz2
      @frx1p32dz2 11 років тому

      thats captains quarters, im speaking on like. actually walking around station with other players, utilizing a more social aspect of the game, why have appearal on your toon if no one actually sees it much. wwalking around station would give a new meaning to the game as far as the social aspect of it;

      Katsu Wolf Ah, I getcha. I've heard other people bring up the same problem. Do you think it'd bring practical gameplay or just a leisurely thing to do while you wait for your blueprints to go through?

    • @NexAlea
      @NexAlea 10 років тому +4

      The EVE server don't compute any of the graphical effects ... it's your computer job to do it. The server calculate almost everything else, but all the fancy effects are tied to your hardware.

    Also please don't forget that these ships are full of oxygen, also, if your having a battle very close to a planet, that planet's gravitational force affects whatever was blown apart or off the ship. Also, don't discount chemical fires etc that don't require o2 to burn. Overall a great video and gone into my favorites!

    Definitely a remarkable piece of work. The only thing I did not like was that you made very large ships like the hurricane and typhoon seem so small when you showed the scenes on a planet. Also you made the hurricane fly like a small fighter and a hurricane is a very large battlecruiser. hundreds of meters across. Other than that awesome!

  • @kerradeph
    @kerradeph 12 років тому

    actually, the wormhole collapsed before the factions were formed. the colonies that survived relativly intact became what are known as jove, sleepers, and the other relic races.
    the factions that are around had to build back up from tech that (from the sounds of it) was equivalent to 18th-20th century, the minmatar more so.

  • @kerradeph

    Since these ships can generate 'bubbles' to keep interstellar particles and photons away from their hulls, they might be able to do the same to atmosphere, thus making aerodynamics irrelevant. And also, the Jovian pod simulates sound of nearby objects in space because it was found that without sound, capsuleers tend to be somewhat unaware of their surroundings.

  • @beep1234567891011
    @beep1234567891011 13 років тому

    I didn't notice any debris falling directly down - most of them seem to be properly reacting as they would in space. Unless you mean the molten metal; I believe that's just the bottom layer hardening and sticking to the hull. At least that's how I'd explain it, if I wanted people to look the other way.
    You can, however, assume that the larger ships would have external fires for a little while. The smaller ships would probably just pop and that would be it.

    It's not entirely impossible. If a sufficient amount of oxygen is vented from the ship, it can create a fuel source for fire to burn, but rapid decompression would create high speed vents so it would look more like the thrusters.
    I think your choice of artistic liberty was well put though. It looks very solid and this is extremely well done.

  • @MJE673
    @MJE673 13 років тому

    Great video. I'm more autistic than artistic so I can't imagine the effort that is needed to do this... very atmospheric, even had my "I hate that bloody Eve" wife stop and watch for a minute wondering what it was (till she realised it was Eve and checked herself. lol)

  • @Remscar

    That thing at 0:50 is really cool. Looks like they are harvesting some sort of energy from a spatial anomaly of something. That ship that's harvesting it is even cooler, would be cool industry thing imo.

    Best vacum explosion is at 3:20 where the smoke billows into a ball. If you can make a ball like animation of the flames it would be very much like how fire really burns in zero gravity. Some cool experiments have been done on the space station and fire behaves very different in 0 grav. Very good visualizations of the ships coming out the warp gates too! CCP: Put that animated stargate wave texture in the gates!!!!

  • @projectblackrai

    The ships are burning where there is O2 leaking out. The debris is being carried by inertia. They can fly in the atmo because they have anti-grav capabilities. Something to that effect. :-p

    Correction: No fire in *vacuum* space. If there is combustible material and oxygen, there can be fire. Supposedly, ships and stations contain huge containers of liquid oxygen for life support and other systems along with their fuel supplies.
