An example of someone who buys into and respects the city and a club, and has that love and passion for the culture of both 👏 This is my favourite interview so far! Alex has notably been seen as an integral part of the youth set up for sometime and to hear his points of view in a laid back setting is really cool and inspiring. Please do more interviews with staff - so insightful 🏆
Wow what a man he spoke so well about life in and around academy life so interesting to hear he's take on how to manage young minds we are so lucky to have someone like him in charge of our next generation of players
When I was 15, in about 1996 - Alex was my youth team coach when still playing for Leyton Orient. One game, I scored a wonder goal from the half way line, chipping the keeper… it was one of those moments where everything went right for me and all the opposition came and congratulated me. The next Thursday night at Training, Alex said to me “You’ll be tempted to try that again in the next game - don’t… it won’t happen again…” As a precocious teenager I didn’t listen and tried it… and I shanked the ball out for a throw in… he was right! I should have listened…! 🤦♂️ A lovely guy though - as a Liverpool fan too, I’m made up he’s done so well at the club. Horsley FC U15s must feel a world away for him… 😊
Shows his dedication to be coaching while still a player. Orient had Dean Smith, Gary Karsa, Andy Scott, Andy Edwards.a lot of staff who went on to higher level. Its a shame Inglethorpe never went into management again after Exeter. Maybe Klopp will put his name in the hat as a successor
Seems like a really nice humble guy and obviously knows his stuff, the kids under him are very lucky to have him as a coach, mentor etc and as a parent myself I would be so confident that they will be steered in the right direction. Thanks for all you’ve done and continue to do for this amazing club! Robbie as always a legend always has been and will continue to be my hero !
Wow, really love this one, very deep and fascinating. Looking football from different pov than what we see in the pitch. Thank you guys for the podcast, definitely one of my favorites ❤
After such carabao cup final, this man deserves a credit!

This series won't be complete until Carol and Caroline from the canteen have been interviewed.
Let's start a petition for Carol and Caroline to appear in this series✍

he has the hardest job, training/teaching kids and as well as what we all have learnt, receiving or giving disappointing information
One of the best yet! Alex spoke so incisively.

Makes sense now why the boys who have played for the first team out of the academy have such good heads on their shoulders. What an amazing guy.
