Making A Elevated Ground Blind Platform
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 жов 2024
- Deer season is fast approaching and its time to start thinking about putting up the fishing gear and getting out the bow. My dad loves being outdoors and going hunting but has been sick the last couple years making it harder to get him out doing what he loves. We decided to try and make him the safest way to get above the deer and get a easy shot. That idea was a elevated platform that we could put a ground blind on. Hopefully this will help someone out! We love it!!!

Great work!
Thanks!
Great Video
Thank you and thanks for the comment!
I enjoyed your video. We are planning to elevate our ground blinds, too. How long are your 4x4 posts?
I used 6ft 4x4s on this blind. I really like to. I will definitely be making more. They are great. Glad you like the video!
Excellent video
Thank you!
Change your name to Luke Combs Outdoors and you will have 100k followers in no time. Haha, nice video.
For some reason thats not the first time I've heard that lol thanks
Good stuff! I have been planning on building the exact same platform👍. Are you concerned with the plywood floor being exposed to the elements? I am also planning to cover the floor with indoor/outdoor boat carpet.
I didn't put it in the video but I did the exact thing you are thinking. I put indoor/outdoor boat carpet on the floor and it is great. I am a little worried about the Plywood in the elements but I had to make it quick. I think when it does need replaced I will seal the plywood a couple times before putting it on. Hope it goes well for you! I love it and my dad has already shot one deer out of ours!
Spray it with Flex seal spray. Or use rhino lining to paint it depending on your budget.
Good thinking! I might do that.
Thanks I am in the process of making a platform blind.
Awesome! Good Luck!
How did you attatch the ground blind to the floor?
I just used wood screws and washers.
Been looking to build one of these. Would love to know the cost breakdown.
I will look back and try and get you a breakdown. We already had some of the lumber so I will have to look it up. I will be making more. I love this stand and we have taken 3 deer out of it already this year.
4x4x6ft posts $10 each x4 (Legs)
2x6x8ft $5 each x2 (Base)
2x6x6ft $4 each x10 (Base and Stairs)
2x6x12ft $6 each x2 (Stairs)
2x4x12ft $5.50 each x6 (Railings and Cross Bracing)
3/4 in treated plywood $45 each x2 (Floor)
Lag screws $20
HEM steel 4x4 brackets $80
Total a little over $300
How much did it cost you all in?
Roughly 300-400 dollars maybe a little more. I am going to be making another one here soon for this upcoming year and will make a video with a complete price breakdown with current prices. Thanks for the comment!
I’ve thought about building two separate 4x4 and connect them together in the field for an 8x8
That would be a nice size blind!
That would give you an 4x8
Where did you get the 4x4 brackets
You can get them off of Amazon/online but I found mine at bass pro shops
What ground blind are y’all using
It’s the rhino 180 blind
Barronett
Where u get the 4x4 brackets at?
Cabelas/Bass Pro
What did you have in materials cost?
I already had all of the 2x6s and the leg brackets so I'm not sure what exactly those cost. I think the brackets are around $100. The plywood, 2x4s, 4x4s, came out to about $350.
@@triplezoutdoors8272 thanks! Gives me some idea.
Where did you get the leg brackets?
Luke Combs, is that you! 👀👀👀👀
😂 I think i might’ve heard that once or twice before
