Leachies aren't semi arboreal. They're straight up arboreal. They're gonna be off the ground 90% of the time or more. Same with most other New Cal geckos popular in the hobby. One piece of advice, don't be hand feeding it. They can become reliant on it and you don't want to be stuck feeding by hand every feeding. They'll also eat more readily in a private. And feed every other day. Insects are recommended as a occasional offering. I loooove your videos. Always look forward to more.
Thank you for your insights and advice! Your caution about hand-feeding is noted, as it's important to avoid creating dependence on this method. I appreciate your feeding frequency recommendation and the tip about offering insects occasionally. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy the videos! Your support and enthusiasm are truly appreciated. Stay tuned for more content, and feel free to share any other tips or experiences you may have.
Check out the channel Leopard Gecko. She started her channel when she was a kid and has tons of how to, advice, tutorial, and everything else content, well made and entertaining. Love her channel. Her husbandry is top notch as well. I couldn't believe how long they live.
Hello there! I wouldn't recommend using cacti or succulents with spines for a leopard gecko enclosure, as they have no scales, these plants can seriously injure them! It'd be better to use a variety of spine-less cactuses instead, such as christmas cactus! Another thing is the substrate, a common misconception is leopard geckos live in deserts, but they actually live in arid grasslands! It is still feasible to use a well-draining substrate for them, I personally use a blend of 70/topsoil, 20/reptisand and 30/excavator clay for my leopard gecko enclosures and it does extremely well! Another thing is that leopard geckos do need a humid spot, so putting in some rehydrated sphagnum moss in the caves would be excellent, or giving the gecko a "humid hide!"
Yes The leopard gecko has soft skin That can easily be injured. To recreate a desert environment You can use a variety of stones and wood For greenery You can use succulents with soft edges or cactus without spines I prefer using mosses Ferns You can use the moss to create a humidity hide They love hides The more the better They will feel safer and more confident They need a source of water Also a warm area The sand is usually not recommended as a substrate since they lick everything they smell And they may catch sand on their tongue when hunting food. Sand could cause impaction
One question is it not bad for them to be with cactus (I didn't see if they had spikes) I ask because I would be afraid of them getting hurt, forgive my ignorance but it is to learn more about these beautiful beings
What was the substrate mix in the flat tailed lizards tank made from and I suggest using clay substrate and water to make clay instead of sand and glue, it’s easier and can look more natural, and if you’re worried, it won’t fall apart unless drenched leaving space to change and redo stuff
Your attention to detail and willingness to take risks have resulted in breathtaking works of art that leave me in awe every time.🥰
I'm so invested in this entire story.🦎 Can't wait to watch them grow and laugh along the way. 😍
