Nice! It will be a great addition to the RC collection. I'll end up with a roller one day since I don't use Traxxas electronics except the servo. Hehe. Yeah the lower weight is going to help in durability.
I Had almost the exact same motor mount experience with the 1/10 Maxx. I actually made my own motor mount washers for the chassis. Gpm gear aluminum gear cover and motor mount, dab of loctite. Instantly stopped stripping nylon spur gears. I did keep the pins tho.
I also bought the motor mount washers for my xrt right out the gate.

They have instructions with the wheels/tires because they are directional and some people won’t realize that. Better to have too much info than not enough.
Tempted to try and install the 2028 1100kv in mine but it's so damn heavy i'm hesitant. I had a mmx8s and a tp 5670 1270kv but the mmx8s couldn't handle it and blew out. Now I'm running an xlx2 and tp 5660 1356kv but still not totally happy lol. Great video bro, you're one of my fav youtubers =) oh and yea the bec is 6v and I'm surprised you had good luck running stock servo at higher voltage. I actually just did that in my first xrt bmx bash video and I had problems the whole video with my mmx8s cutting out and needing to be rebooted. Come to find out it was because I was running stock servo at 7.4v. Soon as I set voltage to 6v my mmx8s stopped overloading the bec and worked great.
I have the Orange XRT 🤑, most parts from the X-Maxx will fit it too such has wheels/tires(24mm hex rear/17mm front), wheelie bar, and light kits. I just installed all three of those accessories on the XRT. I'm keeping it all stock mostly 🤔I even did the Traxxas 6700mah batts with the Traxxas dual charger. Also Powerhobby has a lot of wheels/tires for the X-Max/XRT such as the Powerhobby Raptor XL Belted Tires / Viper Wheels got them in orange too 😊 Going to Pimp it in Orange,Red and Silver....of course Skin the chassis too (Darkside Studio Arts or RC Skinz)😱

I had it out today and was very impressed. All stock too. Bent a rear CVD during a really bad landing. But, didn't break any of the plastics.
@Jason Perrin RC ey bro I'm new to buying rc and I been seeing this around on UA-cam for a lil bit now. If I buy this do I have to buy anything apart like batteries or anything I might need for the car or does everything come with it.

Cool unboxing, I looked at getting an XRT but my heart is set on another X-Maxx currently also i might reconsider this or a Kraton 8S EXB someday.

The wing mount is prone to breaking upon bad landings. If you want to do flips, put on the xmaxx tires, the sledgehammers. If you're jumping 20-30ft, the bottom cover will crack over time, I'm hoping they come up with an upgrade, hint hint Basherqueen. A lot of people expect it to turn sharper, I think they forget 1. It's a truggy, 2. How low and wide it is. Otherwise, it's a fantastic rc and imo, a really good looking one at that. Can't wait to see you bash it! 🤘

Im loving my XRT so far i only have about 3 runs on it but it handles really well and glides through the air. the temps seem a little high though
I was expecting a XMAXX V2 with a wide XMAXX kit. Like they did with the maxx V1 & V2
well i send traxxas message about my v1 MAXX and they told me that eventually we all must upgrade to the widemaxx kit..hopefully they gonna keep in stock the bodies and the v1 chassis+center drive shaft and other v1 parts
would you recommend a xmaxx or xrt for someone looking to get into rcs

I have always had Traxxas and never anything else. E-review, Xmaxx, etc but I find that Traxxas isn’t all that great in terms of electronics, servos, even working on them kinda sucks at times. Anyway, I’m looking at this XRT but wondering if maybe I’ll be happier trying something new and going Kraton EXB rtr 8s. I think it’s probably a better value. Thoughts?
As far as the CPU cooler design, I think it really just comes down to costs. CPU coolers generally have a copper slug in the middle which would raise costs. Then comes the contact surface area/larger mass again more material which would raise costs. Let's get one thing clear though, you need enough mass to be able to dissipate however many watts of heat the motor is putting out max. Fans/heatsinks on RC cars do not have the mass to dissipate all heat so what they actually do is help motor cool down faster and not limit the potential of how hot it could get. Heat soak as it may.
Traxxas makes a battery adapter tray for the X-maxx that will fit in the XRT battery trays when your using a small battery such as running the XRT on 6s🤔😁
