I feel the same way about the place in terms of the use-case for the XRT over the XMAXX. Low slung, great handling, speed and big. Everything I wanted, as I'm also not a crazy basher. I also couldn't get 50 out of the box, not that I felt it was slow at this size.
Great video. I believe traxxas made the bumper mount a weak point on purpose. It's cheap and easy to replace. More rigid components can sometimes transfer too much stress to other components.
This is a fun video to watch. When it was on the BMX track it was right at home. To see it jump and land so well is quite impressive. One of coolest things was the on board shot when you were doing the speed runs. You could see how the tires distorted. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, a great video. This is more my driving style too. I find it difficult to assess what a car is like to really drive when it's been driven to destruction. As much as I like watching Kev's videos, I find yours give balance to the whole thing so I can judge what a car would be like to live with for normal driving. Might have to start saving some pennies....
I like watching kevs videos as it demonstrates how durable stuff is. When i was a kid i had a tamiya madcap and lunch box but one sniff of a jump and they'd be smashed to pieces. Secondary school i had a schumacher club storm that was amazing compared to the tamiyas but folded a chassis full speed into a bollard. Bought a savage 4.6 later on but nitro is so noisy always gets attention. Todays rc's are mad the amount of abuse kev gives his xmaxxes is amazing at what they can do but not keen on the rolie polie of the xmaxx and have been looking at Kratons but i don't like how the motors mounted and possble egging so instead i sweated and bought the XRT and tried not to think about it lol Best of both worlds.

I must admit (massive Traxxas fan boy from MSUK). I run bought exact same batteries as you, and I was underwhelmed with the speed. Mine performed much better on random cheap amazon 4S lipos? Strange because I run Gens Ace 3S in all my other rigs?
Yeah, my Gensace have been some of the best performing I own. These seem quite small (same size as my decent 3s CNHL)… so maybe they have lost some ‘omph’ by making them compact 🤷🏼♂️
Everytime I think to myself "this is the year I get a good Traxxas", I see the price and I die inside. I see the cost of replacement parts and I die inside again. That's 2 months rent for me lol
Outside the tires and electronics, parts are not that expensive, honestly most traxxas cars only need a couple upgrades at first n should be good, within reason, lots of cheaper and just as good or better aftermarket parts are plentiful
There’s definitely a place in the market for a huge truggy, looked to have a little better handling than the xmaxx, but I have to say, I felt really sorry for that GoPro….. 😮
I wanted to love my XMAXX but it just didn't deliver like my Kraton 8S did. It struggled around an angled oval track and was constantly sending electronics back on warranty. It jumped well but that was about it. Eager to try the XRT but just can't trust Traxxas to make anything well that goes over 20mph.
😆 I sold my K8 exb turd and got a second xmaxx. Sold second xmaxx and got XRT. WAY better then K8 IMO. My losi dbxl-e was almost as fun as the traxxas more durable then k8 exb too.

I'm interested to know what you use for a camera on your vehicles.
GoPro Hero 8 Black for this one
Where can I get one of those small GPS for my rc cars. By watching your videos I have purchased my first rc 75km/h 4/w off-road. 124007, dude, and you keep making your cool, informative videos.
You may want to try out a Redcat Shredder. $400, 4S and similar size.
Buy lots of extra bellcranks. Rich duperbash broke 4 or 5 bellcranks I believe before M2C designed some new ones.
Nah… I don’t send it like them. I think I’ll be okay (hopefully lol)
That video was f****** brilliant mate keep them coming, and those jumps are called the whoops and yes you cleared them perfectly well done my friend
Cheers James. I had a blast 👌
A new rc car, nice and clean, i hate that the get so dirty and smashed after only a few runs
To be fair the car is expensive but the parts are fairly cheep, especially when you compare the price of Arrma's replacement parts.
Yeah these things are not cheap. Like I said, not something I’d usually buy. But I was lucky to get a good sponsor for a video last year 👌
@@brianlangford7278whats brand would you recommend?
There’s definitely a place in the market for a huge truggy, looked to have a little better handling than the xmaxx, but I have to say, I felt really sorry for that GoPro….. 😮
Haha… luckily I had it in a protective case 😅
Tomley likes it!
TRAXXAS KRATON! how innovative "Lets make a kraton, but plastic" Brill yent mate
Great video as always... Where is that BMX track that you're at? I'm Lincoln area & can't find anywhere decent... Cheers...
I like that to , Thanks for a awesome video . Now I should stop dreaming about a Rc car I can’t afford 😂😂😂
Where is that track look a lot of fun
Great video
Thanks dude
Happy Friday the 13th
As Kev would say, "All man!" He got blasted by an rc and still showed the footage to everyone 😂
Yeah... just flicked it away from my face as if it was a little angry wasp haha
