Great video. I believe traxxas made the bumper mount a weak point on purpose. It's cheap and easy to replace. More rigid components can sometimes transfer too much stress to other components.
I feel the same way about the place in terms of the use-case for the XRT over the XMAXX. Low slung, great handling, speed and big. Everything I wanted, as I'm also not a crazy basher. I also couldn't get 50 out of the box, not that I felt it was slow at this size.
This is a fun video to watch. When it was on the BMX track it was right at home. To see it jump and land so well is quite impressive. One of coolest things was the on board shot when you were doing the speed runs. You could see how the tires distorted. Keep up the good work.

There's reasons why Traxxas has part walls in almost every hobby shop they sell Traxxas at that takes up half the store. People just keep giving them money 💰
I really HATE when people try to justify the ridiculous prices that come along with the RC hobby. Your average person is basically priced out of the hobby. What makes it even worse is that they're selling 20, 30, hell, maybe even 40 year old tech. They just keep putting a new body on it and a different chassis and calling it a new RC car and they jack the price way up... IIt took me 3 years before I was FINALLY able to spend the money for a redcat Gen 8. And those are "cheap." I love this hobby. I just HATE the RC manufacturers who rip us off constantly. And the worshipers who justify the ridiculous prices just to make themselves feel a little less stupid for blowing that kind of money on a TOY.
@Tomley RC you have justified some prices before that I thought were a little bit high for what they were but no. In general, you're pretty spot on with them being overpriced. Especially with Traxxas. You are one of the only channels I can watch without getting this feeling of you worshiping the Traxxas overlords and having an ego because you can afford the ridiculous prices. Someone like Kevin rip off Talbot who gets his money by scamming people with his stupid ass Ebay shit and that RC sparks studio D bag who can't say a single sentence most days without cussing like a sailor because he thinks it makes him cool and spends 11 grand on an rc excavator and spends 30 minutes bragging about and justifying the cost. Those people I can't stand. They're the ones who give the RC hobby as a whole a bad reputation and Kevin is just a spoiled little shit with no real sense of value because he can just rip people off more to buy more rc cars.
Loved the smooth transition X's in the editing 👌 You should do that more and add a SMASH BANG WALLOP like in the comics. Just an idea. Give it some wings while airborne. Need for speed unbound does all this well. Excellent video.
I believe if you put the little holes in tyres to clear dirt. When at full throttle tyres will be more rounded shape making less of sharp triangle shape. This will in turn create larger grip area to road and more traction. Which should increase speed a bit.

Jehovah Jehovah Jehovah 😆. Blessed are the cheese makers. What a great movie! I'm a more recent sub but I was thinking a 4 or 6S Kraton / miniMaxx / Outcast would be perfect for that size BMX track. Very nice review, didn't expect that you would like such a big car. For an optimization of the XRT, maybe you want try some stuff from JS-Parts in Germany, than you have some solide solutions for these issues. I use some JS-parts on my Corally Dementor and Arrma Talion, I'am happy with that. Cheers

Yes, even though I don’t own an Xmaxx, this drives more planted for sure
Looks sick in green 💪🏻
Yeah, I thought so to
There's reasons why Traxxas has part walls in almost every hobby shop they sell Traxxas at that takes up half the store. People just keep giving them money 💰
Cash is king
@@TomleyRC and brains are hard to find
😅
Did look very at home on that track!
Yeah was perfect for it
Stoning was hilarious 😂. You're a legit traxxas fan now now 🤣
that bmx track looks awesome I need to find some places to go for me and my son like this
I really HATE when people try to justify the ridiculous prices that come along with the RC hobby.
I presume your not taking about me… 😅 1000 is way to much for a toy
Great video
Thanks dude
Love your content keep it coming .I have just picked up my first 1/8 scale rc and I got the Arrma kraton 6s v5 and I love it
Loved the smooth transition X's in the editing 👌
You should do that more and add a SMASH BANG WALLOP like in the comics. Just an idea. Give it some wings while airborne. Need for speed unbound does all this well.
Excellent video.
TRAXXAS KRATON! how innovative "Lets make a kraton, but plastic" Brill yent mate
Cool you has new xrt Traxxas I will like 👍😀😎
😎🤘
I believe if you put the little holes in tyres to clear dirt. When at full throttle tyres will be more rounded shape making less of sharp triangle shape. This will in turn create larger grip area to road and more traction. Which should increase speed a bit.
Where was that track today good Sir?
Nottingham (Rushcliffe Country park)
That was cool , I’m really getting into fifth scale , I have a 30dnt roller headed my way and a humongous electric motor to go in it ! 😂 it’ll run in to well over a grand but, the good thing about that is my wife doesn’t know 😂😂😂 great video
They are crazy 👌
Escs aren’t too bad anymore, motors are brilliant, servos are underpowered though
i've found the XRT was slower with the stock ESC. i stuck my Outcast 8S esc in it and it had a lot more pep at default punch.
@@rogueFactor yeah I’m not saying they’re fast with it but they are so much better than they used to be, I lost count on how many caught fire but with my xmaxx and xrt I’m yet to burn one out
@@RecklessRcuk when i see a fire extinguisher on/near someone's workbench, it's usually there due to previous incidents and not because they were proactive. HAHA! i need to recharge one of my extinguishers now that i remember.
Tomley praising a Traxxas means it’s really good
haha
My 4th RC Mojave EXB (Discontinued now), with HW Max6 4985 + FlySky NB4 and OMG 40KG Servo I too spent thousand dollars on a toy 🤦♂ but I loving it. haha
The Mojave EXB is awesome. Mine needs a run soon for sure
I wanted to love my XMAXX but it just didn't deliver like my Kraton 8S did. It struggled around an angled oval track and was constantly sending electronics back on warranty. It jumped well but that was about it. Eager to try the XRT but just can't trust Traxxas to make anything well that goes over 20mph.
😆 I sold my K8 exb turd and got a second xmaxx. Sold second xmaxx and got XRT. WAY better then K8 IMO. My losi dbxl-e was almost as fun as the traxxas more durable then k8 exb too.
TOMLEY BASHER ERA!!
Traxxas can KMA, how can they ask 2100 AUD in my country yet have no parts support when I esquire with RC stores?
I got a almost brand new TC Dementor for $460 delivered, getting a MT2+ in a few months and I still have spent $600 less than the asking of a XRT without batteries.
As Kev would say, "All man!" He got blasted by an rc and still showed the footage to everyone 😂
Yeah... just flicked it away from my face as if it was a little angry wasp haha
@@TomleyRC "Absolutely Epic" -Kev
That video was f****** brilliant mate keep them coming, and those jumps are called the whoops and yes you cleared them perfectly well done my friend
Cheers James. I had a blast 👌
Great video. First upgrade?
Not sure… maybe hardened gears.. but only if these ones fail
Jehovah Jehovah Jehovah 😆. Blessed are the cheese makers. What a great movie! I'm a more recent sub but I was thinking a 4 or 6S Kraton / miniMaxx / Outcast would be perfect for that size BMX track. The XRT was running out of room in some spots. It looks like it handles really well and doesn't grenade on rough landings. Glad you didn't have any troubles with the bell crank. That seems to be the other failure I've been seeing in the rough /extreme bashing reviews of this
Awesome video 👍
Chers dude
Very nice review, didn't expect that you would like such a big car. For an optimization of the XRT, maybe you want try some stuff from JS-Parts in Germany, than you have some solide solutions for these issues. I use some JS-parts on my Corally Dementor and Arrma Talion, I'am happy with that. Cheers
What a monster! 💪
Hi tomleyrc where is the track is it local to Lincoln? I don’t recognise it.
I have an orange one and it’s a beast !
A new rc car, nice and clean, i hate that the get so dirty and smashed after only a few runs
Awesome.. nice driving :)
Cheers Pete
Me: I'll put aftermarket if I want.
Traxxas:yeah.
Me: o yeah.
Traxxas: Fine. 😔
😅
I have a friend who is having doubt about Xrt, but after ur review, he probably buy one XD because he have Xmaxx and he have same thought about it as you
It’s certainly a nicely put together truck, and suits my driving perfectly
Where can I get one of those small GPS for my rc cars. By watching your videos I have purchased my first rc 75km/h 4/w off-road. 124007, dude, and you keep making your cool, informative videos.
traxxas tough my xmaxx and xrt are my favourite rc at the moment even tho its plastic its built tough and cheap to replace will keep them both relatively stock with better esc and servo upgrade and better pinion and spur gears
How do you get the speed to show when you switch to onboard video
Gopro's have a GPS on them and you can add the speed on the App
