  • What did I get us into this time....what a mess! I was talking to one of my casual pruning customers and mentioned that I had a UA-cam channel that does transformations. After she watched some of our videos, she mentioned that she had another property that may fit the bill in terms of massive cleanups.....and she wasn't wrong. I went up and had a look at the property, but it was just much too large (1300m2) and much too neglected to do a full yard cleanup. In the end, I said I could help do a section and make a start. The job took us around 4 hours, including 2 trips to the landfill. This is part 1 of 2.
    Part 02: • Overgrown Garden gets ...
Workers on this job: George (long pants) & Reece (Shorts).

    FAQ's:
    Q: Where are you located?
A: We are from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘🦘🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 4 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: We use mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs!
    Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!
    Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!

Makes me want to mail a brochure from the agricultural and horticultural departments on how to NOT use netting in that way. I admire your patience and stamina and restraint from cursing every piece of netting that put up a fight! KUDOS! Where is Edward Scissorhands when you need him?? Excellent cleanup, thus far, gentlemen!

Neglected fruit trees, bird netting, poultry wire, stakes, irrigation hose, some weed mat, potted plants, old fence slats, a railing to work around, and working on a slope! Not sure this clean up has enough obstacles!? 😵‍💫😅 Cherry and apple trees? 🍒🍏 Such variation in the wood color. Can't wait for the next video! Bravo!! 👏🏻

All that netting looked so frustrating to get rid of, found myself cursing under my breath just watching. Look forward to the next part. You both did a great job. :)

God has granted you with great patience! I don't think that I could have dealt with all of the obstacles that you guys had to deal with just to get to trimming the grass! Insane! You guys are doing a fantastic job so far!

I think the netting and railings got in the way more than the plants and trees themselves. You have done a lot of unpleasant work, but I appreciate your patience and hope that you will not meet such a network again :-) Otherwise, as usual, everything is great, I also like the cooperation very much, so thank you very much !! I'm already looking forward to the second part!🙂💯👍👍🌿

I thought about what I was going to say quite a bit. I like to watch your videos more than any other I subscribe to. That’s saying a lot. I’m 72 and in poor health and spend most of my day with an iPad in front of me. The finished product is always the best anyone could do. The transformations are frequently stunning! Congratulations on your work. You’re the best. The new guy seems to be working out well. I always wonder why all of them have worn shorts. 😂

Wow, George that was some heck of a job. it looked impossible at first that everything would untangle. Then I thought George has magic hands all will be well even though I am sure it was back breaking. Reece is doing a fantastic job working extremely hard and anticipating what he needs to do. You have a great helper and you are working so well together. He is handling the rake like a real pro! I am so excited to see part two. Extra big hug today.....Sylvia.

The DIY greenhouse got out of hand. George, you and Reece worked tirelessly and relentlessly. I can't wait for the big reveal.

Gawd what a horror. It always staggers me that property owners let things get so out of control. Don't envy you, and admire and appreciate all you have to muster to get the job done. Bravo both.

This is a property with a beautiful view and is one of the most outrageous messes I have ever seen you deal with. An inexcusable disaster. NOTHING can justify the use of netting in this way. Thank you for your work and for this astonishing video. Looking forward to part two (really looks more like a four part video)!
