Let that be a lesson to you chaps! Concentrate! Weather forecast! Adjacent land! Wind direction and taking action BEFORE you have to! But well done for dealing with it in a timely manner. Congratulations to Henry for his first summit! 👍💪
Well done on the pop quiz! You recovered being over powered. The first time the rail hits the water is a bit unnerving. That’s because when anything else in life tips that far it usually goes on over the rest of the way. Remember the more the boat heels the more keel force there is pulling you upright. The more sail area doesn’t always mean more speed. In that situation half the sail area would have given you nearly the same speed with much more comfort and steady course. I’ll be following you around the world lads. Fair winds, carry on
What I admire most is the OYZ team share it all. They don't edit out the spicey bits and this shows progression. Make me as a viewer feel that anything is achievable. Well done lads and thank you yet again for motivating me on a low Sunday. Get up. TC
hi lads, first off love the vids, Been sailing for the past twenty years almost, so I would like to give some advice to make sure you guys stay safe. You guys reacted quite fast which is good however it looked quite unsafe from the angle of the camera. Although I would say that unless the guard rails are entirely underwater yall will be fine, unless you guys are completely confident in your ability to handle such situations I would STRONGLY advise to reduce sail and maybe take a reef on the main. Especially when there are 25+ knots, as it is quite usual to have gusts that are 30-35+ when there is such winds. Stay safe boys, and keep sailing!
Yo I was the boy yous met in Lochgilphead i was going to ask for a pic after but it was in the Chinese so I didn’t want to bother yous but it was nice meeting yous I hope all your future journeys go great
@@OutsideYourZone to be honest I thought you'd be concentrating on your travels up north! .... But I'm trying to get out more , it's been way too minimal recently
@@OutsideYourZone maybe if you have any dates your thinking of getting to the lakes or Wales even. Just ping it over and of its possible for me I'll see if I can join you. .....any amount of notice. Any month. Just shout.
Always take the fenders in when sailing lads better to drop a sail or reef early, all part of knowing your boats limits though, so well handled and well done. ✊🏻🏴

Excellent video! New subscriber here sent over by Chris from "Chasing Latitudes". Great comments here, you guys are truly "Outside Your Zone". Feels great doesn't it? Best wishes, Kirk.⛵

YOU ALL NEED LIFELINES,TRAIN FOR MAN OVERBOARD, learn to shelter your rigging and dont push the old girl too hard, learn to navigate, get electrics n lighting sorted, navigation lights etc.
It’s funny that you’re eating marshmallows. Just earlier today I was watching a video of foods you wouldn’t eat. If you knew how and what they’re made of. Marshmallows was one of them 😂 Good luck with your ventures 👍👍👍👍
We have an AIS transmitter but don’t have a receiver but like they boys said we will when we go round the world and we will also have personal AIS MOB transmitters
No way near captzie lol spent alot of years racing yachts , winches be in the water , boom in the sea. As the yacht gets to certain heel wind will split of the sails. Be more worried about the mast coming down
I hope by now you have learned to reef much sooner. You will destroy your sails and rig if you don't learn this valuable lesson. Getting the toe rail in the water is bad and for beginners it may be exciting but it gives you no extra speed and strains your boat unnecessarily. Keep a comfortable point of sail and never "beat up your boat".
I love how you guys are representing the LGBTQ+ community with your aspirations to sail the world, explore and adventure with each other. Credit to you boys, you should be proud.

The boat hull may take it, but the standing rigging may not. Always reef to be on the safe side.
You’re doing well boys.

Aye you never know what might happen
Love the videos guys stay safe and have fun I will continue watching and cheering you on keep up the good work y’all!!!

Really enjoy watching this, but you have to take the fenders in when you're underway, especially when under sail
Aye we noticed they were out when we watched the footage, never again!

Great stuff guys
Cheers pal
‘…but as always, the sea was about to teach us another valuable lesson’ 😂🧡
Hard to capsize, the sails reach an angle 📐 which makes wind blow off top of sail then weight of Keel pulls boat back .
Good lads love nz

Git up Maria

You never know what goes on on that boat once the camera stops rolling
Sailing is serious learn about shifting your weight stop wasting resources by wizzing around in the dinghies enjoy life but don't lose it
Cheers for the advice mate ❤️
For chrissake take some lessons on sailing before you break the boat or yourselves or both. Your experiences have taught you nothing yet.
Cheers Amal
Joke sailors or what😂😂😂😂😂
