Hello OYZ! My mate Lindsay Henderson just texted me to watch the video of your encounter with him and JayGee. I sail with him quite often since we met at Dalgety Bay sailing club almost 20years ago. How time flies! He was the only other guy in the club with a multihull and my catamaran ended up next to his on the hard. That boat is a Corsair F31. She regularly sails in the high teens. In the last two summers I've helped him sail the Caledonian Canal, starting from Dalgety Bay, Fife. On the 1st summer, we did the leg from Nortt Berwick to Peterhead in 11hrs, non-stop. Winds were good the whole way so double figures speeds most of the time. This time as we passed Banff, we got to above 20kts for a time. That was my first time at 20+ on a sailboat! I get annoyed with mine sometimes because at 24ft, she tops out at 14. 😂 I keep my boat at Gourock, but Port Bannatyne is my "go to" weekend away. So am very familliar with the Anchor. Lindsay introduced me to your channel on the Caledoian in '22 and since then we've watched several or your videos together. I love your enthusiasm and the joy from all your "first times"... and the epic music you add to your shots. Your joy when Lindsay said "Love the channel" brought a lump to my throat. If I ever pass you in my cat, I'll be sure to shout "O.Y.Z!" ❤
HERO! This is what our channel is all about, connecting people over a shared love of adventure. Thanks so much for the comment, it filled my heart as I read it! Thanks so much for being involved with our journey, we hope to one day sail alongside you in your magnificent cat! The adventure to Peterhead sounds like the mission of a lifetime! My great grandfather was from Peterhead and he spoke of it fondly. Fair winds mate, OYZ 🧡 P.S I can’t believe Lindsay has been with us since all the way back to our Caledonian series! What a mission that was! So glad to have seen his rapid vessel, it really made our day/week/life!
Returned home to my GF and declared that I should henceforth be referred to as "Lindsay the Legend". She wasn't having it. I suggested a compromise of just "The Legend". She still wasn't having it. Well at least words to that effect.
“Drop the main sail to stop Rams getting slapped up”.. 😂👌. What an epic, lads! Love ittt 😁. What a way to spend a birthday, Rob! Catch you’s all soon hopefully 😃😃🍺👍
Yes mate! will be at boat life! We even have 2 free tickets to give away for free so stay tuned 🫡. If you don’t want to risk not getting the random giveaway you can use our code outsideyourzone for discounts on tickets! Hopefully see you there🧡
Firstly, happy belated birthday Rob mate. 🍻 Another epic mission lads. Gorgeously filmed and edited as always. The drone shots really showed the scape of where you were. Those dolphins were class. Keep up the great work lads, love what you're doing. 👏 👏 👏
Great sailing, great scenery! The Blue Spurr in full sails looks majestic as always. The dolphins love it as well! Will You also show some of the maintenance work You'll have to do or already did in the winter?
We will do, all in good time! We still have to show you our IOM series which is coming up now that the Hebrides series has finished, and then it’s straight in with all the footage from the progress we’ve made!
You gotta tighten up your rigging boys! At around 10:21 you can see your port side standing rigging going slack then tight, this is not good for the rig! It’s shock loading everything. You should snug everything up a bit more so your rigging lasts longer.
Don’t worry cus, we always appreciate the support. On the drive for a new release or something? Been popping your head above the parapet too much for there to be nothing in the works 😉
@@OutsideYourZone cmon lads! 💪💪 haa you know it man . Years of content due to start being put on here in all the right ways 🎬📽️ many timeless visualisers en route for years of recorded music 🤫 never too busy to catch a OYZ upload tho 🔥🔥⛴️⛴️ keep it up boys. Videography is insane btw, yous dont get enough credit for that and the editing of these
Looks like you boys had quite the adventure out there. One thing I will suggest is before long getting into port, get a big electric fan pulling air out of the boat, get that engine bay opened up and attack it with some brake parts clean and scrub brushes, having a clean motor makes it so much easier when something goes wrong, and it makes it much easier to identify the problems when they happen. Also they make rubber anti slip mat that will go great on your shelves to keep everything from slamming and banging when the seas get up.
Me and my father went through the Corryvreckan back in 2013 and it took us an hour at full steam against the tide lol. Not big or clever, I didn't realise at the time how dodgy it could be (my dad was the one with more experience so im guessing he knew something i didn't, maybe) . Some of the whirlpools were 30ft across at least and in the centre they was easily concaved by a foot or two down, mental site. We came up past Jura on our left hand side and even when we was about 7 miles away you could already see the little Eddie's starting to build, was a really calm day so could see tiny ones like 50P size getting bigger the nearer we got. Some of the best sailing we ever did up round there. I'm well jealous of what you have to come on your trip across the pond, that's on my bucket list yet. Where are you crossing from ? the canaries with the annual Arch race/group crossing ? or going it alone ? Another class film, cheers guys. OUTSIDE YOUR ZONE !!!!
Brilliant entertaining vid. There were still obstacles between the team and dinner has made me laugh all day. Who ever is narrating is a genius. Keep living the dream.
Yet again another win for the OYZ boys. What started as a few videos is now turning into a lifestyle. Show me better content of a simular nature, I'll wait all week long. If your new to the channel have a look through the old videos before the hype started. Stella content there. Young blokes living life properly and inspiring others along the way. Just ordered my OYZ mug so everytime I have a brew I get reminded of what matters. Get outside my zone. ❤
What a cracking video lads 👍and I'm not even into boats, your looking like you know what your doing, you know your living the dream when you include spam fritters in ur diet 🤭 take care lads, keep going outside your zone and ad usual, "GET SOME OYZ"👍😎⛵️
Hate to be a party pooper boys ! I love your vids! However , when cooking langoustine , the water should absolutely be boiling , boiling hot ! Otherwise , it’s a fairly unpleasant death! Fair winds!

Top work lads, great to see the dolphins. It would be cool if you had a camera mounted under the water for stuff like that
Great idea, maybe something like a gopro on a pole? We should’ve clipped in and braved the chop for the shots!!
@@OutsideYourZone Yeah exactly. Probs need a strong mount on the pole to keep the camera on it in those seas

That boat in the canal was a Fisher 37….. absolutely my favorite boat of all times. Absolutely a beauty…. Someday….someday
We love the fishers. I’d prefer a 42 than a 37 though
