- Amazon Author Central is probably the most underutilized feature of Amazon by Authors, and yet it is a great opportunity for authors to sell books, gain attention, and market their business. Amazon Author Central even lets you post videos that don't have to be about your book on that page. If you are an author and you're not taking full advantage of all that Amazon has to offer on the Author Central page, then this video is a much watch.
You're going to learn how to update your Amazon Author Page, where to create your personalized Amazon Author Page URL, and some of the important distinctions between what you would put on your Amazon Author Central page vs your book specific author information pages.

Useful video! I'm trying to improve my Amazon Author Central Page all the time. One thing I've learned in the past year is to not sleep on the international versions of Amazon, either, especially the other English-language countries. The international Amazon pages aren't all as functional as the American version (it varies), but I found it helps to also set up your page at Amazon UK and the others. I now get 25-40% of my sales internationally, even though most of my books are pretty American-centric, and setting up the other Amazon author pages really did move the needle.
This is a great tip! Amazon has just recently started to bring the Amazon reviews from the international sites onto your Amazon page in the US (they've been featuring Amazon.com reviews on pages in other countries like Amazon.ca for awhile but it didn't go the other way until recently). I hope they make things a little easier for us to manage across countries soon ... but until then, you are right!! :) GREAT TIP! Thank you.

As a newbie, I took your advice to heart and set up my Author Central Page and personalized my URL as well.
Since I don’t have a Website at this time, I’m using my personalized link in my Instagram & FB postings to drive traffic back to my Author Central Page. I even used the link to create a QR Code for my electronic business card and electronic marketing materials.

Hi, Love your videos. I just tried to do the Pretty Link Thing and there's no such location under the profile tab. It's Dec 2, 2020, and Amazon has a new Beta for Author Central Accounts. Don't see any place to do this now. Can you please update this video with HOW TO do things while using the New Beta? Thanks, Don.

I need to work on mine. Unfortunately someone has the same name as me so author central tries linking the horrible books to mine...seeing something that looks like it came from Rocky Horror Picture Show next to my children's book is frightening 😱 I tried working on it at one point, but got overwhelmed with it while trying to plan a 2k mile move. But Im settled in now, so now I'll need to apply your tips and fix mine! Thanks for another great video Julie!

I do! Write blog posts that are relevant to your book - but ultimately i think video is the best addition.
On my author central profile I don't see the option to change my url link. I'm new to this could you give me a little help.
I have a new video coming out - they changed it and I think they removed this option!

I believe so! I haven't done it myself but i can't really see why there would be an issue.
Thanks for this - try as I might though, I cannot find the "Author Page URL" link to customise the URL. I can see where to add books, photos and videos but nothing to add/change the URL.
Try this: From Author Central, click the Profile tab. Click “add link” next to the Author Page URL text.

I have encountered a major issue. An author with the same first name as mine accidentally added his book to my account. But the scary part is his email got linked with my account and he can freely access my account. He didn't have my login or password details. I'm worried about my account security. What should I do?
Contact Amazon and investigate it.

Like I tell people, I update my Amazon Author Page every couple of years whether I need to or not. (I always need to)
Concerning the author bio...do you recommend brevity or something more thorough (and lengthy)?
I think punchy and to the point is ALWAYS best ... too long and people will never read it. That said, it doesn't have to be as short as the one you might put on the back of your book. Hello, i had entered 3 pen names at my author central account so i create a new one but to do that i create a new kdp account! (without entering any personal informations) and i'm afraid now if that can shut down my account. i didn't create kdp account at kdp.amazon.com, i just sign in with the new email.
And how can i use the same kdp account for two author central account?
please answer me.
