Make Moisturizing Milk Bath Bombs with Butter Chunks!

- I’m showing you how to make comforting & moisturizing milk & butter bath bombs. The weather is turning cold so I wanted to share a relaxing bath bomb that's great for dry or chapped skin. These bath bombs are stunning, perform great in the tub, & have little chunks of butter that slowly melt in the water providing a moisturizing & relaxing milk bath! Yummy!
RECIPE: 2 cups baking soda, 1 cup citric acid, 1 cup milk powder (I used coconut), ½ cup clay (I used kaolin), 1/8 cup titanium dioxide (this makes the water an opaque white, just like milk). + 3 teaspoons fragrance oil, 2 teaspoons polysorbate 80, 2 teaspoons oil (I used vitamin E). Sieve dry ingredients together. Coat 20 grams of butter (I used capuacu) with 2 tablespoons of dry mix. Cut the butter into desired size chunks then coat the newly sliced chunks with powder. Repeat. Put butter chunks in the dry ingredients. In a small cup, whisk wet ingredients together. Add wet to dry slowly while whisking (the slower the better)! Then rub mix between your hands to ensure ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. ** Squeeze mixture; it should stay together to form a solid clump! OPTIONAL: Divide batch evenly into 2. For different reactions in the water, add 1/8 cup of sodium lauryl sulfoacetate to one batch. For different colored swirls, add additional color to other batch. {Take ¼ Cup of mix. Add mica & 2 teaspoons oil (vitamin E) (so mica doesn’t become airborne & you don’t inhale it). Mix this, then add it to the other batch. MOLDING: Place some mix in, then sprinkle just a tiny bit of decorative salt on the very edges. ** Don’t put too much or the salt will not fuse with the mix & will eventually fall out. The amount of salt & how many times you apply is all up to you! Repeat for other half. Smoosh 2 sides firmly together until both molds touch all the way around. Tap both sides with spoon to release bomb. Dry for 24 hours. SALTS: Add 1 drop brown to 1/4 cup Epsom salt & mix. Spray alcohol to loosen the color then mix until salts are even. Add the salt & mica to a container with a lid & shake. This is so you don’t inhale the mica. If you want to fuse the salt to the bomb so it doesn’t fall off, simply melt some butter (I used capuacu). Add butter where you want the salt. Then place salt on top. Gently push it into the butter. Wait about 15 seconds until its dry. The salts are glued in place & are not going anywhere! I really enjoyed this bath bomb & my skin felt very soft & moisturized.

You are so welcome Pam!!! Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!
This is 1 of my favorite bath bombs. I always come watch this video from time to time. 🥰
Same here. It's so elegant.
Coating the butter with dry mix is a brilliant idea!!!! I think you may have saved my Christmas gifts.
I've been making a lightly foaming bath salt mix to give as gifts, but for my skin it's a touch drying so I added grated cocoa butter to a test portion. It felt wonderful to soak in but the cocoa butter all clumped together.
You're a lifesaver!!!
Always happy to help!
Amazing 🤩 as always
Thank you so much 😀
They're beautiful, Dora! 🤗
Thank you Tara!
Dora you're just the best. Lovr you creativeness 💖
🤗
Hello, I love this video and my mom has recently been interested in making her own soap/bath bombs! So, she and I watch your videos together. You come up with the best ideas! 🤩
Well thanks so much! Glad you both have been enjoying them! 😊
Awesome recipe. I'll be sure to use this one!

Hi bby girl im in love, your so amazing, im so happy to watch this channel grow 😊😊😊😊
Wahooo! Thank you Yazmine!
Hi Dora !!! I love ur videos!!! I’m just getting into making bath products. Can u link the interference gold mica pls. I can’t find it anywhere. Thank u
I’m so happy I found your channel!! Super thankful for everything you share. I’m making these as soon as I can!! 😅🥹
😘
Hi Dora! What a wonderful recipe!! These are beautiful 😍 I love the idea of putting little chunks of butter inside! Can other butters be used also, or is there a particular reason you chose that one? I think you should publish a recipe book 😃 Thank you for these videos. Always happy when I get a notification!!
Thanks so much love! Use any butter you want. I used that 1 bc it smells amazing, like caramel or something sweet & decadent + it’s amazing for skin!
These are the classiest ones I've seen yet.
I made these today and somehow my mix turned reddish so I made my salt red also. They came beautiful. Red is my favorite color. I've been doing your projects all day. Thank you. 🥰
Wonderful!
@@CreativeBathLabI realized mine came out the color they did because I used rose clay. Lol
Hey Dora great video!
Thank you! -Momo
😘
So, I'm wondering about the stability of the "butter". (In higher temps)... wouldn't there be issues with melting? Would cocoa butter chunks work? Or would they not melt as well in the water? Just curious.. I'd love to try this. Thanks!
Great🍾 🔥🔥🔥
😊
You are pretty darn CREATIVE! I need to get supplies, I want to make bath bombs and bubble bars. I have always bought these from LUSH, but it’s too expensive now.
Thanks so much& yep, it’s too expensive! Precisely why I started making my own!!!
What size cups are those your using for the liquid?
Hey Dora! My Amazon cart is full of ingredients to get started. Your rose gold bombs reminded me of the planet Saturn. I've been watching all of your videos and wondered if you've ever tried making bombs based on planets? It would be fun to have a collection of them on display in the bathroom.
Hey Madge! It's funny you asked that because I am a galactic/universe nerd! Like BIG TIME! I made a galaxy one but never thought about making a planet one... That's actually a great idea! It is going on my to-do list!!
Hi Dora! Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and skills! Your video are fabulous and helpful! Question: is it ok to use brown mica for the salt? I don’t have any liquid dye in brown ☹️
YW! Yes!
Hello Dora, I simply love making your Bath Bombs. I am finding this all brings so much joy to my life. I have made the Milk and Butter Bath Bomb’s twice. On both occasions they feel to dry to me and crumble. I get about 50% of the bombs from the mix. I am wondering if there is anything that you can put into the stainless steel mold to release the bomb easier? Also, what can I do to give the mix more moisture? My grandkids just love that I am doing this. Next I want to tackle the Galaxy Bath Bomb. Thank you so much for your wonderful shares. Your Bath Bombs are amazing and make great gifts.
Make small batches so mix doesn't dry out. This will help you: ua-cam.com/play/PLZ9mkRAAYRNMWeLwf1jGNE1v2W1RtNxOc.html
What type of butter? Can coconut oil be used instead of butter
Hi Dora,
Thank you for the lovely videos! The TD that you use here, is it water soluble or oil soluble?
I am not sure!
😍😍😍😍😍
They look amazing 🤩, I had a question 🙋🏽♀️ could the titanium dioxide be optional ?
Thanks. Absolutely! Totally optional!
Wow looking amazing and precious as always Dora. !!😻💓
Ps I’d I could get the butter you use. What is other option? 🙏🏻💓
i am not Dora, but you could use any hard butter, shea, cocoa, mango...using the dry hard butter instead of a liquid oil makes for less wet ingredients, and the hot water dispersing it is awesome! vitamin E is rich, so by using the hard butter it was good to use it. not too oily. just right! and then u get 2 beneficial skin oils with different benefits for the skin.
@@michelemichele5204 alright. Thank you. I would try this. 😄
Couldn't have said it better myself!
Hi Dora, the bath bombs look great, can I ask what size your moulds are please?
linked in description
Can you tell me what the purpose of the titanium dioxide is? I thought it was used as white coloring or to “brighten” but with a honey or oat recipe like a few I’ve seen you do, would whitening be the reason?
Yep. Makes water opaque & white like milk
Hey! Love this. How many bath bombs do you get out of this mixture?
I think 4
I have made something similar to this and my bombs for some reason come apart at the middle. Should I leave them in the molds for a few days before unmolding, or what the heck is wrong with my bombs??? helpppppppppppp
Whenever bombs come apart in the middle, its a molding issue. Lightly pack it when its filled to the top, then put loose on top. Smoosh 2 sides together. The loose mix on top fuses both halves together. when they break in the middle, something went wrong at this point.
Hey help me please... what is slsa? I'm from Spain thank ❤️🙏
Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa), sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), or sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI).
These are all bubble-makers (they make bubble bath).
oh also how do you pack yours if you wanted to mail them or ship them out?
I don’t ship because I don’t sell anything, but I’d think bubble wrap
Hi Dora, I was about to try making these milk& butter BB. Have a question, how you coat butter with dry ingredient? Doesn't the butter melt while doing it? Please help!!! ✌❤💖
Not at all. I suppose if you handle it a lot but all I am doing is slicing it with cold knife & coating it with the dry ingredients
@@CreativeBathLab thanks for the quick response. I'm trying it today. Will let you know how it turns out.
Great
This bath bomb is gorgeous! I really want to try this. So can you clarify- you used one of the micas (Warm Space Pearl) to color one batch of the mix, and the other mica (Interference Gold) to color the salts? Or did you use both micas in the salt?
Also, can I use cocoa butter instead of Cupuacu? I've bought SO many ingredients this month that I need to use what I've already got before I buy more. LOL. I'm obsessed!
Oh, nevermind, lol. I figured it out. The video is a little clearer than the directions. Interference Gold Mica and Warm Space Pearl Mica both go in the main mix, and then you divide the mix into two batches. One batch gets Warm Space. The salts also get Warm Space. Think I got it!
Thanks so much. Warm space pearl mica is the main one (the pretty one)
Thanks for tutorial. These are great. Is it ok if I make these and sell on my website? I don’t want to overstep.
Of course! ALWAYS! That's why I share my recipes, so you can make & sell & make that money, honey!
@@CreativeBathLab thank you so much
Could I use shea butter with this recipe ♥
Yes, absolutely
Omg I been looking for something like this... what's the shelf life once it's made?
6 months
@@CreativeBathLab thank you for responding!
You make the most beautiful gorgeous bath bombs.
😘
Question; i absolutely love the glitter look.. but when u get out of the tub do you look like a disco ball and need to shower after?
No, not for mica. Its really only ego glitter that gets stuck on you.
Could you Use Cocoa Butter?
Certainly
