Cocoa Butter Bath Bombs Are The Perfect Way To Pamper Your Skin!

- Today I'm going to show you how to make butter bombs, which are perfect for cold weather. These bath bombs have skin-loving ingredients like clay, milk powder, & the star ingredient- cocoa butter chunks. As the butter chunks drift away from the bomb they slowly melt in the water, leaving your skin soft & moisturized.
First, prepare butter. Use hard butter, like cocoa, kokum, or cupuacu butter. The amount added is up to you. Sprinkle a bit of corn starch if it sticks together. Chop butter into tiny pieces or pulse it 2-3 times (blender). Not too long though because it will melt.
RECIPE: 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup citric acid, 1/4 cup clay (kaolin), 1/2 cup milk powder (coconut), 1/2 tablespoon SLSa {Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate}, 1 tablespoon titanium dioxide, 35 grams chopped butter (cocoa butter). + 10 milliliters fragrance, 5 milliliters carrier oil (jojoba), 5 milliliters water, 10 milliliters polysorbate 80.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Baking soda & citric acid are responsible for fizzing reactions in water. Substitute any beneficial ingredient for a different one, like a different milk powder or clay, colloidal oatmeal, aloe vera powder, etc. Or just replace it with baking soda or corn starch. OPTIONAL: The titanium dioxide makes the water an opaque white. The SLSa makes the bath bomb last longer and adds foam & lather. Use any carrier oil; I used jojoba. Substitute fragrance oil for essential oil or carrier oil (or both). I recommend using water as it makes the bath bomb hard. I recommend using polysorbate 80; it's particularly effective at emulsifying heavy oil & butter with water.
Sieve dry ingredients together. Mix wet & dry ingredients separately. Add wet ingredients slowly while whisking, then mix the batch. Then thoroughly mix & knead it with your hands. The mixture should hold together when squeezed. Now add the butter chunks & mix.
MOLDING: Fill the mold & pack it. Sprinkle loose mix on top. Repeat for other side. Smoosh the 2 sides together tightly (until molds touch all the way around). Tap both sides with a spoon to release the bomb. Dry them for 24-48 hours, then shrink wrap them.
Recipe makes 3.5 bath bombs. Bombs last up to a year but are best fresh as they lose effervescence over time.
The butter chunks melt slowly & turn into small pools of oil on top the water that eventually disappears. You're left with soft, velvety, & milky-white water. Now just sit back & relax! Afterwards my skin was soft & moisturized. There may be an oil ring around the tub but it easily wipes off.
The "glamorous" butter bath bomb: Make the same exact recipe. Split the mix in half. Add gold mica & 1/8 cup Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate to 1 batch & nothing to the other. Mold the bomb in a "layered" or "swirled" pattern.

@@CreativeBathLab I’m waiting for my supplier to open back up after the New Years and then I will order some cocoa butter also while we’re chatting could I ask you a massive favour please?could you advise me on a preservative that’s a good all rounder please? As preservatives I haven’t really looked into as I mainly do bathbombs and bubble bars and shower bombs all haven’t called for a preservative but I’ve been browsing your Chanel and omg you have some lovely bath creations but some call for a preservative but could I use one preservative for all my diy bath creations or do I need different ones for different projects many thanks Dora for all your glittery sparkly delicious creations and thanks for sharing your recipes much love x
Are you still shimmery after drying off with a towel? Or would airdrying guarantee a better effect? Love your videos they are incredibly helpful!!!
What fragrance oil do you use? Do you recommend any specific companies?
Hi Dora, love everything you make❤, is ok to add water even though we are not adding a preservative?
Ciao Dora!!! Posso sciogliere i 35 gr di burro di cacao invece di lasciarli a pezzettini?
That color would be pretty in a body oil.
Great, tks. Do you have a recipe for a bath bomb with salt and epsom salt?
Funny you should ask that. I'm just now getting back into adding salts again. I can do that right now while its cold & the humidity is down. The first time I tried it- it was a disaster! Ever since then I've stayed away from salt.
Do you have a good recipe that can be used with a bath bomb press?
Sorry, I've never used one of those before
Happy New Year
Happy new year

I HEARD THAT! lol I live very close to New Orleans. I need to come see you one of these days & drop off some bath bombs! Email me @ creativebathlab@gmail.com so I can get your address & perhaps plan a trip! I'll contact you first. I HATE drop byes with no warning! lol so I never do that to anyone.
@@CreativeBathLab Girl yes I'll be happy to see you. Oh i will email you sis.
Ciao Dora!!
Do you see a visible impact on skin? How long does it last?
There is no visible impact on skin. It just makes skin softer & smoother... Mine lasted a few hours for sure. Maybe longer. IDK I went to sleep after.

Thanks.
Sounds like they're actually worth the extra.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year Dora! Thank you for all you have shared with us all year. You need a Patreon or a “buy me a coffee” account
I have both of those! I am not quite ready to go public with my Patreon acct. tho.
Found it and bought you a few! You deserve them- NatyG
Now I’m going to make these. My skin looks like that gator skin right now! 😫

I love you 😍
I love ya back!
