  • After a multi year hiatus, I am finally doing it. The turbo build is on. Close to 7 years of prep and building, collection parts, and its all finally ready to go on. This is only the introduction, but it talks about the plans of the car, the parts, and my end goal.
So, this is the start to my low boost Toyota MR2 Spyder turbo build using the Top Secret turbo kit running the Greddy Trust T517z Turbo.

I am right at the same point you are. I've been acquiring parts for my mr2 spyder turbo project for about 3 years and I'm to the point where I am just waiting for some warmer weather to come around before I start the install. I'll be following along with your progress and am looking forward to the videos!!!

hahahaha boost it til it blows! Mines at 8psi making 200hp. i am going to crank it to 10 then 12 while monitoring AFR's. Also running an emanage blue, which is not the best, but does the job. Impressive little car for what it is.

Absolutely! Your benefit is you have knock control which will help out a lot! I just have a cel that flashes once a knock threshold is reached... that’s normally too late. Lol

I see you had invested your time and efforts in PFC for control, but... Have you considered other options? Even basic aftermarket ECU capabilities today are way beyond what PFC can offer...

Plug and play is a big factor. The pfc is a direct replacement for the stock ecu and plugs directly into the harness. Most other options require a harness to adapt it. With that said, I’ve also had the pfc for close to 10 years, so times were different when it was purchased. Being able to tune based off map sensor would have been incredible. Same with a legitimate autotune. That and knock control..
