      Technically, Versatile built it

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  3 роки тому +6

      Ford designed the Genesis. Ford acquired Versatile in 1986. The high horse power tractors production for Ford was transferred from Troy Michigan to Antwerp Belgium in 1989 to built the 30 series that replaced the TW series. In 1993 high horse power tractors were moved from the Ford/New Holland plant in Belgiumto the Ford/New Holland plant in Canada.

    I used to work for a farmer when I was young and drove a 8970 set on 30" rows. It would pull with a John Deere 8400 he also had but would not turn with it. The 8970 also had super steer. I liked driving both until you turned around. We was pulling 20' 3 point chisel plows extra deep 5 mile an hour. Keep the great videos coming. I like mobrord plowing but I like all tractors.

      2wd tractors were very common here until about 30 years ago. FWA was not even a common option until the early 1980’s. The tractor in this video is mainly used to plant corn with a 24 row corn planter. If the ground is even slightly wet it’s not good plant corn so 4wd is not needed. When it comes to plowing is a slow process so all tractors on the farm get used. This farm has 4 articulated 4wds over 400 hp. Those are the main tillage machines. This 2wd model is just an extra helper.
