  • The Queen of the Fairies is sometimes named Queen Mab, depending on the source material. She's also known as the Queen of Elfland, the Queen of Elphame, and Titania.
So who is Mab? Does she come from English folklore, or is Mab the name given by playwrights and poets to the Queen in folklore?

This is cool! I’d only ever know of this character as Titania, it’ll be fun learning more about her. Thanks for sharing your research!

Near the centre of Leeds there is an area called Mabgate (which included before its conversion to flats a cracking pub called 'The City of Mabgate Inn').
Apparently, this area was the red light district of mediaeval Leeds - and this particular street (gate) was frequented by ladies of the night known locally as 'mabs'.

@@FabulousFolklore 11 years ago I cursed my sister. She lost her child inside of her womb. They cut her open and closed her back up and she got sick. They left pieces of her unborn child inside her. She got better but can't have children. I was drunk and playing with curses. I was stupid and young. Fed my blood to a toad, played with stones and circles. Had a very unique piece of obsidian in the shape of a square. Now I am cursed and have multiple personalities. I hear things. My life is difficult. Must have been very funny for the entity I contacted to taste some power. Anyways I need to go. I have things to do.
