This is oftentimes my most played guitar. While I prefer the sound of my Martins and lose a touch of bass with this Taylor, they cannot compete with the impeccable action of my 816 Builder’s. It has definitely become my go to fingerstyle guitar.
Just found your UA-cam channel yesterday and immediately subscribed. You are a great player and you play styles which highlight the capabilities of the guitar you are reviewing. This new Taylor guitar intrigues me because it is a short scale large body guitar that is not a J-45 clone. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future! Well done!!
Lance, love your music. Question about the Taylor 816. How does that larger body feel when playing finger style compared to your smaller guitars and would this guitar be good for finger style playing?
guitarlancer Maybe you could make it into a full fledged tune. Really caught my ear and made the synapses in my brain fire off in a wonderful feeling. 😊
🔵 thanks ❕I have one 16 series 616 LTD in Carpathian spruce over Macassar Ebony and it's pretty amazing tones ; but this one show cased has the new modified bracing and of course the fancy cut away and sound port ; still not a fan of an all matt finish but I understand the tone improvement theory , but don't really agree with that part ❕😊 🐸
Excellent evaluation with great points on highlights..

Thanks for the comment. With the nut and string spacing pretty much the same, I don't feel a difference much.
That is a purdy guitar!
Nice sound!
Excellent video!!!!
It could be due to new strings but , sorry, I think it sounds quite tinny!
How does this 816 compare to the 717?
This channel deserve more subs 😞
IND FINGeRSTYLeR why yes it does. Hehehe
Nice guitar and demo. What is the name of the fingerpicking song right after you strum?
That was just an improvised pattern over a chord progression.

How’s compare with 326ce?
Yes, I have the same question.
