Joe Bonamassa is a fantastic blues guitarist & vocalist. He opened for BB King at the age of 12, & BB said that Joe has just ''got it''.....even at that young age.
@@ToniaElkins Well worth checking him out. ''I'll Play The Blues For You'', & ''Just Cuz You Can, Don't Mean You Should'' are a couple of my many favourites.
And he surrounds himself with great artists, the brass and drums for example are top notch. He also has Mahalia Barnes as a backing singer and front on 'Riding with the kings'.
Being a kid of the 70’s & 80’s in Australia I was more into AC/DC & Iron Maiden and didn’t really rate Jimmy Barnes or Cold Chisel, but now as a 58yr old, I have come to appreciate Jimmy the way I should’ve as a kid. It’s through reactions like this that I’m discovering & appreciating all kids of different music. Thanks
We definitely appreciate things differently as we get older. Doing reactions I’ve seen so many artists I’d never heard of before and it’s really exciting! 🥰 (The video I posted right before this one gives an idea of all the different types of things I like to jam out to if you’re interested)
Thanks heaps for the amazing reaction. Joes guitar skills combined with Jimmy’s vocals is off the charts. Check out Jimmy Barnes doing a duet with the late Tina Turner “simply the best”
Jimmy Barnes is definitely an Aussie battler! he comes from working class background His music appeals to working class and he has never forgotten where he comes from. 💪.
Hes very much the family man who loves his wife and kids. He was a heavy drinker when he was young which is pretty common for us Aussies but when you see him with his wife Jane and their kids its a beautiful thing to see. 😊
Jimmy can do anything ! He is truly amazing ! Plus with Joe, what a combination ! Since we lost the great Gary Moore, i didn't think anyone would pick up and continue , but Joe has stunned the world and we have to be thankful , that the blues is in safe hands ! Peace out from down under 😎✌
This song was written by Don Walker, the keyboardist from Cold Chisel. Should do Jimmy's and Joes's version of the Deep Purple song "Lazy.' Brad Whitford, the guitarist out of Aerosmith plays with them as well.
Wait till you see Joe Bonamassa with Jimmy's daughter Mahalia Barnes doing riding with the Kings she sounds like Aretha Franklin , the drummer in this clip is another one of Jimmy's kids Jack Barnes .Jimmy is on the mend after heart surgery his 13 yr old Grand Daughter Ruby stood in for him on stage when he was in Hospital and made the Cold Chisel Classic Flame Tress her own
Joe is a guitar prodigy who opened shows for the legendary BB King at age twelve. He was also lead guitar in the supergroup, Black Country Communion, which had Deep Purple bassist/vocalist as lead singer and Jason Bonham on drums (John Bonham of zeppelin fame's son). Oh, and that is Jimmy's son, Jackie playing drums on this track.
Hi welcome to our greatest rock singer EVER especially ere in Australia... I'm from Perth Western Australia and have listened to Cold Chisel where Jimmy was the lead singer until he went solo in the 80s and this has made him a complete LEGEND ere in Australia... Jimmy Barnes is a GREAT VOCALIST and he'll shock you with many of his songs... and just to add Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes are reuniting and touring Australia for their 50thyr Anniversary and I can't wait till they come to Perth...so glad that we're going to get to see them back on stage all together again ❤❤
Thanks for this reaction Tonia, Jimmy is one of my favourite human beings and singers too. This song was an updated version of this track which Jimmy did to celebrate 30 years as a solo artist for his 30:30 Hindsight album. The original song used the guitarist from Cold Chisel, Ian Moss, and is more of an acoustic rock version than this, which is more on Jimmy's soul/blues side. It is interesting to note that the drummer on this video is Jimmy's son Jackie and one of the female background singers is his daughter Mahalia (the other is Tina Arena).
Really strongly suggest you use the live version from 'Hey, Hey, Saturday', The music video is great, but Barnsey and Farnsey should be seen live, where they (and Johnny Diesel in this song) shine the brightest. Another must see with Joe features Beth Hart's vocals on 'I'd Rather Go Blind', live from Amsterdam. Beth is the female version of Jimmy Barnes, complete with soulful, meaningful vocals, substance abuse struggles in youth, and a long term marriage. She is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist. I'e also suggest her original 'Thankful' and her cover of Sam Cooke's 'A Change is Gonna Come', live at the Echoplex.
Hey Tonia, great reaction. If you like the guitar you should check out Tommy Emanuel’s guitar solo called “classical gas”. Tommy is an Australian icon with his guitar. You will enjoy it. Cheers darling 🎸
Funny you say 'feels like home' 'cos so many reactors to this song, talk about how comfortable they are with it, they sometimes say they almost know what's coming. Great reaction, yep Jimmy's a treasure and Bonamassa? I reckon he's the best Blues guitarist in the world today (and not just Blues) and I could tell you could feel that. Best from Oz. 👍
Thank you so much for this comment. I truly do just love Jimmy so much. And I’m brand new to Joe Bonamassa but I really like him so far. I haven’t seen other reactions to this but I’m not surprised they feel that way. I think when a song & artist can do that to you, it’s really special. ❤️
@@ToniaElkins My pleasure. For another brilliant performance from Bonamassa, you must check out Beth Hart & Joe B live in Amsterdam, covering Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind". Beth will also blow your mind. Enjoy
Joe was a childhood prodege opening for BB King when he was 11 . Hes in my top three guitar players of all time and has more No1 blues hits than anyone. Joe has worked with the Barnes for a while now . Mahalia Barns , Jimmy's daughter , has done a lot of back up vocals for Joe and features in a song called Riding with the King . Shes a little powerhouse as you would expect . Jacky Barns , Jimmy's son, also played the drums on this track to.
Joe is the eat your heart out Neal Schon type of guitarist. Neal is a brilliant player but Joe is just that couple of steps up from Neal. This song has to be very close to being my all time favourite song, mainly I think as well I’m an Aussie and music is and has been my passion for as long as I can remember. My Dad was a player of all instruments, so I was lucky enough to grow up in a house full of music. 🇦🇺😘
It's easy to imagine Jimmy singing this for his beloved wife Jane. Jimmy was on the verge of complete self-destruction when he met her. She changed his life, turned him around and saved him from being yet another young dead legend.
Love this reaction, I have been a fan of Jimmy forever. When you said you have been sheltered it caught my interest. May i lead you on to some heavy metal? I would love if you could react to "Bismark" by sabaton😊
You really should check out Joe Bonomassa & Beth Hart performing "I'd Rather Go Blind" Live in Amsterdam. Joe Bonomassa performing "Midnight Blues" live at the Beacon Theater is amazing too!
Her: Where is he?, What's he doing? He should've finished work ages ago, why isn't he home yet? He better not be at the pub or cheating... Him dragging himself home, walkin up the hallway with what little strength he has left from a 16hr double shift, barely able to even get his boots and socks off and the last thing going thru his mind before the exhaustion takes over:...Jimmy absolutely nails what he's thinking and Joe just speaks the feelings thru his guitar. We're not all just bein lazy ladies 😉Please think of this when you start goin off on him for whatever because this is how he feels about you, much love!
Tonia, not sure if you will ever read this. As a father of two awesome daughters and four grandchildren, I feel the pain in your heart and your daughters heart that you both carry. So as a man, I choose to stand in the gap and say sorry to you for the failure of men in your life and the pain they have caused you. God Bless and may He bring healing to the hearts of both of you.
