Finally a news station has done its homework by talking to some real people about the so-called nursing shortage. There are shortages of nurses available that are willing to work for low wages, work in deplorable working conditions, and take abuses from management and patients. How long can one stay in an abusive relationship? 🤔🤔🤔

I put up with the abuse for 20 years working as a BSN RN. Always on the floor. I am so disrespected and treated poorly by Managment for being a white male they won’t even listen to me to the point I can’t do my job. Complete 100% the very abuse they claim to be against. Only if you’re a woman or POC. The work and patients are SO EASY TO CARE FOR NOW.. and it’s worse. They keep making more and more nurses and just burningbtnrough them instead of fixing the problem that WOKE POLITICS IS A PROBLEM.

I'm a newly retired RN and agree it's a staffing problem which makes it even more stressful, both physical and emotional, for nurses.

Coming from a Hospital System myself, this is so accurate! I left during Covid and completely changed careers..Too stressful and underpaid are a couple issues. Hospital politics with these big companies are not fun to deal with as well.

There is no such a thing of a nursing shortage.....there are many agencies that provides nurses to hospitals....new grads and not all nurses are leaving the profession.....hospitals are saving money by no providing the adequate staff. there are plenty of nurses...is an administration issue

I retired 2017 and so happy I did before Covid. Would not recommend nursing as a career

Why don't you recommend? is it that bad? is CRNA better?

Honestly since the BSN degree is pushed so much, the quality of nurses has declined big time! They all want to pencil push and not do anything bedside! They don’t want to do real nursing anymore they think they’re above it!

Yep. I see this all time in my Dad's nursing home. They have all the pencil filled jobs filled with multiple applicants. Cooks and Nurse aids are few and far between.

Disagree. We want to get paid what we deserve. If you aren’t an actual Nurse you have no say in this.

You clearly have no idea about 'real' nursing.

@geneparmesan88 I go to the nursing home everyday to help my Dad (since they can't get everything done with all the patients). I'm an unpaid employee. I'm there 1/2 hour minimum to 2.5 hours maximum. I set him up on the laptop to play cards 3 times a week

@geneparmesan88 My Dad gets great care - everyone else - not so much. I'm only responsible for my Dad.

A news channel can’t even get the title of their own video correct.
    Top notch journalism here. Lol
