    I love mine, actually use it as a full time lamp in my apartment. And as an extra note- I have dropped it on a tile floor with no Ill effect.

      Good to hear you love yours too! It's an amazing little lantern. Good to know it has some drop resistant characteristics to it too! I have not dropped mine yet, but I know it will happen one day.

    Thanks JMG For your reply I will keep you informed I only want to use the light in my apartment as electricity bills are far too expensive in the UK…..👍🍷🍷🍷🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🍷🍷

      Sorry to hear they are so expensive over there. This little light sure puts out the light. I am sure you will be impressed. Maybe hook it up to a battery bank to make it last even longer.

    Hi I have changed from a goal zero flip 20 power bank to a goal zero 36 power bank because you get five hours charge a little extra power with a cost £50 but I think it is worth it.

    Got to let you know, Goal Zero lanterns are having a problem.
    The lights turn on by themselves and wont turn off.
    Happened to me last night. I checked the Goal Zero website and multiple complaints are in the review section.
    UA-cam also has a few vids on the subject.
    The only thing from Goal Zero is warranty replacement. no repair.
    Mine is 6 years old so they won't help. Others have stated that they live outside the US, and Goal Zero won't help them either.
    This is a very disturbing situation for those that have purchased these otherwise great lanterns.
    Hope Goal Zero comes around and gets us a fix!

    Hi JMG. You want information about my purchase well first is the Goal zero nomad 20 solar panel £180 and the Goal zero flip 20 recharger £35 the charger will only give me four hours charge but I can buy a more expensive recharger latter if needed, also the solar panel comes in three sections but I can add a new solar panel latter if needed good luck with your purchase.

  • @dapperdingo
    @dapperdingo Рік тому +2

    Sure wish that was a recharging solar panel going around the top instead of flashing red lights. Dangit!

    • @JMGENTERPRISES
      @JMGENTERPRISES  Рік тому +1

      Built in solar would be awesome! Yeah the LED safety lights are probably the weakest feature

    • @dapperdingo
      @dapperdingo Рік тому

      @@JMGENTERPRISES Other than that, the thing is awesome. The solar panel would make it to be likely the best lantern out there, as the lantern could sit on the dash of a van or camper, camp table, etc., during the day. The power saving features are exactly what I like most about it. Having a power consuming feature that is impractical, such as the flashing red lights, takes away from that. I would likely pay almost twice as much for it if it had solar charging.

    I've the 400 and loved it. Until it would ghost turn on wouldn't shut off. Looking online this seems to be a somewhat common issue. Only 2 years old. Any idea if Goal Zero addressed this issue with the 600?

      I didn't know about the ghost issue. Not sure if they corrected it with the 600. Hope they did though. So far so good with mine.

      I try and treat all my electronics with care. I've never dropped it or anything so can't speak for it's durability. But it seems very well built and solid.

    How strong is the glass? How likely to crack if it falls off a table or something?

    • @JMGENTERPRISES
      @JMGENTERPRISES  2 роки тому

      It's actually a very hard plastic and not glass. I have not dropped it so I cannot say how well it would hold up. It feels very sturdy and strong though. There is actually two layers of plastic, an outside layer and inside layer.

    I have this same one and have used it almost daily in my home for over 1 mo, I will say yes it brighter then most in this field, but with that also bulkier and larger/heavier than most. The light on full will light my living room enough where I can read if it’s near me, 3/4 or less lit it’s not really bright enough to do much but move about imo. The lights battery on full I find it varies, sometimes I get around 2 hrs other times 3 or so. I find the red strobe light a useless feature and when would you ever really need. The usb feature worked to charge my iPhone 6 a bit, but don’t expect more than about 16-19% charge as is how all these are. I will say this, to charge this light it’s beyond slowwwww, I’m talking over 3 hrs to go from even 80% to full and when dead count on waiting over 8 hrs for it to fully charge. Now compare that to other $10-22 lamps I have that charge full m in around 3 hrs. The “batt bar” indicator is nice and a feature most don’t have. I also find it weird that the usb plug to charge it is built in and very short. Most like this use a detachable Mini-usb and I like that bc then I can attach say a 6’ or longer cable and still use the lamp or move it around, with this one if you want to use when it’s charging you stuck with it 6” from the plug. It’s defiantly sturdy. I think it’s very over priced for what it is, especially compared to all the others priced $9-25 out there. I bought 5 diff brands/versions of these to see what was best and what I liked and this one def top 3 but also around 3-6x more in cost than all the others. I don’t know warranty info compared to the others nor where it’s made, obviously the cheaper ones mostly from China with almost no warranty. I hope this helps guys.

      @@JMGENTERPRISES That's still using the USB cable.
      Otherwise you could count hooking it up to anything that supplies 5V power and a USB port as another source, and you could bring that up to 25 sources.
