Her performance in Tár blew my mind and soul off. Just gripping, riveting, exquisite, powerful yet so so sad. And Nina Hoss?! Damn, her acting is stunning. @yessssand Рік тому +7

@@hts8420 It's fair. As you say, she is a great actor and she gave a great performance. So, I think the praises are also quite fair. For me, Nina was fabulous. My fav part about her performance is that she didn't flinch a bit. Because Cate has such a presence in a frame , it may be hard to even be visible sometimes. Yet, Nina's ability to remain subtly powerful against and besides Cate is strategically gorgeous. Plus, sometimes, she even seemed to be the main control of their relationship. Her performance is dynamic, futile, nuanced and simply clever. To add more, her eyes' work is outstanding. Her eyes stayed consistent. They were always in this atmosphere of constant judgement and calculation in every scene with Cate. I think her performance is outstanding.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, Tár is an incredible film. The kind of film that deserves repeat viewings for its mystery and a main character that’s so fascinating to watch. And Cate is an absolute force, which seems redundant given her enormous talent, but seeing her play a conductor that keeps you guessing is truly one of her best performances to date. I love Michelle Yeoh and I wouldn’t mind if she won. Andrea Riseborough is equally incredible and truly deserves to win as well. But there’s something about Cate’s performance that had me in sheer awe. The power she possesses onscreen is a sight to behold.

This movie should have won Oscar, lets not even talk about Cate Blanchett being CRIMINALLY ROBBED for not winning the leading role. She was absolutelly mindblowing in this film, it's incredibly incredibly difficult role yet Cate mastered it so realistically and beautifully that you believe her to be Tar in every scene, with every gesture, every look, every move. Just surreal, really. It's beyong SHOCKING that Academy didn't awarded her, instead they awarded Michelle for Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. I watched that film too and Michelle can't level up Cate Blanchett's performance, she can't come not even close to maestro talent Cate is and the performance she gave. She rather seems like a school student compared to Cate. I am still in shock, I kinda lost respect for Oscar this year; it seemed really more about politics than about awarding the best talent/best performance.

As a huge fan of Cate Blanchett as an actor and public persona, I agree she is amazing. I am thankful for UA-cam for sharing so much insight of her work, personality and influences. I too regret she did not get any Oscar recognition but it’s “just an award”.However, I doubt the little metal statue is why she does what she does which we admire her for including her previous remark of award shows being akin to horse races and telling it like it is.
I wish her true fans had a way of showing their appreciation other than just watching her performances. I am glad Michele was finally given recognition for her work after all these years as well.
Thank you for sharing this clip with us. ❤

One of my favorites with Cate Blanchet is Bandits. I think it must have come out the same day as Harry Potter or something. Definitely funny bone movie. She was brilliant in Elizabeth. The Oscar nod should have gone her way.

That's how good of an actress she is! I always thought she was British!
Hearing her dialogue from Lord of the Rings & her playing Queen Elizabeth I, non British actors can rarely pull off convincing accents like Cate can!

I was fascinated by Lydia from the first minute of seeing her, when she’s prepping to go on the interview. Cate Blanchett is a prodigy to bring her to life in such a raw way. Her performance is only comparable to Isabelle Huppert in The Piano Teacher. Complex, twisted female characters filled with pain and hate.
