So I’m a Floridian but Juicy is not a thing I’ve ever heard, and if it’s a “thing” it’s a cringe-y one 😂 I just can’t stop hearing “it’s juicy bro” (how I pictured it said) in my head and it sounds goofy af 🤣 and if this is a thing I’m glad to be 33 bc I could not hang with juicy as part of my regular speech
Can we get a biz talk about product cost and service cost….. I’m new to the nail biz and would love to know how to incorporate my product cost with my service fee
This info is priceless, I’m a new nail tech (working on my license but also taking some clients) and I legit wait for my twitch, IG, and UA-cam YN alerts. I know now so much about pricing and I’m literally working on my price list and was so anxious about it but all the info from YN has given me so much confidence on my price list and to charge what I should
My pricing is by length XS to XXL and I have 4 categories core , glitter/colour, French/ombre/Marble & encapsulated. I include an accent finger from core to French . For encapsulated nails is free expression. core , colour French get an accent of nail of foil or stamp . I price for my nail art $5 to $20. Crystal the amount starts at $15 to $150 if their want there hand bling out .
Honestly you must raise your prices. Since Covid ESPECIALLY because all other costs were and are presently being raised for everything. Food, production costs on making all products, delivery costs along with rent, interest rates on things…if you don’t raise your prices you will actually LOSE MONEY when you work. You can’t ever afford to lose money and 20 plus years in this business taught me you’re a business woman and business is business. If you’re not making money you’re losing it. The $5 increase is a great way to go, but remember, she also said she raised her prices sometimes only on the nail art! That never sounds the same to the clients. Especially when they look at the sparkling glitter! Try it that way.
I’m curious about the different type of nail techs. You got nail techs that only do hand art. Some nail techs only do stickers etc. but what about the ones who want to plain acrylic or plain gel set? Is there an audience for plain full sets
It's a personal preference which medium you choose. Using colored acrylics can give more dimension to the nail and you can do your designs in the nail for a more permanent look whereas using gel polish or painting the nail can be quicker and easier to change out. If your client prefers to change their designs out at every service, designs over the nail will be easier to change than designs in the nail.
It was great but is glitter 5 per nail or 5 extra for the set? Also how do you charge for crystals swarovski or regular crystals? I'm still learning as I don't charge for anything extra but I'm still practicing so I charge 20 for set but usually make more per set.
of course you need to charge extra for nail art, depending on time and also products used. take hairdressers: the price on the website (or whatever) might say: cut and color starting at $60, then they add conditioner, maybe they'll even talk you into a hair mask, head massage and so forth and then you end up paying $120. if it's transparent, I got no problem with that, but the client needs to know that extra work costs extra bucks, simple as that. all you need to say is: 'I'm happy to do that for you, but I charge xy$, is that ok?'
@@LinhVu-ei8me yeah like juicy gossip, that's fine and how I would expect it to be used besides describing food, but using it to like it's all good (putting juicy where good is) haven't heard it used that way.
@@youngnailsinc The conversation is about to reveal something really good. Great information. Great gossip. This going to be good. Also, in reference to the posterior... the Word evolves...🤷🏽♀️
Okay, so for context. Jorge is using "Juicy" in the same way people have been using "Gucci". Like to mean it's all good. What are your thoughts?
absolutely not LOL
That's a "how do you do, fellow kids?" moment for sure 🤣

I love biz talk with Tracey, but I enjoyed this episode so much.
I raised my prices and lost 3 clients, then 3 weeks later they came back because they couldn't get the same service or art
Great topic. Thank you.
Loved it!
Yay on time and ready!!
We wear glove now in covid . Yes out in public I get comments on my nails .
Could we get a video of the difference of your one step gels and your 3 step gels. Or can you share one if its already been made
One step gels don't require a base or top coat and the 3 step gels do.
But other then that they work about the same?
@@katiehempelman6007 yes. One step polishes usually cover the nail in one coat but you can use 2 if you would like.
Why/When to use colored acrylic vs polish/painting the nail. Pro/Con one over the other?

Hello! I'd be interested in seeing "Habid & Chewracy" discuss the self life of different products.

Typically Melissa says $5 per glitter in a set
@@danielpeniston so it doesn’t matter if it’s in 2 nails or 10??

I was wondering if your clients tip you? If they do, did they stop when you raised your prices??
They might 😐.
Your prices should be set to where tips are a nice bonus, nothing more.
I’m so scared I’m raising my prices by $5 because my booth rent is going up! But I don’t have a full clientele yet…🤦♂️
You got this!!
Yayyy
From cali nope haven't heard that lol
Thank you! lol
I’m from LA. Never heard it. How old is Jorge?
