Not a nail tech but I’m an illustrator. When it comes to pricing your art, if it doesn’t make you feel a little nervous to tell them the price, you’re undercharging.
I seriously love how you both vibe great and do go into so much to break it down and all different types and sets and everything you don’t miss a thing and even if it’s a topic similar to something you’ve already touched on, definitely learn more and new always different all the time love this!! Love the company and everyone who works for you all!
I have no problem charging for nail art, but I don't understand the reason to charge for "each gel color". It costs me the same and takes no more time whether I use 1 or 5 colors.
Hello! Loved this video and definitely helped me as I’m on the journey to offer Gelx nails in my office in the future. I would love to know how would you go about charging for rhinestones on nails? Also vs, if you’re doing full cover diamonds on nails or just doing 2-4nails? Thank you ❤
Depending on what kind of stones you use (Swarovski crystals vs basic rhinestones), you can charge per stone or you can have a set price per nail. Keep in mind that if you do a set price per nail, you may want to have a different price for short, medium, long, extra long. For example, you could charge $10 per nail for short, $15 for med, $20 for long. If you are using Swarovski, it may be higher depending on the size/shape of the crystals.
@@youngnailsincthank you so much for the quick response! Appreciate your help ❤ also one more question, I’m having an issue finding Swarovski nail crystals, would you happen to know where to purchase them from?
I have questions! Lol I'm brand new, I need to price search for my area. I plan absolutely to follow this structure, bc it's concise. And I like that. Alot. However, I understand prices doing up for length, as it 5ake more time and product. What do I say when someone asks, "why are stiletto more?” I don't understand the 'custom shaping' fee. Please help! Ty ❤️
Just explain exactly as you said, " stilettos are a longer length nail and it'll take me a little big longer and a little more product, therefore, the price is a little higher". 🤷
I'm with you I understand stilettos are more $ for more time and product, but am having a hard time understading more $ for custom shaping. I need an explanation 🤔 @youngnails?
Not sure if y'all will see this since it's 3 years later but I thought I'd comment from a customer's POV. It's long but oh well lol 😊 1. If someone in any service industry charges a LOT less than others in the area, I'm going to steer clear of them. I'm thinking, ummm WHY is their price so low??? They don't know what they're doing or they're cutting corners somehow or they're otherwise questionable. If your mechanic charged half of what others charge, or your plumber's rate is really low, you'd be wondering what they're doing to your car or your pipes and you'd hesitate to hire them. Same as a nail tech. Makes you wonder if they really know what they're doing. 2. If you, my regular nail tech, tell me that on [pick a date] your price for XYZ will be increasing by $5, I'm like ok cool, no prob. I wouldn't even think twice about it. It's only five bucks. No reason for you to even explain it to me. Just do it. 3. As y'all have said in many of your Biz Talk videos (love you guys, btw! Always fun to watch!) you absolutely should charge for add-ons! It's no different from any other self-care service I would get that has add-ons (basic hair cut + washing + deep conditioner, basic massage + hot stones, etc). I *expect* to pay extra for add-ons, that's normal. So why wouldn't nail techs do the same? 4. Displaying your range of prices for various add-ons has an additional benefit. Let's say I don't usually get anything but the basics, and my reaction to your menu of add-ons might be "Wow, long nails with that fancy 3-D stuff is crazy expensive! ...But hmmm, what if I did some nail art this time? That add-on is cheap! It's *only* an extra [$5 / $10 / $15], I'm happy to pay that!' And you just made me eager to give you extra $, just by listing your prices for add-ons. So, the bottom line is - charge what you should! It's a good sign to your clients when you have competitive, reasonable prices, and makes you seem like a professional who knows what they're doing. Go for it! Thanks for all of the Young Nails videos, keep up the good work!
Hi! I've watched a few of your videos and like the information. But I am actually kind of better at visuals so I would actually love to see pictures of nails sets maybe like 5 different kind of sets a few same length and shape but talk about the charge for a different design. Should I change per nail per character should I have a different price for acrylic Frenchies vs hand drawn Frenchies? I've been doing nails on and off for about two years and have been taking clients for a bit! And I do character art and have lots of gems and foils and all of that so if you can help with that?!. Also I can't seem to get forms on nail bitters only under natural nail growth ? ❤️💅 Thank you in advance
We'll keep your suggestion in mind! In the mean time, we would recommend joining our Facebook community and post this same question! This way you can get lots of input as to how different techs charge for their designs. Bless UPS! Tracey is wayyyy undercharging! The Overlay is a Price & Gel polish is $10 to $20 in my area! Stilettos would be $30! I forgot extra charge for shaping!;)PEACE
Know your worth, in life & business!! I wish all women "Manfidence", it's the obscene amount of self confidence men often have regardless of their looks, finances, social standing etc.. For example, the guy who weighs 300lb+, is 5'6" yet mows his grass shirtless every week😳🤯🤢

Love this
Everything u just said was dumb
This is the best tip on this subject that I have ever heard 😀 I will live by this and use this as my gauge throughout my life. Thank you!
Can you do a video on what nails are best for which life style? 🙏🏾🤗🥰 I had to watch the video twice to soak it all in. Second time I had a notebook.📓
Again thank you for your words of wisdom to a newcomer in this!!! Please talk about applying for credit as a new nail technician.
Thank you for the suggestion.
this is really helpful. We have to know our worth and this encourages me to practice even more to live up to those prices

Amazing!! I’ve utilized a ton of YoungNails pricing strategies in my business 🙏
I’m a new tech and this really helped! I’ve been struggling with pricing because idk what to charge for add ons!
Thank you for this! When you charge $5 per product for art is that per nail or whether it’s 1-10 nails???
It’s totally whether it’s 1 nails or 10
Thank you for your help!!!

@@vatishacarney2270 I'd charge for length. But of the nail is sculpted correctly, it should not take more time to file it, than any other shape🤷🏼♀️
Kiera ask about rhinestones. Shaped & round Glass rhinestones & also shaped & round Swarovski. Thank you 😘 have a blessed day 💙
What if they want a different color on each nail (just the one color on the entire nail) is it still $5 per color
Yup Tracey gives one color free with her service and an additional 5 for any other color
I charge same price for 5 as 1!;)PEACE

Thanks for the thoughtful and insightful comment, you're awesome! 💕
You didn't get into fills. So if your base price is 70 for a set, what would a good base price be for fills?
for tracey, her base fill price is $60. her full set base is $90. so i guess you can go from there on how to price your fills.
$45-50
Tracy says 90% of price set for fills since fills are the “bread and butter”

All my clients tell me to raise my prices but I’m scared. My full sets start at 40 for short but lord I’m scared to raise it up to 55
Do it girl. Even if you start at 45 then 50 then 55 your clients wont mind if they love your work.
Inflation girl! Do what you gotta do!
Thanks so much! This really simplifies it for me and I’m not charging enough😆
This is what you get from the video?
The point is, how good are you?
@@totukimou I think if she concluded that she’s not charging enough, that implies she’s undervaluing her services.
