Hello Ron. I missed this one so sorry for the delay in my comments. So you were a chef and that links nicely with the phrase "if music be the food of love" then Emily is always a banquet. This absolutely adorable little lady gives us a hint here of what was to follow. Ron, you're right about how Emily connects with her audience, evidenced here with her enchanting smile accompanying the lyrics "if you really hold me, hold me tight." Such videos only add so much to the Christmas spirit so thanks for playing this & thanks to Brad for the request.
Thanks for the nice cover Ron. Emily is most definitely my favorite. My favorite everything. She makes me feel like a proud grandfather.😊 If that dress looks familiar, it’s one of the two I told you about. 😂 I love this version of the song, and though it never mentions Christmas, or anything about it except the type of weather possible that day, it is certainly considered a seasonal song. I hope you have a great day Ron. I have my mom here and I’m just getting ready to put an 11-pound ribeye roast in the oven! I’m going to at least be merry while enjoying that!😂😂
My pleasure, Brad. Emily did a beautiful job as always. It has snowed a bit in the last few days, so we are technically having a white Christmas - but a wee bit of a warm up is coming in the next few days. I'm in the middle of preparing the turkey and dressing for today. Once the oven is up to speed - in it goes. I travelled to eight different stores in the last few days on a search for cranberries, but nobody had any. I guess I should have started earlier. (I usually make my own cranberry sauce.) The holidays just slipped up so fast - oh - and what happened to 2024!! Lol. Time flies. Have a great dinner & visit with your mom, Brad. All best wishes. 🙂
Hi Ron it's Mick in the UK. Thank you for your lovely reaction, and thank you Brad for posting. Emily was just twelve when she recorded this song, and sings it beautifully. Just double check her gorgeous cheeky smile at 5.16 which is just the Emily we all love. So, thanks again Ron and have yourself a fabulous Christmas. Take care, kind regards, Mick.
Hi Mick! You're welcome. Thank you for watching and commenting on the amazing Emily. She definitely connects with her audience even on screen. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Mick! 🙂🎄
Here is a post that I put on Emily's channel........"Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow goes back to July, 1945, when it was written during a heatwave by writers Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn when they were wishing for cooler conditions in Hollywood, California. The song became a hit in the Autumn (Fall) of that year by Vaughn Monroe with many cover versions since then, most famously by Frank Sinatra in 1950 and Dean Martin in 1959 and again in 1966. Let It Snow is not a Christmas song as such, (it doesn’t even mention Christmas), but it is certainly associated with Christmas."
@@michaelcollins4038 Thanks, Mick! It has become known as a Christmas tune over the years, for sure. I have Anne Murray's (Canadian artist) version on the playlist as well. I did it last year, but added last year's songs to the overall Christmas playlist. I'm probably most familiar with Murray's version.
@@michaelcollins4038hi Mick! Thanks for your thorough response. You know how much I appreciate them. I met Sammy Cahn when I was a senior in high school. My choir teacher was friends with him, and he came to one of our concerts and came backstage and we all talked with him. We had performed one of his songs, High Hopes. (The ant and the rubber tree plant) I still remember him joking around and saying that he put more words into Frank Sinatra’s mouth than Frank did.
