Finally a guy who really knows what he’s talking about ( pls no offense to all Covid cyclists, love you all who appreciate cycling ❤). But as an old bloke having pro raced in the 90s and trying to teach teenagers in my social Project what it’s all about - simply awesome…it‘s about cycling, doing something in a team, feeling the spirit, feeling your body…in the real world, here and now, pure! Learn, practice, enjoy 💜 thanks so much for sharing 🙌🏽 this is what young people inspires. You do an awesome job. I totally agree with him..ive been thru 8 road bikes(cannondale, trek, pinarello, cervelo, etc)within 2 years and I finally stopped when I got to my 2nd s-works sl7 tarmac...it checked all the boxes..bike builds are so much cheaper to build vs buying the bike straight out from the manufacturer..

I wish i have more time to cycle but i always feel too tired after work, i got no work life balance sadly.
I once saw daryl by the drinks vending machines near hong kong sports institute when i was cycling to work lol
So is it that its better to have more grip on the front wheel so putting wider tire on the front does benefit riding experience? And i also heard wider on the front narrower on the rear gives better aerodynamics?
Hope to meet you someday daryl💪🏻u ve been a great inspiration for the cyclists 單車仔 in hong kong especially those amateur rider noobs like me😂

The reason you shouldn’t change the wheels is because clx 50 are better than clx rapids and clx rapids 2. The only reason they are not in production is because they cost too much to make them.
Clx 50 come with ceramic speed and 180 equivalent hubs… they are tubeless comparable and weigh 1340 grams… by far the greatest wheels ever made.

Like his advice, buy cheap as your first bike because you’ll make mistakes anyway. Buy expensive when you have an idea what you really want.
I also agree about his reason for the Okinawa race being the hardest….head and crosswinds. I would rather ride hills and mountains climbing than fight crosswinds and headwinds. The wind always wins especially if it’s like 30+ miles of it non stop. All your energy to do any attacks just get doubled on efforts
