Trail Camera/ Camera Trap - Adaptations to film small birds and mammals

- I wanted to film the small birds and animals that visited my garden so bought a trail camera, not realising that it wouldn't be able to focus closer than 10 feet from the the camera. This video shows you the cheap and simple adaptations I've made that have resolved these problems and enables me to focus on subjects so much closer. I hope it helps you to do the same and enables you to see what visitors you have in your garden.
Brilliant ideas!
Very informative video and well done! I was struggling to find someone who could explain how to do this and your video was exactly what I needed.
awesome . love the way you think !
Great ideas. Thanks
Thanks Donna. Hope it helps
thanks for the tips, I have my trail cam on my bird feeders but did not try the lenses yet
Thank you for this very interesting video. The explanations are very clear. I also use glasses to make video close-ups. beautiful birds in your area!

Great video. Have been using +1 and 2 closeup lenses for a few years now.
Thanks a lot for sharing this.
I have a couple of Browning dark opp cameras. Going out in the field is not always possible. So this is a wonderful option. Thanks once again.

@@CuttlefishProd certainly it will!!!!!
now this is useful ! Thank you !
Hi, glad it helps. :-)
Hi CuttlefishProd
Will the the average trailcam's PIR be triggered by the heat signature of small birds?
Thanks 🙂
Great video thanks Jo. Two things. Please can you tell us what model of Bushnell cam you are using? Also, to get close up video at night without 'white-out', did you have to tape over some of the IR LEDs(?) or did the camera automatically reduce it's IR illumination? Thanks! David.
Hi Only Dave, glad you enjoyed it. I was using a Bushnell Core DS Low Glow. I taped over the red light that shows the camera is active, as this seemed to distract whatever I was filming, but not over the IR LEDs. I've not had any issues with white-out. Hope that helps. Have fun filming, Jo
