    I have a 2017 FPace-S v6 supercharged same color with the black out kit only it's sitting on 22s, I had an alternator fail while under warranty. I love my car, although I wish I had done more research on the S model. I love the performance, but it's REALLY loud when I put foot into it. But you can't beat the performance. I love it.

    Not often mentioned is all JLR models are made with aluminum so are much lighter and more economical than their rivals and in 20 years can still look like new while rivals like Mercs are in scrap yards peppered with rust. Also remember aluminum doors closing will sound "tinnier" in your very scientific "door close quality test"

    I have the 2017 facelift V6 S Diesel version 300bhp. Bought at 57000 miles and get 28 around town and near the 40s on the motorway. I think this car drives and looks Awesome and I have never had a problem so far after 12 months and added 12000 miles.. Oil change was near the £200 from Jaguar but you could halve that if you do it yourself. I have not had a full service yet but it will be near the £400 mark. The car is awesome and wont be changing it any time soon.

      Thanks. The car has been really great to me so far but I do recognise the reliability issues and it is always at the back of my mind. Luckily my next door neighbour is a mechanic and will check the car when issues come up before I hand it to Jaguar to fix.@@car_babble

    As a Jaguar fpace 2.0d mhev I enjoyed your review of the fpace. However I would disagree about your comments about diesels being noisy. I don’t hear any engine noise in mine.

      I have a 2022 one, So far so good. I've owned a Jaguar XF 2012 diesel as well and it worked like a clock with 190k miles on it. It solely depends on how much care you put into your car

    I had the pre-facelift F-Pace for a week, and my mother in law has the newer one. I had a major engine issue cause by chain tensioners (common problem with Ingenium engines), and it was rejected and sent back. My mother in law has had no end of issues with her seat belt sensors, battery drain and recently the ad-blue bottle/cap broke, which caused it to jam closed. My neighbours pre-facelift sounds like a tractor now. No idea what's up with it. My Jaguar XE leaked really badly on the passenger side, and the paintwork chipped so easily. There's also an issue with some Ingenium engines with fuel pressure pump noises coming into the cabin through an earth cable mounted to the body. People think it's a noisy car but it's really easy to fix.

      It's so random who has good and bad experiences, it seems. I personally don't think I could be arsed with the risk but then again it was such a lovely car to be in.

    Great review, informative and well presented. Love the car too. I do think Jag are stretching that model out quite a bit, still no word of its replacement as far as I know, but I guess if it's that good then why not. And that plate, wow!

    • @car_babble
      @car_babble  Рік тому

      Thanks Hoppo! Yeah they're definitely milking this design but I think Jaguar focusing on perfecting (or making an existing product more reliable) instead of trying something new is probably good for them right now! 😎

    Had one, a V 6 Supercharged - great driving car - very fast and handled like sports car (an XE) but it was totaled when an Audi A 6 crossed the center line and hit the front end. Great crash protection but due to there being so few F-Paces on dealer lots these days, I got a Mercedes Benz GLC 300 4 Matic - nice riding with great tech but oh so boring and dull compared to the F Pace P 340. Nothing looks better and drives better than the 2021-to present F-Paces - Macans are ugly - not even in the same league for design. F-Pace is a bit pricey compared to a Mercedes and there are 30 GLCs on the dealer lots for every F_Pace so shopping for an F-Pace is not easy and prices are not competitive as a result.

      The V6 must have been sublime. Sorry it got wrecked dude. Thanks for the comment

      @@car_babbleYour reviews are very good. Especially love the actual driving part of the reviews. Every time I switch between my Mercedes and Jaguar, I have an initial period where I look for controls that are not where they are supposed to be. So loved owning two Jaguars. Really not a fan of the steering wheel mounted controls for the Mercedes transmission. The pistol shifter in my 2020 XE S AWD is so much better as is the handling and driving of the Jaguar which corners flat and has tremendous grip. The Mercedes GLC is a very comfortable ride with great tech and good fit and finish but it is not remotely a driver's car like the F-Pace was although the GLC has great brakes, great ride quality and more than decent acceleration from a turbo 4 in sport plus mode, it is just too soft to be fun to drive. Was going to get the F-Pace S AWD over the Mercedes Benz GLC 4 Matic but both of single F-Paces on the dealer lots were missing automatic steering wheel adjustment (it had a manual knob) and for $50K Plus USD, I said, no, not going to pay $50K plus for a manual steering column adjustment in a Jaguar. I mean, whoever approved that cheap crap should be executed as you cannot find a Mercedes anywhere with such a crappy level of equipment. Jaguar hurts the brand by selling vehicles that are not adequately posh. Why bother updating the tech and interior build quality only to fail to include electronic memory adjustments for the steering column?? That is something Volkswagen would do in a $30,000 car.
