Oh yess there will never be a batsman like him ever again. Bit unfortunate to play in the time he did though in the early 80s when SL cricket was at its infancy.

Why this guy is not celebrated at the same league with Sachin, Lara and Richards ? He deserves that.
Because of his batting stats.Lara, Sachin, Richards, Sangakkara etc all averaged 50 plus and 40 plus in test and odi respectively.
Arvinda averaged 42 in test and 35 in odi.
But Arvinda was man of big occasions, he always reserved and performed his best in knockout matches .

If you made a all time SL XI, as an Indian I can say beating them would be near impossible just because the batting would put up so many runs that the bowlers would be very relaxed in their approach. SL' s only down side is that aside from Vaas they haven't really produced another top notch fast bowler who can dominate test innings.
