    Nice review man, keep going.
however, yes the legion gets hot but to be fair it is a gamming laptop which do get really hot and the point you made for the uncomfortable temperature on your knees, is not fair as its not made to be used like that because of 2 fans continuously sucking in air thought the vents, its a gamming laptop! it should not be used on knees unless you want dust to inter your laptop.

For someone like me crunching data and making data processing every hour, I'm in the market for a gaming laptop to be able to handle these tasks, hence I'm expected to use this on my knees literally, so really happy to have seen this video before buying.

Fair review! I have the previous "Slim" i9 model with a 4070 and I love it for most things but gaming is why I got it. I also have the 16" M1 Pro, which is simply another level when it comes to content creation/consumption and regular use cases. I wouldn't need another computer if I didn't like to game on the side; curiosity, too: I like to know what's happening in Windows land. But you're right: the M-series Macs are definitely superior (effeciency, speakers, display, and battery life). I wish gaming developers designed games for it; but we know why that's not happening quickly enough.

Hey Jim. Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it. You brought up smart points, and we are on the same page here 👍 I love the MacBook as a daily laptop. But sometimes I think about building myself a PC instead of a gaming laptop. But I don’t have the time and urge to game sitting behind the desk. Looks like I am getting older, since I prefer to chill with the ps5 occasionally. 😅

thank you... Im a 3D ANimator and struggling a lot lately to make a right pick.. I owned a Rog Strix 17 with 5900 amd processor and it was a pain. Now using a Slimbook Executive 16 but is not powerful enough if i get a more complicated 3d scene to work in. So now in the process of buying a new one but still not sure. I like this review because it is direct, to the point, simple.
    I bought a 7i in black with 4070 and 14900HX, 16GB RAM. I upgraded to 48GB Crucial 5600MHz.
This laptop is now my desktop replacement. If I am away from the desktop or if the desktop goes down, the laptop can do everything the desktop can, with minimal impact to performance.
It was not without issues though. I had to RMA my first Legion 7i because the BIOS crashed, got stuck in a recovery loop, then the system would not POST or go to BIOS. It was dead after 4 hours of use.
This new one ALMOST ran into BIOS and other issues, but I managed to get it up and running. I still do not trust it yet.
This Legion 7i is replacing my 2015 Alienware 17 R3. That rig is still running and in use to this day, 9 years later. All I did is replace the battery 2 - 3 years ago.

Mac wins hands down here and gives you around 8-10h. Legion has literally draining the battery out while you are looking at it (3-4h in my case, it is ridiculous). To reduce the battery drain you have to scale your display down to 60hz and set minimum brightness.
