is it possible to use the wifi slot for a 2230 ssd instead and then use usb wifi adapter for internet? if it's possible, would you recommend that? I would like to have 4TB storage but I already have a 2TB ssd, so I was thinking instead of buying a new 4TB ssd, it would be cheaper to buy a 2TB 2230 ssd instead.
@@Mightyjessejr to be honest I’m not sure if that’d fit. I only noticed the drive getting hot when transferring large amounts of files and that’s normal. Not really during gaming.
It is recommended to remove the Mediatek Wifi card and install Intel, but which intel wifi card is best to go for - I recall Linus tech tips recommending this??
@@EnGieBenGie90 personally I’d get Intel WiFi 6e + Bluetooth 5.1 or higher. You may see them as AX210 or AX211 cards. I have Intel killer AX1675x which is Intel WiFi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3. Works perfect
I have that laptop, which model is yours and in mine I want to change the SSD from 1TB to one from 2TB a crucial T500 you think I can remove the SSD protector to put the crucial one a dissipator.
I never did on this laptop but if you want to be safe, you can disconnect the battery connector. Just to point of the obvious, be careful with fragile connector and any components near it.

@@andyblessing2627 you can buy an ssd enclousure, put your new ssd inside of it and clone the ssd on your computer (make a copy of the disk inside of your laptop)

For normal cards download WiFi & Bluetooth separately. Then update the drivers through Device Manager on your G14.

I've never heard of that and I'm sure that's not in the manual. You'll have to try it for yourself. If you do try let us know.
Would a one sided nvme with a thin heatsink work and fit inside the shielding? or the heatsink is not needed with the shielding present?

@@huntnyc Yes it will. It walks you through everything, including connecting to your wifi. It takes a while, like 1 - 2 hours but it works ok.
