If any manufacturer has a weapon you would like seen reviewed or a tested in a meltdown, tag them in the comments or contact us!
KAC blew out the left side of the barrel. DD blew out the right side of the barrel. Geissele blew out the gas tube the way it was designed to do from Eugene Stoner.
i thought about getting rid of my super duty but I'm keeping it forever after seeing this video
@@flawless1upI had to buy a full super duty after that video lol
I really want to see if the S2W profile from DD would do the same.
I think both dd barrels blew because they were government profile, heavy in the front. Made it sag near the gas block.
Geissele uses a thinner design.
Wat does guyslee's raffles an pisstuls du different than kac and dd, etc.
@GoldenWebb what does geissele do different u reckon?
LWRC has a spiral fluted CHF heavy barrel... would love to see how that would fare against these Gov profile barrels
Me to man
That fluting is so ugly, if it had striaght fluting i would have bought an lwrc years ago
@@Dexter-nw2fe To each their own, I think it's the best looking barrel on the market lol. Also the fluting being spiraled means it keeps the overall rigidity of a heavy barrel, while being lighter w/ more surface area for cooling... if it was straight fluting the only advantages would be weight & surface area, the grooves would end up being a weak point in the barrel.
@@KennyRodgers930the spiral flutes remove more material than straight flutes. The barrel may be more rigid than something of similar weight, but anytime you remove material, you are NOT somehow magically increasing rigidity. If spiral fluting was some crazy good deal, a bunch of other companies would do it. They don’t.
@@KimballPrecision That is like saying that a cube made of 4x4s is stronger and more rigid than a pyramid made of 2x2s. It make logical sense at first but when you factor in actual statics and mechanics the latter would be stronger.
Thank you sir, I’ve been waiting weeks for this video. I can’t say how much I at least appreciate the amount of time and money you have put into these meltdown videos to bring your viewers educational content
I sure do appreciate that brother. Comments like these are why we do these videos!
In my opinion, you are officially a legend. Thank you for this bad ass video. You are definitely doing us a service.
I appreciate the kind words my friend! We are doing our best! Thank you again brother
Thank you for listening to our comments and getting the SR-15 in the rotation. I still believe in Knights however; the enhancements that make up its unique characteristics were specialized to make the AR-15/M4 platform better than most other AR-15 manufacturers, rather than enhancing the machine gun design. This video still proves that those enhancements were not in vein - the bolt seems to be in great space, and the gas system is still functional. The AR-15 platform was never really built for hard, continuous machine gun firing, which is why a GI profile barrel was ideal for service use versus the alternative that would render cumbersome to the soldier due to weight. Hence, the reason why most of these tests don't really make it to 900 rounds. I'd like to see such AR-15 meltdown tests done with heavier barrels. A test like that would really push the bolt and gas tube designs to their limits. Great video, and please keep them coming.
What a fucking cope. An S&W m&p-15 sport went to 800 rounds.
Never thought I'd see a UA-camr with the nuts to do this! Excellent content man
You should look up the 110sass actual sr15 video

Would also like to see the BCM
Sionics too. I believe they use melonite gas tube. Might be detrimental.
Hate how it ended up but loved sending you this upper to compare to others!
You're a real one homie!

Wow…Geissele Super Duty takes the day I guess. Amazing VIDEO!! Guys you are amazing! God bless y’all !
Sure does brother! I appreciate it my friend! God Bless you!
Just came across your channel. Honestly a bad ass channel. Others aren’t willing to test their guns the way you do and it’s awesome. Keep the content coming.
Brother I sure do appreciate the kind words. Thank you for all of it and welcome to the channel!
Good to see you have protective equipment for these test now. Love what you are doing. 🇺🇸💪🏽
I would absolutely love to see you melt down a PWS upper!! It would be nice to see how well a gas piston upper would hold up to the abuse. I’m a big fan of PWS! Just subscribed and look forward to watching many more videos! Thank you for the awesome content!!
I'd love to see what my mk113 alpha can take, the alpha has a heavier barrel profile
PSW test has never been done by a third party. would be awesome, rocking a mk216 myself
I got my first pws about 3 years ago. The Mk114 mod 2. I have ran that gun really hard and absolutely love it! I have gotten a me 116 in 762x39 and it’s awesome as well! I would love to get a me 216 I just got to get the extra cash. They are fairly expensive but for the money imo it’s a great deal for a mostly in house built gun. I really believe it would shine in this torture test, it would be greatly appreciated by myself and I believe PWS would be willing to send an upper for testing!
Don’t know why they’d bother. The piston will start seizing with the heat after a few mags and it’ll sputter along as a bolt action for awhile. I don’t know when PWS started to be recognized as on par with KAC, DD and geissele but their guns are laughably bad in my experience.
@@spacecaesar7619what is your personal experience with pws? Any examples?
I would really like to see a Centurion Midweight, Hammer Forged barreled upper try the meltdown. Either the 14.5" or 16" barrel
Let's see what the lwrc Di fluted heavy barrel does. Great video thanks for the review
That's why they came out with the socom barrel. Imo and this has always been the case for me, kac is overpriced. Along with many others.
Can you add a chart with the guns and round counts at the end so we can track all of them?
We’ve been looking into this! We are working on something!
@@GoldenWebbthank you guys! I was searching the comments for that exact comment and to see that you guys already answered it and are actually doing something...you got my sub👍

Now I need to see the LMT
LMT vs PWS VS LWRCI vs hk vs SIG melt test face off is what we need to settle it once & for all & then compare them to a Daniel defense/ KAK /
(I really like PWS long stroke AK-like design & it’s adjustable gas system for suppressed)
@Petergriffin-qg1gw we will be doing the PWS and LMT soon!
Oooof. That is heartbreaking. The clearance Aero did better than that. That's a damn shame.
Why are you surprised. It's all about barrel profile
Yup, profile is king for a test like this. Just look at the knight's upper weight, it's pretty light for a 14.5.
I wouldn't let a meltdown be a considering factor in buying a rifle. Noone's gonna have a firing schedule like this and it's going to ruin the barrel no matter what.
@@TheStig505 lol it certainly isn't a factor. I just feel for the poor bastards who spent $2k+ on one of these thinking price denotes durability.
@@CrashRacknShoot price doesn't denote durability in this case, barrel profile does. No lightweight barrel is gonna last long. If it lasts 7 mags that's good enough for any application and if you need it to shoot more than that, you need a belt-fed.
Well, the gas tube / block worked as advertised…
I thought the barrel may go a few more rounds
The Knights barrels are pretty thin though.
All the fan bois watching a anderson smoke this 4k$ rifle 😂

Gotta put a helmet and vest on Kyle for future videos... we need the mag man safe!

I'm still surprised that Geisselle surpassed the other "Higher End" brands.
That Geissele is running away with first place in DI!
Thank you for doing these meltdowns! We've seen the modern stuff. The KAC, Geissele and Daniel Defense RIS III, but they were all mid length and thinner profile barrels. I think the brownells block ii quad upper should be next. Lets see the round count for a carbine length with the heavier SOCOM barrel!
To be honest I don’t believe we would see much of a difference. The weight is distributed better, but not that much better. A true heavy barrel would be a better test
@@GoldenWebb the block II w/ socom barrel is just so iconic though. it would be like "shiny and new" vs "tried and true". Plus no one has melted one down for youtube yet. I'd imagine it beats this KAC easily
Would love to see a F N in a burndown considering PSA uses their barrels for their premium line and a lot of people kinda snub their nose at PSA and Spikes Tactical but the same people would be like look at my new BCM all 3 are running F N barrels great video looking forward to seeing more!!!!!
Can you start showing the damage with the handgaurds off after they blow?
Also can we get a running list of the blowouts and their roundcounts to keep track of?
I’ve got a list together, we would have showed it on this one if we could have took the Handguard off
I like how you can see the barrel bending/warping downwards before the failure. Anything melts at some point.
That’s true brother
I’ve been looking for a KAC forever. Have not been successful getting one. I just settled for a DD M4A1 RSIII and I’m glad it did just as bad as the KAC. No real loss as far reliability I guess. I’ll use the money saved on extra ammo and gadgets I guess…
You have the KAC guys going nuts today man 😂
Kac bros gotta be hurt only 500+ didn't even get close to 1K 😂😂😂That pricr tag is ridiculous
@@dariuswilliams7509the rifle wasn't built for full auto so it's not really surprising. It's like ruining your corvette at 200 miles for 10 minutes and being surprised when you blow your engine.
@alexander1902 neither was the radian model 1 🧐 sh*t all over the kac..
Someone send some protection for the mag guy!! 😂😂
I’m curious how a LMT would do.
Me too
I think IV8888 did one. I watched it somewhere on YT.
@@fred03fast I remember watching that years ago. It was a piston upper if I remember correctly. I wonder how a lmt di upper would do.
I feel that the sig spear has done the best in these tests!
I have geissele super duty and the dd ris 3 and I know for sure the hanguard on the dd gets way hotter faster than the super duty. It might be the abilty to shed heat that plays a role on the barrel
Handguards don’t pull heat away from the barrel. Heat radiates and convects away from the barrel. The only thing that the handguard could do to improve barrel cooling is to have more air holes for better air flow.
The biggest factor here is the spot of the barrel that gets too hot and bends downwards, just before the gas block. Thicker barrel here would prevent bending.
Handguards don’t really play that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. Barrel profile and gas tube make is what changes the game. Every Goverment we have done has blown up in our face. Every Midweight and HBAR we’ve done has lived to tell the tell.
soooooo..........600nds is the new benchmark for top shelf uppers?
Outstanding.
Iraqveteran8888 had a POF416 go over 2500 rounds straight before it started short stroking. Never blew up
You need to test the SOCOM M4A1 heavy profile barrel…….
😂😂😂 I never would of guessed a Knights Armament would get the pants beat off it by a Sig or even a LMT. OVERRATED GUCCI 😂😂😂
Hahahaha
This isn't shitposting but all my KAC rifles were utter shit and i am so glad i sold them all to brain dead collectors years ago! Thanks for the video
I'm curious what was shit about them? Mine may be new but hasn't given me any issues yet.
@@professionalamateur6169the guns are violently over gassed to the point of malfunctions with a can, my barrel extension overhung the M4 feed ramps causing complete gun stoppages out of the box with GEN3 PMAGs. A separate ones mag catch fell off the gun in the first day of shooting. They are junk dude try to get as much for it as you can and move to LMT or literally anything else.

Love the videos and content. And like all of the rifles Almost equally. People these are not real world scenarios. Most people can’t even afford a 500 round dump 😂 let alone carry 500 rounds. Don’t break your head over it. It’s coming down to barrel profile
Pretty much. But there is something that we can all take from these meltdowns!
@@GoldenWebb for sure for sure and we appreciate you doing these videos. Also we gotta get magazine guy better protection
You should do an LMT

You all need to test a POF P-415. I bet it last longer than any of them.
We’ve got one we was going to melt yesterday but they sent a Simi auto bolt in the thing!
I think PSA upper and it would be cool to see a PSA Jakl vs Sig MCX melt downs
Geissele URGI Upper MK18 length 10.3, 11.5 or 14.5 . URGI has a lot Different Profile than the super duty,..... Great Video god Bless and Good Luck. Stay Safe.
Thank you for another great video.
I wish you could get from Brownell’s a DD M4A1 SOCOM RIS II SOP mod 2 upper. Those have the heavy profile barrel in them.
Looks like the super duty is king.
Not arguing about the Geissele Super Duty barrel being more durable, Because it is. But... an apples to apples, oranges to oranges barrel comparison would be better. Meaning, compare the same profile barrel with another make with the same profile. I own a Geissele URG-I, that uses a Gov profile barrel. The Geissele Super Duty using a "Geissele Taper Profile" barrel. I would have rather seen the Geissele gov profile barrel compared to the the DD, or the KAC that was shown in this vid here. Each of which had a gov profile barrel.
Love what you’re doing try a POF 415 and a PWS uppers if u could
If anyone is having doubts about owning a knights armament… you are not gonna shoot an AR-15 like this unless it’s Vietnam and you’re getting charged by 3,000 enemy. You use a SAW or 240. Even then… they are gonna break when you run cyclic. Seen 240 barrels get melted to the receiver during live fire.
You don’t have the ability to change barrels on a knights armament. You do on a 249 and 240. And even then I’ve seen them fail. It’s a machine.
You’re a king for this 👑👑👑
I sure do appreciate the kind words my friend!
I’m curious how the barrel profile, gas system length and similar variables effect these catastrophic failures. Great content you guys have been able to put together with these “off the shelf” tests. But I’ve read on many forums the KAC brand as a whole is function over form. So many brand new rifles are reported to have scuffs or marring. Their FDE cerakote jobs are notoriously aggressive as well. Food for thought. Here’s to ya dog!
Barrel profile is the absolute main factor in these for sure. And yeah kac is def function over form they really don’t care about scuffs/marks lol. I know some people think If I’m paying all this money I want it to come perfect which I totally understand but honestly I don’t really care about that kinda stuff
awesome guys! I feel bad that the KAC did not preform to what I thought it would.
Any chance yall can do Bear creek arsenal. thinking about making a poor's AR gunner build
We filmed it on the same day as this one. BCA video will be releasing in a few weeks

Curious to see how it does compared to g$.
Update:
Geissele>
I just came from another youtube page and he had a cheaper m&p 15 sport 2 and it went 820 rounds before it quit just shows you sometimes price doesn't always win.
Yep
Can you do the LMT piston? IV8888 did it years ago but that was with the old carrier…LMT upgraded it since and I’ve yet to see it tested like this. 🇺🇸💪
We will for sure brother! We just need more donations to get that done. LMT isn’t gonna send us one lol

As I stated in last video, I’d love to see you compare these meltdowns with cheaper brand meltdowns
Thanks bud, awesome content, the Aero did/is just as good
Hahaha thank you brother! It did!
Lightweight barrels just don't have a chance of a heavier barrel. This was a lightweight barrel, correct? I heard you say government, but the barrel looked skinny compared to the handguard.
Government profile barrels are pencil barrels up until the gas block, they just have a lot of extra mass forward of the gas block that was added due to a false assumption of barrels bending, and by the time they figured out it was a burr in the gas port the government had already approved the change. If you want a barrel that'll truly take a lot, you want a BA hanson profile, lighter and thicker than a gov profile where it matters
It’s technically a Goverment but it does look lightweight before the gas block
I'm really curious what the Mod-1 SBR with the Dimpled barrel would do. That's the test we need, but Knight's needs to make us some more of those barrels before that test is done.
@@PineyJusticeunfortunately no. The best would be a socom profile bbl
@@jeremiahgoodwin3408 Maybe if you wanted a barrel that was just going to survive burndowns, but the hanson barrels are thicker from chamber to gasblock than a gov profile, and lighter out front for about the same weight, maybe a little less but way more durable.
This is the best video yet bro! I called it a while back when you said you were going to do it. KAC can not justify the cost of their rifles after this. I know owners are gonna cry and say but it’s not a lmg, so what! I will never pay their ridiculous prices for their garbage. This proves me right!
You do realize that KAC doesn’t charge that much for their rifles. It’s supply and demand at this point. There’s few out there as of right now and a lot of people want them.
Let's do a budget rifle like a PSA. Curious what abuse it can take?
"There's lead in them hills."
Do a POF P416 meltdown to see if you get a similar result to what IV8888 got
Centurion arms
We’ve reached out to them! Hopefully we hear something soon!
the algorithm was good to you, this is the first video of yours I have been suggested. Good Video and subscribed for more.
I’m glad it’s working in my favor for once! Thank you for viewing my friend and welcome to the channel!
Thanks for another meltdown video. They're always fun to watch, and the results are always interesting. I agree with the sentiment about government profile barrels. They were a dumb idea when initially conceived in the early 80s during the development of the M16A2, and they're still a dumb idea today. It's safe to say that most manufacturers also know this but still make and/or offer them because that's what the government (and, therefore, clone-builders) demand.
I want to make a couple of suggestions, if I may...
First, you could try to acquire and melt down a Geissele 14.5" pin & weld near-clone URGI upper. The URGI upper comes with a government profile barrel, while the Super Duty upper you tested previously comes with a "Geissele Profile" barrel. It would be interesting to see how the two compare since the barrels are made by the same company with the same processes and materials but with two different profiles. I would also like to know if the Geissele brand government profile barrel would do any better than the other manufacturers. I think that would make for an excellent video.
Second, you could settle on standard capacity 30-round magazines for the meltdowns to make them a bit more scientific and the results a little more consistent. You could also try to use the same ammunition each time or do the tests when the ambient temperature and other weather conditions are similar, but that may be less feasible/not always possible. I'm wondering aloud about ways to keep fanboys of certain brands from whining about the tests not being fair with this one.
As for weather, as you might be able to tell we are here in Kentucky where the weather changes ever 5 minutes. We’ve done meltdowns in 85 degree temps, 20 degree temps, fair weather and sprinkling. It doesn’t really matter in the end due to the fact that at 900 degree and climbing temps of some of these barrels, a change in temp of 20-80 degrees outside isn’t going to make that much of a difference in the grand sceme of things.
Good point; thanks for replying. My Dad's side of the family is from rural southern Illinois, so I spent a fair bit of time in Kentucky as a youngun. I appreciate your accent and the way you talk.@@GoldenWebb

I have a psa so im not fanboying the Knights upper but the aero had a few long pauses. Iv8888 has been pretty consistent with the way they feed the rifle wich is basically non stop firing like you did on this one, all uppers should be held to the same standard.
Watch our geissele and Daniel meltdowns. No pauses between them.
Those few second pauses will not matter
Please do a noveske with a CHF barrel. They say it’s double chrome lined and same barrel as a m249 saw. We need a test!
Hahahaa we do need that test! I’ll be trying to get one!
awesome will be looking forward for that video you just earned a new sub!@@GoldenWebb
I was waiting for this video before a purchase, thanks for narrowing the list down for me. This is embarrassing for KAC.
Knights barrels with a normal firing schedule will out last all others when it come to Accuracy it’s been proven there is a vid on UA-cam with a guy with over 30k rounds on his sr15 and still getting 1moa most barrels will losse Accuracy after 5-7 k rounds. Also a KAC e3 bolts are Indestructible there are to date no reports of a KAC e3 bolt failing. That’s huge! There are more to uppers than just the barrel. Many other things can fail and the barrel is usually the last thing that fails. Even Special operations know you have to let your barrel cool down. The fact that anyone would base there investment on these videos is Ludacris! 😂 seriously! These vids are have so many factors that are not put into account. This is like seeing how long a motor will last without oil in it. A expensive High-performance motor will die first because of my factors not because it’s a bad motor.

I talked with them. They advised that it wouldn’t help with continuous fire.
Interesting video. I expected the Knights Armament to do better. Im curious how the HM monobloc integrated gas bloc would do with their unique barrel profile.
all about barrel profile for sustained full-auto like a meltdown test. straight gas tube shifts failure point to where the barrel gets hottest.

This is crazy, all these uppers are failing out the barrel. In the iv8888 meltdowns it was always the gas tube🧐
SUB'D! Thanks for the video, agreed that was MIGHTY disappointing!
Very much looking to the LMT, LMT is my favorite. Hopefully out of the MRP line, early prediction: DI or piston, it's probably going to jump around a bit more than the Knights but with angled DI port and heavier barrel on either, I believe it will leave Knights in the dust.
After watching the LMT video today, I'm so happy that I never paid the scalper prices for a KAC. LMT All the Way.
Would love to see this done with a Larue Tactical. Their typical barrel is pretty heavy compared to these.
Their barrel is stainless steel and not chrome lined so it would be very interesting
Knights owner are crying
It would't be bad to make ammo counter in the next meltdowns.
Let's see a centurion enhanced socom barrel meltdown
We are trying!
Moving forward every time we hear the same song and dance from a KAC fan boy we will resort to this video. awesome video and channel. stay safe man! yikes!!!
Why? These videos are entertaining but have nothing to do with how good or bad a rifle is. If they were belt fed lmg’s then this might be relevant but 99.999% of people with AR-15’s aren’t doing this with them. Used the way people actually use them something like a Knights or Geisselle is going to be better than cheaper rifles. Are they worth the price? That depends on the individual. I personally think buying a mid priced rifle is the best choice for most people.

@@brettb5089 through the same stress test, I’m surprised dad and aero held longer. Just shocking is all
wow thats crazy, hoping you get blackout defense ar, keep it up bud
They said they was sending us one. Haven’t heard back from them in awhile. Hopefully it’s still coming but I can’t confirm
Would love to see you run DelTon 316M
I love my LMT 12" Piston upper! Not sure how it would compare to a DI rifle in terms of a melt down but id assume the barrel would get blown out as well
Interesting. KAC and DD both had similar gov profile barrels and melted at around the same round count. Geissele SD has gov profile as well but somehow it last longer, could be that Geissele barrel is more reliable than the other two
Geissele SD uses the Geissele profile. It's slightly thicker than the regular govt. profile. Only the URGI near-clone uses their govt profile barrel.
@@th3warr1or Thanks for the info! Yeah i think this is exactly the reason why it last longer
This is a lightweight barrel, not a government profile. The DD was a government profile, the Geissele is not a government profile, it’s a straight profile which is why it lasted longer. This is not hard to figure out.
I built a rifle using the Super Duty barrel that Geissele makes. It didn't look government profile. It wasn't skinny till gas block then thicker. It had the same thickness throughout from what I remember.
@@shawnsanders9450 Thanks for correction, do you happen to know if the KAC barrel is thinner than the Geissele barrel while they are both straight profile?
I worked for Reed Knight back in the day with Gene Stoner
