I've never seen a band so in sync. I've listened to only this album for over a month now and it never gets old. Literally fits every mood I could ever be in.
No lies told. This belongs in same category as Grammy winning Album that never gets old. Alabama Shakes - Sound and Colour Tinariwen - Tassili Ali Farka Toure - Talking Timbuktu
This is some of the most sophisticated, honest music I've heard in more than a few years. "I don't know who's fuck to give." Genius line. That chord progression is like a soul magnet. I hope this band stays together for, at least twenty years.
They're one of the very few bands that I almost like their live performances better than the studio recordings. There is just a little something extra. A little more soul and life.

She is one of the most original and soulful artist to come along in years.. she is a force.. can't wait to see where she goes as her star burns bright.
MAN...She rocks HARD. The "fools" speculating oh if SHE had a different body can go listen to those singers. Or imagine her as Tina Turner or Madonna or the names mentioned below in the nearly insipid and vapid post I AM attacking. Allow the rest of US to hail this angel from blues-based rock heaven. She plays amongst us mortals. WE are blessed in this age of unmusicianship that the guitarist rocking the yellow dress rocks amongst us.
The best thing about that band is their incredible, very unique sense of timing. The resulting density of the sound is awe-inspiring. A joy to listen to.
Saw my father today who’s in a coma in ICU right now. My mentally ill daughter who has schizophrenia was just hospitalized today because she was threatening suicide. My partner is an asshole and I can’t even deal right now. My son is sad beyond belief because of what’s happening with his grandfather and his sister while he’s out of the country on a deployment mission with the Air Force. I’m literally “losing” it. But I put this song on and it helped, just a little.
This ones rockin and I like it. And it's sooo nice seeing a sister playing electric guitar, I mean REALLY playing and rockin it out! Thanks for providing the UA-cam subscription.
I’m about all music all the time. She is the love of my life. She takes me everywhere I need to be. All the joy, hope, pain, sorrow and love that whispers eternity, of reclamation, rebirth, of stars and energy, of time and space and what lies beyond. To borrow a line from Tom Waits, with regards to Alabama Shakes “ She’s balancing a diamond on a blade of grass.” I absolutely feel and love y’all 🎼🙏🎼
I was introduced to Alabama shakes my senior year.. 5 years later and still here going strong!!! In love with this band they’re incredible so soothing and her voice is AMAZING 😭 literally get chills every-time I listen to them play.
Dick Bukkake the radio people just want to sell pretty boys and girls with prewritten crappy music prepped up for them. But we the real music lovers appreciate the good stuff. This band is the best in the past 40 years or probably more.
I live in Decatur about 30-40 minutes from their hometown of Athens and I still cant believe that they were not bigger around here. I never heard of them until I heard them on mtvu. Right after they had the song on the zales commercial. That is horrible. There are a lot of bar/club bands in the area that you always hear about but never Alabama Shakes. Thank god I heard them when I did because they are amazing. Janis Joplin was my first thought also but it has that Memphis bluesy feeling too. I love it. I hope they stick around for a long time. You aint alone belongs in a hall of fame and greatest hits collections for future generations to hear and enjoy and take inspiration from. I know I am doing my part. My 5 year old daughter loves this too. Love, Peace.
First time I heard this song I couldn't get enough of it, I repeatedly listened to this song over and over again through out my entire day that day, I wanted to capture and be spiritually intimate with every nuance and detail of this song, I just couldn't let go after experiencing this song.
Wow, so so much talent. She's channeling so many ppl (Hendrix, Joplin, etc). Love your music guys. I am a new fan for life. Thanks you for singing to me.

I got because I watched that iPad commercial and every time the commercial came on I literally could not help but dance and sing along, I've never had that experience with anything else. I had to find this band after hearing sound and color and they are so much better than I ever imagined
i remember anxiously awaiting the 2nd album. i remember trying to imagine what songs the band had written, how the songs were recorded and so on. guess what? the band exceeded all of my wildest imaginations. i'm so glad they took all the time in the world to write and record this album. not only is Sound n Color better than the debut, but the album showcases just how much the band improved in every single department. vocals, guitars, drums, bass, arrangements and so on. thank you for the great album. and when i mean album, i say that because from the 1st track to the last, there is no letdown
I remember the first time I heard this song. I was so enchanted by what I heard I must have listened to it over and over again like 10 or more times that day.
Alabama Shakes is your typical Vancouver, bc band. Black chick with a white band. A Soul band turing Funk into Rock. Sounding Alternative. Like Etta James meets Coldplay. Genius!
This song helped me threw night shift for a year or two .. maybe since it came out. Not quite sure I'd say since silver linings or around that time I've been religiously listening to them.
She's like that.ive seen her properly 8 or so times and her music is always sounds better live. However I can listen to her albums all day long. Cant wait to see her live in ashville now that she's gone solo
When I think about how underrated this quality of music and genius is today and how the industry has made it so they have to tour 365 days a year for the rest of their lives to make a buck i come to understand why people are running people over in cars.... I apologize for how morbid and crazy our current society has made me and totally realize I’m not the sperm that should have made it.
She's just AMAZING! I wish I could've seen Alabama Shakes. So excited about this solo album! She's like Prince and Janice Joplin; yet still very original! Refreshing to hear something other than the cookie cutter trends!!! Fabulous ARTIST!

i love her ways!!💜🌈
She's gotta great set of pipes!😉
Amazing!
I've never seen a band so in sync. I've listened to only this album for over a month now and it never gets old. Literally fits every mood I could ever be in.
Then you would love the Grateful Dead 💕
Amazing crew of magical magicians who can make music sound so good
Completely agreed. Atmosphere of Marvin Gaye songs with renewed sounds of soul. Amazing and Magic.
No lies told. This belongs in same category as Grammy winning Album that never gets old.

@@jacobevans1970 I know, right? *sigh
Ditto that 🎼🎵🎼
@@JazzyJonasBrittany’s solo albums are amazing too so you can console yourself with that.

You're right, the same for me...
Absolutely agree.
+Cody Oasen Bonnaroo is superb.
YES!!!!
Yes! They always sound better live, the mark of true talent and music.

She is one of the most original and soulful artist to come along in years.. she is a force.. can't wait to see where she goes as her star burns bright.
She got a serious relationship with the guitar. Blows me away.
This song absolutely floors me.

+Giraffe George she's amazing beyond words. :)
Brittany Howard is a gift. ✊🏾
that keeps on giving!!

Brittany Howard is a god.
What is the black fist supposed to mean?
The studio recording doesn't give this song justice. They gave so much on this recording. This woman's raw vocal shine so well live.
that bass player is chilling so hard, they probably don't even need an A/C in that building 1:55
haha this made my day
Yeah, that's my favourite part in the song
He's a precission musician. He don't play more notes than the needed
What's bad about it? you can't do that ..

I love this songs timing and how they express each note, and the singers’ tones...and the feel of each accompanying instrument! Delicious.
this guys are rewriting the history of soul'n rock and roll what a superb band, for Gods sake.
Brittany is so beautiful! The band just sounds amazing! My second fav on the album, Future People first of course. 😊
that harmony at about1:07 is just perfect
that shit was BEAUTIFUL!

Homey Van Smack but man, they are fucking pretty!
them background singers!!!
Brittany is the Queen!!!!! Love this song! Also, I'm loving all these one take videos of the songs. Keep bringing more!!!
This is music, in its simplest form. No static, just pure music. We need more of this.
There's nothing more pleasing to the ear when a band executes well thought of dynamics.
Thank god real music is being made today.

God I love them. They sound so live. She and that guitar are so powerful. Her voice is just the icing on the cake.
I've listened to the Beatles album Abbey Road many times and I'm definitely getting that same vibe from this song.
+James Smith I want you she's so heavy near the end
+James Smith DUDE I was literally just thinking the same thing and then seen your comment.
Wow.....this makes too much sense. Oh Darling!, Don't Let Me Down, etc.
Right! My wife told me exactly this and I say yeah!.. It's got the Abbey Road vibe...
This, and a little "Sticky Fingers" Stones vibe from the guitar.
Her voice is love and power
Now I see why people love this band. They are true Alabama sound and groove with rock and roll. They're the real deal with real music.
This band sounds better in live ! Marvelous and powerful song !
This band is truly a gem in the current music industry.
THIS LADY IS AWESOME LIKE WTF
Goddamn this song hits me in just the best way possible. Such a good feeling. This band is something to behold people. Modern masters!

+David Theisen i had the chance to see them perform at Bonnaroo and it was magical.
+smilealways ah man that's sweet. I burned that show to cd and it plays endlessly in my car.
These Capitol sessions are better than the LP tracks and easily my favorite Shakes recordings. Each one is electrified magic.
God I love this song. & Thank God for Ms. Howard.
Merry Christmas !!!.. Alabama... Hoy aún más necesito tu música...♥️✨✨✨
The whole album is brilliant but this has got to be my favorite track. It's my sip tea and read a book jam.
Everything this band does is golden
she's such a talented woman! can't wait to see them live, such an under appreciated band
Alabama shakes are an absolute joy to listen to.reminds me of the late great Janis Joplin
In the 70's she would be the baddest thing in rock...and the band will be the tightest
Why only 15k likes?! This song is great. Puts my daughter to sleep 🤘😎 This band is keeping blues alive. God bless these people

Ta dah!!!!
However...I DON'T LIKE THEM!
Why? Just curious. It took me a while to start to like them. I had to hear them on the radio a bunch of times first
+G! Force except they're from Alabama, friends from highschool, and play whatever they feel like playing. So... you're way off.

Amazing. I hope they never loose that rocking part and the heavy guitar sounds in their music like so many bands sadly do today.
This is about the best thing in music right now the band is so tight and she is a beautiful voice great songs absolutely great
Anyone else like this version better than the album version? The album version sounds a little slowed down compared to this performance.
yeeeeeah! I love this version.
