@@qsafex Yes but when you see them play all those shows soon after the release of the album, you can see that he got much faster, espescially when you watch the Canada 1986 shows, he got CRAZY fast. So he's still the king of downpicking and metal picking in general.
i just found out about Annihilator. [i know, under a rock, and hopeless. lol] never the less. im fucking obsessed. i had to go on a jeff waters binge to see his licks and watch interviews... heres the deal: im perplexed that he sites metallica and slayer this much. dont get me wrong i dig Metallica and Slayer it seems just as much as Jeff BUT all i keep thinking is... and this is just my own honest commentary in my head.. HAIL JEFF WATERS! I jumped the second i heard him playing Creeping Death because this is also my warmup riff. :D For the record, he plays it even better than Hetfield nowadays.
I'm Jeff Waters Annihilator Fan since 1994 always yours Oscar Pawnee Brave (a MetalGuitarPlayer just like you) especualy for Phoenix Rising and Set the World on Fire.. Thank Bro.. I Wouldl llike to drink a lot of beers with you Thank You for Inspire Me.. See You Bro... Oscar.. .be healthy Goid Bless You Jeff..
The best warmup for downpicking gotta be Master of puppets though. That's the song that, at least personally, if I try to play without warming up, my right hand is already tired by the time I get to the verse 😂 After a few minutes of playing I'm fine though.
Jeff warms up WITH Creeping death, I have to warm up FOR creeping death :P
You said it!
Hellfuckingyeah.
he plays creeping death at 1987 metallica speed as a fucking warm-up, Jeff is a god
First riff; Creeping Death (metallica)
Second riff; Chemical warfare (Slayer)
Third Riff; Rainning Blood (Slayer)
Fourth Riff; Riding the Wind (Judas Priest)
Fifth Riff; Sentinel (Judas Priest)
Then can anyone help me?
Sixth riff; Turn Me On (Accept)
Says "James Hetfield is the king of down-picking", but plays it insanely fast. What a guy...
hes so down to Earth , i love this man
James can play even faster but also even cleaner, so yes, Jeff is right when he says that James is the King of downpicking, because he actually is.
@@thesabbath483 that's a crazy take. James admitted that Master of Puppets was sped up during recording because he was unable at the original BPM.

One of the best heavy metal guitarist of all time. 🙏🙏
The ALMIGHTY Jeff Waters!!
He is so humble he doesn't know it.
Jeff the Guitar Terminator!
he plays incredibly tight
That would be because unlike Hetfield, Waters gets better has he grow older, which is far from being the case with the whole Metallica band.
Not true, dummy
@@Miist3rDuce1 Jesus fucking christ, you comment 10 years later and you call me dummy?
Last one is "Turn Me On" by Accept
Jeff water is one of the very best.
'been an annihilator fan from the git!Jeff's heavies got a tasty melodic angle & the occasional funk riffage!

It's because he was influenced by them. He ran with a similar style of music, just took their techniques to a higher level.
I think you could say, if Metallica and Slayer had crazy Van-Halen style technique, you'd get Annihilator.
down picking hell.....so awesome
Riding on the wind excellent stuff
So the entire W.T.Y.D. solo was based off of The Sentinel? That's fuckin awesome!

He's a guitar god 😇
balld to the wall! Shit, Jeff Waters, in my opinion is the best and fastest guitarrist, and so funny
If you want jeff to warm up to downpicking and triplets just play Iced Earth...Jon Schaffer best rifflord ever exist
!!!!
THE SENTINEL!!!!

what song?
Hammett is guitar beginner compared to Jeff
3 hammets combined would still fail some notes while jeff would solo for 5 minutes without mistake
@Anant RamanKirk is extremely shitty guitarist He cant even play his own solos clear.

Я думаю никто не будет спорить, что ни Metallica, ни Slayer, ни Judas Priest, никогда даже близко так не играли!
Ну судить сложно, так как играют в разных стилях, попросили бы их всех сыграть один рифф, тоода было бы видно
