I currently have 10 desert roses. I have planted in very well draining mix and water every 4-5 days. If it is going to rain and they are not due to be watered, i put them underneath the porch. The reward of getting blooms is so worth it.
Adeniums are also known as desert roses . As the name suggest they belongs to dry region .so they doesn’t require much water .they hold water in their caudex. If you water once a week would be sufficient and keep it in full sunlight .use well drained soil .
@@bonsaipinkcity thank you so much for your prompt reply. I am new to this plant. Any name for the specific soil? How about the rainy season? Do I have to keep them away from rain water? Thanks.
No need to keep away from the rain water until unless it’s heavy rainy season or continuous rainfall .all it needs is a pot with good drainage soil and a big drainage hole underneath, make sure the pot has legs or put some piece of tiles for better breathing and drainage .the bottom of the pot should not be flat and should not be kept on a flat surface else roots can’t breathe and excess water can’t pass through
I prefer using charcoal , coco peat , compost and soil , which will allow better breathing, small pieces of coal will do.get rid of the charcoal powder
