1. Safety and build better than creta and seltos for sure. 2. Seats are really good, and it's genuinely 5 seater with average sized people. Boot space is 400 ltrs but virtually it feels more and can occupy almost anything. 3. Front storage spaces are a bit downer, as no cup holder is provided but not a deal breaker. The deep cool glovebox is good for long journeys as two big bottles can be occupied there but you need to put papers in some waterproof wraps. 4. Infotainment system is mind freaking blowing, the bass boost feature is awesome, it feels like you are sitting in a room with high quality home theater system. Bluetooth connectivity is seamless, maps can be viewed via android auto, android auto is wired so you need to have a mobile mount in the car, if you put mobile in space provided then you need to do overlap with other stuff. 5. NVH levels are good, gear ratios are short like 3rd gear ins 30s, 4th gear in 40s, in 50s 5th gear can make you crawl easily in moderately slow moving traffic, in 4th gear you can crawl in 30s, no frequent gear changes are needed, it has gear shift indicator as well.. The 1st gear acceleration is not that great if you are coming from sedan our hatchback background, like getting off the line is slow, 2nd gear onward acceleration is good. 6. Ride quality is far far far better than creta and seltos, no comparison, Mumbai is famous for potholes and this car consumes every bit of it without any problem. Like those 17 inches 215 profile tyres soak up everything. Like you can see yourself gone in seconds over the bad patches and when you check your rear view mirror all hatchbacks and sedans are like finding better gaps to avoid potholes. It's a beast in that regard. 7. Audio controls are kind of useless, you are not going to use those mostly. 8. Clutch is heavy compared to creta and seltos but then it is not that bad, in bumper to bumper traffic of Mumbai if you get used to it then you will not feel the problem, car pulls itself up in half clutch, but then to reach second gear you should wait a bit as stated above. it's not a quick off the line car. 9. European controls are not a problem as such, I find it better than usual Hyundai styling. 10. Steering is heavy again compared to creta and seltos, but then it gives you the feel that you are connected to the tarmac or gravel below, even the smallest stone can be felt and that gives you a much better feel than electronically stabilized steering, and it is not that bad, you can easily take u turns, easily do sharp overtaking, it's only getting used to it. 11. Nissan connect app is the best feature, it gives you in depth details of your car and it gives you a different experience. 12. Major factor is road presence, people turn their heads to check out the car. In parking people check out the car. In traffic car drivers standing beside check out the car, as it is still not common and looks beautiful. Creta is so common now and that's with seltos as well. 13. Eco mode is something that can give you better mileage but only in terms of a few kms. I prefer not driving in that mode. It is not that enthusiastic. 14. Projector lamps is plus point, for night driving it helps a lot. 16. Auto ac is so good, cools the cabin in minutes, but car is new so maybe after years it may not perform that good as it is with other cars. 17. Hill start assist is there and it gives you assurance on inclined surfaces but it is automatic so sometimes it can fool you, like I was at red light in a very negligible inclined surface and when it was green I thought to move with half clutch but car stalled as brakes were applied due to hill assist. Then I have to adapt a different style. But yeah hill assist works well and helpful feature. 18. No need to talk about 210mm ground clearance, the best feature by all means, we don't give a damn about any kind of speed breakers, I need to cut my hatchback left right on certain speed breakers but this one with full load just glides through. And there are other positive features that you would like for sure, give it a try and maybe test drive it. This is a review from daily kicks driver, my friend owns it and we drive it daily to office for considerable kms to and fro plus it has done some long trips. So, this is a written based on experience.

I own the top model of the Kicks XV premium optional diesel BSIV. It's wonderful car. I have driven 800 km at one go through hilly terrains of Northeast India. It's too good. Excellent riding comfort. Excellent performance in hilly roads. Overall mileage 20 kmpl with Eco mode. Highway mileage as high as 21 kmpl with AC. Yes, clutch and hand brakes were issues initially. Now I am completely used to it. I strongly recommend this car. Far far better than Creta.

Jis tarah ka engine, build quality or dynamics use kia gya hai, price pehle hi kam hai bhai.. Vw,skoda,Ford,nissan,toyota,chevy etc they all have great image outside india and these companies do not provide with gimmick features although they are shifting to provide them now bcz of indian customers. We can compromise on safety but not on features. Indian shud atleast go with tata or mahindra but not for kia/ hyundai/ maruti as there car's build quality is different in india and what they offer outside.
This car is great on the highway but completely agree on the clutch being hard for bumper to bumper traffic. If you get a great deal on Spinny and drive 80% on highway just go for it.

In India its a Hit or Miss at launch, they should have priced it aggressively just a little over Ecosports/Scross & much lower than Creata 1 6 or equivalent to 1.4 with loads of features. There best variant should have been priced at max Rs.13 lacs on Road inclusive of ex Showroom + Insurance & RTO. 2nd best without 360° Camera, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, Nissan Connectivity, led projector headlamps, DRLs etc for Rs.11.5 -7 lacs max & base XED at around 10.5 lacs max for people to take interest & invest in KICKS & Nissan. Presently non of their vehicles are doing well in sales nos. Plus poor service network. To gain trust, confidence & reliability on Nissan Kicks they should have offered 5+5+5 on all variants. Wow creta and seltos asking 4 lakh premium over kicks turbo with less power and torque and absolutely zero drivability and you are asking the pricing to be competitive. No car loterally no car in this segmwnt is providing a turbo charged 156 ps engine for 16 lakhs. With all the safety and essential feature ( apart from sumroof whoch isnof no use and tablet embedded in car dash boards) this car has everything in it. And 360 camera was the first in class feature brought in be seltos lately. No wonder why great car manufacturers leave India. People seems to be too unreasonable

The Build quality of Nissan is better than Kia Seltos or the Creata.. You missed the Nissan Connect feature which is also amazing. Absence of Dead pedal with a hard clutch definitely makes the driveability of the car in cities quiet difficult. Had it been priced a bit lesser, the car could would have definitely succeeded .

Yogiji I think they should put the CVT as they have teased long ago and launched the product in a time when Venue , Seltos and MG Hector was launvhed in the same space also XL6 from maruti which screwed up Nissan launch. They shouldn't waste anymore time and put the autobox immediately as competition has launched with all format and form blazing nissan should really pit and take the feedback what you have given. Yes it is a very compelling vehicle in the segment
I very much agree with you.i drive Nissan sunny quite often,in it too the clutch and steering are so hard and it's horrible to drive in city traffic or bumper to bumper traffic.you definitely need a day break for driving.Nissan should definitely address this issue.other things are fine and I liked Nissan kicks design very much.

1.5 petrol or 1.3 turbo petrol ? Occasionally drives on city trafic but mainly drives in highways.What is your final take.

The Build quality of Nissan is better than Kia Seltos or the Creata.. You missed the Nissan Connect feature which is also amazing. Absence of Dead pedal with a hard clutch definitely makes the driveability of the car in cities quiet difficult. Had it been priced a bit lesser, the car could would have definitely succeeded .
no doubt that this is king in this segment but only concern is we will miss sunroof ... any idea that nissan will add sunroof to kicks in future ?

I m getting it tomorrow xv diesel . I chose it after rejecting seltos as the basic feature like rear wiper was not available in htk seltos.Shame on kia as u will need to shell out Rs 15.50 lacs for rear defogger washer.

Yogiji I think they should put the CVT as they have teased long ago and launched the product in a time when Venue , Seltos and MG Hector was launvhed in the same space also XL6 from maruti which screwed up Nissan launch. They shouldn't waste anymore time and put the autobox immediately as competition has launched with all format and form blazing nissan should really pit and take the feedback what you have given. Yes it is a very compelling vehicle in the segment

I very much agree with you.i drive Nissan sunny quite often,in it too the clutch and steering are so hard and it's horrible to drive in city traffic or bumper to bumper traffic.you definitely need a day break for driving.Nissan should definitely address this issue.other things are fine and I liked Nissan kicks design very much.
