Thanks for making this tutorial, my radio turns on but has no back light or sound. From what I've seen on youtube and elsewhere, these servos/diodes were bad from the factory. Im pretty sure the lights that light the climate control unit buttons also run through this. I ordered a circuit writer marker from amazon and im waiting for it to arrive. Dont ask me why I didn't just go buy one at the store but either way, thank you. Oh, one question, did you just add a bunch of the "ink" at the solder points and across the servo? Couldn't see that well in the video itself?
Why are people posting questions about stereo problems that aren't related to what this gentleman is trying to show in this video? Find a forum some place to ask your questions. I think this comments section is for the video it's related to. Btw.. it would have been extremely helpful if the video wasn't blurry every time you tried to zoom into the one spot showing your actual repair. With that said, I do appreciate the fact that you actually repaired something and didn't just part it out. Great job!
The stereo your showing is on a 03 I have a 04 and it's different inside. I have no power , fuse is good. Battery drain as well, at one time I had to bang on the side of panel to get it to work.
Hello Thanks a lot for the very good video. I have an 2003 Accord that has volume problems. The volume is all the way up to 40 but I do not hear anything. What is your suggestion?
I have an 05 accord. First the radio started scanning thru from am to fm to cm and thru them all about 3 times till it fi ally stopped on 1 then I could put it where i wanted. Then one day it randomly just stopped... No display or volume but the backlight is on. The AC still works just cant see the setting... Now (3 weeks later) I can hear it land on my 1st preset on FM but u can just vaguely hear it... No buttons work on the radio or the steering wheel? Any ideas?

@@kiltropablinho79 I fixed mine by changing the fuse. It was on the wrong place. Check on the fuse box cover to see the exact location on all of the fuses and check if they are ok. Hope that helps you.
@@kiltropablinho79 that doesn't have to do anything with the radio. The fuse box is in your feet, if you are with left-sided driver car(your wheel is on the left side) is on left of your feet. The actual fix for the dead display was the most important part of the video, but obviously his camera resolution was not up to the task. A shame. Most folks just buy a new radio since, I would guess the cost to have it repaired would be the same, or more.
🙄 I'm a woman and this wold be too much for me.. the old cars was easier ,we just needed to change fusil under the dashboard. Now is all this work.. I give up..😭😭😭😭😭 but anyway it was nice .maybe I will try it late.
Thanks for making this in-depth video! i'm in the middle of trying to fix something like this and have tried this fix before on my radio, but used solder instead of nickel like you're using. unfortunately, i couldn't get it to power back on. i'm afraid it possibly advanced into a worse problem possibly. I'm trying to save my specific unit since it's hard finding untouched EX-L radios for the V6-6spd in yards :/
Carl Weezer These radios are known for many problems. Unfortunately they can be pretty difficult to repair. The part repaired in this video is presumably a resistor or fuse, not a heat sink like he said. That component is the most likely to fail when it comes to backlighting. Check nearby capacitors, and make sure the wiring is okay. The light signal on wire can be susceptible to damage.
Does anyone know wht my speakers would be hissing whilst engine is off..? Speakers are on with a very low vol hissing sound; even when car's alarm's activated..
I followed the steps to fix the problem. However after I started the engine, the light only on for two seconds then off again. Do you know what is the reason ? Will that possible the conductive ink are not completely dry. Please advice?
Mochi 360 & Adrenaline Motorsports Racing , This may be an issue with the bridging that you made. It either wasn’t making a good connection, or the high current (high enough to break a connection) broke the connection. It is very possible that your fix just acted like a fuse and blew immediately.

My car was stolen and when it was found the thief had stabbed and cut it in several places. Carved up the steering wheel, stabbed roof, cut ceiling fabric, stabbed the driver's side door several times and now the radio only comes on every now and then. AC controls and display work but sound doesn't come from the speakers. There's also a lag between turning up the volume and it showing on the display (the little bars in the circle).
