On the topic of SMTV… I disliked it basically as soon as I started playing it. I actually ended up watching your video because I respect your opinions on this franchise, and I needed to know like… am I really the only one that doesn’t like this? Like, I’ve developed more respect for what this franchise is and what it represents over time, and V just feels like it’s a whole lot of nothing pretending to be the clever, and imposing storytelling of previous games. Seriously man, Nocturne is this interesting and imposing story about finding yourself at the end of the world. IV is all about being thrust into a world that’s so much bigger than you, and being forced to make decisions that have so much more gravity behind them than you could possibly understand. And then there is V. A game where things happen and you have to save the world because reasons. Also god is dead I guess? And while they explained why that has weight to the plot, it just… really feels like it doesn’t ever have any weight at all. Like even the endings of V feels shallow and meaningless. And not in a philosophically profound way like the endings of 4 or the neutral ending of SJ. It just feels. Empty.
Also, I like IV apocalypse, like a lot, as a stupid fun experience more than anything. Story is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in this series, ESPECIALLY after replaying IV a few times. Like, Flynn, and the return of Walter and Johnathan were like the best parts of that game.
@@EpicMinecraftFailtop 5 SMT titles? 5. Devil Survivor 2, really cool atmosphere, and a mostly very enjoyable cast. 4. Soul Hackers. Very just… fun. I view it as like, a classic rpg experience. 3. Atmosphere, world building, gameplay, like the whole experience is incredibly well handled. And every time I play it, I’m faced with more questions, more curiosities.
