Thank you so much, Kelly, for sharing so much information for those of us who suffer with lymphedema. Could you answer a question for me since I am new to head and neck lymphedema? Will numbing at the dentist office negatively affect the lymphatic system for those of us with head and neck lymphedema?

Can you please do an extended version of this to follow where you do all 15 times for each stretch. I think it would encourage me to do this every morning.

@@CancerRehabPT I live in a rural area in Louisiana and there aren’t medical professionals here who seem to know what to do for me. I had my initial surgery at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, but since that time I have lost my job as a school teacher as well as my health insurance so I am on my own and the suffering is real. I had 123 lymph nodes removed from my neck along with my voice box and thyroid. I have an in dwelling voice prosthesis which allows me to be able to speak. Because I have lost my insurance and went on Medicaid, I suffer the plight of many American citizens who perhaps through no fault of their own find themselves needing care and being unable to attain it. Medicaid refuses to pay for supplies as simply as a cleaning brush to clean mucus from my prosthesis which is really a challenge in the winter months. I can’t get my hands free filters to keep my lungs safe and allow me to breathe and speak some what normally so again I suffer both physically and emotionally. My surgery was 13 1/2 hours and I went through grueling rehabilitation and radiation only to now be at an impasse in my life where Cancer still wins because of bureaucracy who chooses whose life is worthy of being saved and whose isn’t. I was shocked to be diagnosed with laryngeal cancer because I was never a smoker or drinker but I accepted that I had cancer because I am a Christian and promised myself and God that when I went to get my biopsy I would accept whatever God allowed. Now I have no words for people in power and authority who don’t value some of its citizens enough to allow them to simply take a breath free of coughing and or having the feeling of suffocating several times a week. My greatest fear is that I will die from drowning in my own mucus or that my device will get clogged up during my sleep and I won’t be able to get to the mirror with tweezers and a light and pull the sticky and dried mucus from that little hole in my neck (stoma) before I stop breathing for good. This is my daily struggle. I understand that all of humanity (mankind) meets death at some point because dying is a part of life. Useless, unnecessary suffering isn’t. My comfort is knowing that all the precious children whose lives I touched as an educator will live and breathe and hopefully live their best lives because I thought enough to care, love, nurture, and educate them with all the love and training God endowed me with.
I truly didn’t mean to go on about my situation, but I had a great moment of clarity and my breathing was steady so I felt it was a great time to speak my peace and my truth.
Continue to teach PT exercises. I promise you it’s not just noble but necessary. You may have been professionally educated and trained, but to do what you do on UA-cam for others means your vocation was a calling not just an occupation.
From Sandra Moran aka Hezekiah Sparrow, a human being who understands the value and importance of teaching from your heart.

Can this be done on babies? My one-year-old has several lymph nodes that popped up in is neck and I wonder if lymph massage will help him.

How can I reduce the size of the puff under my left arm (pit)? My right side is normal, but the left armpit has puff instead of a pit. I’ve been following you on UA-cam, doing the massage and rebounding, but it doesn’t seem to be reducing in size. What can I do? Thank you

Hello Kelly, I have a relative who has been experiencing chronic cystic acne (pimples) in both of her underarms and both sides of her bikini line. No matter how many things she’s tried, they continue to reoccur. They begin underneath the skin forming into swelled balls and then eventually a “whitehead” appears toward the surface of the skin which she is able to extract. Are there any recommendations you can offer on what it might be or how to stop them from forming?
