It is called "WITHville". You should stop by Mount Airy, NC sometime. They have a lot of Andy Griffith stuff as The Mayberry show was based on Andy Griffiths hometown of Mount Airy, NC We live in Pilot Mountain, NC. Andy referred to it on the show as Mount Pilot. Safe travels!
What a beautiful day for driving! It's always nice to enjoy the view when someone else is driving. 😊 My dog does the same as Bella, she has to stop and smell everything too. Lol I hope everything goes smoothly now with the coachman. You are moving right along. Safe travels to you and Bella!
Antifreeze does more than just help maintain proper temps , it also lubes the water pump. Keeping as close to the recommended mix is important. I loved driving in the Blue Ridge and Smokey mountains . The mornings and at night fall were always beautiful. Safe travels Dave . Stay safe , have fun , give Bella a rub for me . Leaving tonight or in the morning for Florida from KC Mo.
Love it. I've taken that route so many times, for pleasure and work! Always enjoy the views, even more so if I am not driving!! Enjoy seeing it again, it's been awhile!!
The East Mountain River Tunnel on the WV/VA border is just over a mile long and it's BASE jumping on the New River Gorge Bridge, the third Saturday every October, not bungee jumping, you were close!
Great scenery Dave, hope that the overheat was a one of. 🤞parts of North Carolina were destroyed in floods not long ago🙏🏼hope people are getting a lot of help and support. 🙏🏼 Happy travelling , be safe and well 🙋🏼♀️🥰
Love riding along with you heading south , pretty scenery . I am Charleston SC so i enjoy seeing the mountains. Thank you No we don't talk funny down here , y'all do. lol
I was on I64 in Virginia Beach yesterday. Very different from the western end just outside St Louis, MO. Abingdon, VA on I81 has a Cracker Barrel, which is my normal first night going south from Maryland. Be safe.
Other than the couple small areas of West Virginia, traveling south lets you miss most of the tolls. If you drive to Chicago or New York or even the PA Turnpike, you need to take out a small loan to travel.
Hello Dave , nice weather and scenery , once in awhile I will do a 500 mile day IF the conditions are good. I love driving my 40’ diesel pusher. You’re doing good though, no hurry, enjoy the ride. Thanks for sharing, be safe!
I've got a slightly newer, 1993 Winnebago Warrior, 22 foot, same 454 but first year of the TBI, towing my car behind it surprisingly averaged about 9.5mph from Quebec to Ohio this summer, better than I anticipated
We had trouble with our motorhome, 2008 Chevy Express, overheating on steep grades. Someone suggested getting a bigger radiator. My husband found a racecar one. Made the world of difference! Drove all over AZ mountains and no overheating. Also, PA folks talk way funnier than WV folks! 😂 (South AL gal)
We travel from Erie, PA to Shaw AFB in South Carolina several times per year and that Biscuit World on Rt 19 south of Summersville, WV has become our GO TO stop to eat. Was just there on Thursday afternoon.
My kids spend fun weekends with their at Summersville Lake in WV. When going to the beach from southeastern Ohio we pass Mt. Airy on our way to Myrtle Beach via Fayetteville.
My old 87 Southwind’s 454 had a coolant reservoir. I got it really hot on one trip and at our destination I turn the motor off instead of letting it run a little to cool down. It blew coolant out the overflow at least a gallon! I always let it run to cool down some.
This trip brings back years of memories for me traveling from Pittsburgh to Roanoke, Va. and Myrtle Beach, SC. I-64 will take you to Richmond, Va. and further east. It's pronounced "With ville". I'm glad to see you had nice weather for the drive.
A bunch of miles on the Blue Ridge Pky was torn up by huricanne Helene and is still closed. Some may not be reopened as the roadway went down the mountain.
Dave, At 16:05 it sure looked like your Fiesta's hood wasn't closed all the way I envy what your paying for gas, here in Washington it has been around $4 a gallon At 19:27 when passing that semi it sure looked like he started to move into your lane? Safe travels!
Nice video. Don't quite understand why you added water to the radiator, aren't you diluting the coolant? I thought you said you were going to get coolant. Sorry, I blew my engine on my 78 mini Winnie years ago and it did pretty much the same thing as yours. Temp went up suddenly, dropped down to near normal and the head gasket blew. Anyway, glad you're ok now. Please grab a gallon of coolant 😊
Coming down from WNY this same way in two weeks with my dog and cat. My dog jumps up to the TV every time she sees Bella! 😅 I ALWAYS worry with my clearance at 12'4". I know it clears but...😬 Silly me. Thanks for the preview! I'm cutting it kinda close with $$ this year. I get about the same mpg. Can you tell us what your gas cost is when you get to Florida? Enjoy yourself. I know it's a bit lonely going solo.
@16:05 Was the hood popped on the Fiesta? Putting premium in the tank will give you better mileage, believe it or not, and make it pull up those hills better.
Hi Dave. Do you have the Pilot app? You should be able to get .10 off a gallon. You need to go in and check it because you have to click on the deal. Just saying. Works at Love's too I believe. Or maybe it's Flying J....😊
My father helped build the highway up to the New River Gourge Bridge back in the 70's!

thanks Dave, will be traveling with you! Bob
Good travel day! Thanks for taking us along 👍👍
I always like it cloudy when on the move.
Easier on the eyes and the rig runs a bit cooler.

Hi Dave and Bella! I'm enjoying your travels. Stay safe! 😊
I remember when dynamite was used to create the tunnels in West Virginia. Safe travels.
Just missed ya Dave. I explored the New River Gorge area last week. Did the bridge walk, awesome experience. I enjoy watching you and Bella's travels.
So nice to see you again. Beautiful country you are passing through. Take care!

Godspeed as always Dave.
When you got to the Cracker Barrel in Surry County. You’re about 45 minutes from my home.
Nice easy travel day! Cheers! ~M
Enjoying watching your trip! I haven't put water in a radiator since the 60s. 😎 Drifter
Great video….. love the ride with you Dave.x
going up I-77 is not any fun!! Nice KOA in Whythville, VA
Isn't it great getting back on the road again? It's 75 in Parker and sunshine, of course.
We travel from Erie, PA to Shaw AFB in South Carolina several times per year and that Biscuit World on Rt 19 south of Summersville, WV has become our GO TO stop to eat. Was just there on Thursday afternoon.

If I was on that drive when the scenery changed I would have to day "Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore"!
Like the blue plaid shirt...

Thanks for sharing! Be careful!
They still jump from the bridge❤️❤️❤️

Our news says North Carolina at the coast having bad weather. Hope you miss it
🙏
64 goes through my town of Frankfort KY
Peace
🙋♀️🌻 you put some miles in didn’t you👍
You gotta be at least 25 ft. I had to go out and look at mine and they said it was 28. Mines an 85 ford.
Mount Airy is hard to find a level spot I bet.
@16:05 Was the hood popped on the Fiesta? Putting premium in the tank will give you better mileage, believe it or not, and make it pull up those hills better.
48 mph is all she's got!!😂😂😂

Is the car a manual transmission . I would like to tow my honda CRV and am concerned about damage to my automatic transmission
Don't you have a Sun or Ez pass? Or both. I would think you would. So much easier.
Windshield cracked could be stopped and ticketed…
👍
Dave, your EZ pass Would not work at that tollbooth???
PA people talk strange too.
What do you mean people in Virginia talk funny also is is your car hood closed?
You should of stopped and filmed it

What's wrong with me 500 miles in a day is nothing.
No, you don't want to do BRP in a RV
