I love that one does a riff the other jumps in and they just jam for a bit. Also that it’s just them talking and just on their own time it seems like. Cool dudes
My thoughts exactly! Playing such complicated and fast parts, in perfect sync AND most of them just on the fly, without drums or even a metronome or click track is REALLY impressive!! 🤩
I fucking love them, but they're not underrated man. They're on napalm records. Underrated power metal bands are lady beast and greyhawk. Check out their new albums!
Unleash the Archers is an automatic thumbs up! Thanks to Grant and Andrew for the nods to Rhapsody and Angra. Those bands are becooming criminally underrated. 👍👍🔥🔥😉
I love watching guitar giants like these two mess up on riffs. It makes me feel better when I occasionally mess up. Also, I love Andrew's 7 string... So much. Keep rockin' Andrew and Grant!
love this vid. just got into this band about 3 days ago!! ordered Apex and Abyss!! I thought that In This Moment was a tight band....but UTA? They took it to a whole different level!!
Holy crap, I didn't expect to see UTA on Loudwire, but I'm thrilled! \m/ \m/ Love from Seattle. Saw your online release concert the other weekend! Can't wait for things to get back to when you can tour and hope you will drop by your south of the border neighbors!
It's crazy to think I saw and met these guys at some underground venue when they were in Archon Legion, also I got a unleash the archers demo, I think it was from 2009.
I just noticed -- it's been over a year since I suggested Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast as a cover, or Manowar's Kingdom Come as a cover. Regardless if these guys ever did it, the fact I get to hear Dreamcrusher, False Walls, Abyss, and The Wind That Shapes The Land? These guys not only give me new stuff to listen to, but they keep the old stuff, and memories as a kid, alive. So much love and respect for these two, and for the whole band. Now all I want to do is see the band on tour! As Tenacious D would say, COVID almost killed the metal -- but _nothing_ can kill the metal! Stay safe, stay well, you guys, and hope to see you on tour in 2021!
The fact that this band is not the main attraction on any festival is a shame, they should at least be opening for Iron Maiden in Rock and Rio or something like that.
I haven't listened to much of their music, but UTA are really talented. I just listened to "Carry The Flame" last night, and Andrew has a really good singing voice that blends with Brittney's voice really well. I think I'll be checking out more of them.
At 8:03 when Andrew starts playing, I immediately recognized that riff- check out Kalma “Outremer.” Different tempo, but SO similar. I love me some obscure metal. And UTA of course!!!
A kinda similar story for me. Iron Maiden was the catalyst for me too. Back when I was around 11 or 12 me and my cousin would listen to Big Shiny Tunes 5 that had like Sum 41, Blink 182, 3 Doors Down, RHCP, Matthew Good Band etc on it, so that was my start with any form of Rock n Roll. But then I remember being sent The Trooper and The Number of the Beast over MSN Messenger one day and that changed everything, my path towards Melodic Metal was definitely started by Maiden.
I think I'm quite a bit older than you guys, but I was a big alternative fan until someone had me listen to The Flight of Icarus, and there was no turning back.
I feel identified with Andrew haha I would be playing while I'm talking, that is a classic among guitar players, we cannot be quiet if we have a guitar in our hands 😅
This is my first introduction to this band they seem like cool guys. The one in the hat. Not sure his name but does anyone the guitars he uses. I'm definitely gonna have to look into these guys more. They seem like cool dudes.
Test Your Metal, Abyss, Awakening, Apex... Bleh, just listen straight through Apex and then Abyss. But if you want a single song to get you hooked, Awakening is that song. Wait until you hear them with the drummer and singer. They're amazing.
Andrew playing Fury of the Storm is no surprise to me, but pleasant all the same. Daemons of the Astrowaste's album art was done by the same fellow who drew for Dragonforce!
I think we are looking at next gen guitar technical magicians. These guys every riff and every solo makes perfect sense. No tune is out of placement, and that is such rarity in music today. I love everything about this band. And vocal vise Brittney is the first female vocal that i place equal (power and the color of her voice) to the greats such as Bruce Dickinson, Dio or Kiske. Just Great.
All they've done is make me wanna hear some UTA covers of Iron Maiden. My God that'd be perfect and Brittney could pull it off so we'll covering Bruce.
Clearly they have many influences but man if I had to pick one, Iron Maiden. Just from how they sound and how naturally good they are at those duo riffs. Good shit
You guys are insanely good! Iron Maiden is still my favorite band. You guys and Dragonforce are in close contention for second place! And I'm leaning towards you. You're a fantastic tandem!
I wish there was something like called "The GOD of GUITARs" and this god was supposed to find talented ones or the people who deserve guitars to give it to them for free
What are they plugged into? If it's a Loudwire studio man, the channel needs to get real equipment to make these interviews. I mean, they are over a million subs now.
this would be an interesting topic. Elitism in metal is pretty annoying. But jeez man even I catch myself being an elitist sometimes. Example: Fuck Deafheaven. They're just diet depressive suicidal black metal. Everything Deafheaven does has already been done by underground bands nearly 20+ years ago. But whatever, that's just the way she goes.
I kind of feel sorry for anyone who only discovered Iron Maiden in 2001. The first album I ever bought was Iron Maiden's Somewhere in Time. I don't even know what I listened to before that.
Unleash the Archers are my favorite band. Abyss is such a kick-ass album. A band in their prime. And these two guys are fantastic.
I love that one does a riff the other jumps in and they just jam for a bit. Also that it’s just them talking and just on their own time it seems like. Cool dudes
Andrew & Grant compliment each other SO WELL! They are YING & YANG! It's like these two were born to be in a band together.
They are amazing! No one ever talks about how hard it is to play TOGETHER and in SYNC like these guys do at these speeds...
My thoughts exactly! Playing such complicated and fast parts, in perfect sync AND most of them just on the fly, without drums or even a metronome or click track is REALLY impressive!! 🤩
I feel like these guys described the evolution of my music taste as a kid as well as their own.
Their riffs from Faster than Light are explosive. Such an amazing band!
These guys are amazing players, and their vocalist is amazing. These guys would have been bajillionaires 35 years ago.
Criminally underrated band. Such a shame that Nikko left. He's such a beast on bass.
I know. Plus I always felt that he just looked like he fit perfectly too with his hair and beard lol
@@Teddy-pf8yy Doesn't have much to to with looks, but whatever
Oh I know. He definitely is a beast on bass. I don't disagree at all. I was just saying lol
I fucking love them, but they're not underrated man. They're on napalm records. Underrated power metal bands are lady beast and greyhawk. Check out their new albums!
I loved his finger picking style, the only one I’ve seen use/develop it
Unleash the Archers is an automatic thumbs up!
Thanks to Grant and Andrew for the nods to Rhapsody and Angra. Those bands are becooming criminally underrated. 👍👍🔥🔥😉
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
Love you guys ❤️👍
This is one one of my very favorite bands. These guys are great.
"I grew up as a punk kid." I can relate to you, Grant.
Huge UTA fan here loved watching this video thanks for putting this out here for your fans you guys rock
So happy they mentioned both Dreamcrusher and The Wind that Shapes the Land into this video! Two of my absolute favourite UtA tracks!
Both players are amazing !!
Saw these guys do a small show back in 14’. In Sacramento. It was kick ass and my ears were ringing for a week after that night.
So happy they did Crypt and False Walls. Although I pretty much love all their songs lol
I love watching guitar giants like these two mess up on riffs. It makes me feel better when I occasionally mess up. Also, I love Andrew's 7 string... So much. Keep rockin' Andrew and Grant!
Can we get these guys to do a full guitar-only play through of the Abyss album??? Please???
Very and very great guitarists. Talented and amazing players. Their guitar skills adorn the band Unleash The Archers. I love UTA :-).
these two guys are so amazing guitarists. and their band is top of the game.
This video was so helpful for me as a guitarist. These guys are unbelievably talented! UTA forever 🤘
Abyss is phenomenal. All you guys keep up the great work making kick-ass tunes.
Guys you rock, Abyss is great! Keep on! and please do not stop doing your crazy videos!!
I just want a video of Andrew, Scott, Brittany and Grant all together just talking about random shit
While playing video games.
dreamcrusher is one of my favorites songs ever
Glad these guys and this band are starting to get some recognition. Terrific power metal. And Brittney can flat out sing.
love this vid. just got into this band about 3 days ago!! ordered Apex and Abyss!! I thought that In This Moment was a tight band....but UTA? They took it to a whole different level!!
There NEEDS to be a guitar only of all there stuff because god it’s all amazing
U.T.A deserves more attention and they should be big
Damn I love this band! Two of my guitar heroes right there!
That iron maiden rock in Rio concert, January 19, 2001, was my first concert ever. I was 11. I’m very proud of it.
I discovered this band randomly on Spotify and Instantly impressed!! Abyss is great!!
Same
I just discovered that these guys are canadian like myself. That is fucking amazing
You gotta go back to Apex and Time Stands Still. And even the independent albums
Test Your Metal is easily one of the bands best songs
6:32 Spread your fire!!!!
It is amazing. Angra is in my opinion the most underrated band ever i was glad to see they listen to them.
@@XBucefaloX i agree, Angra deserves more.

This band is the real fucking deal
Awwww!! i'm fangirling!!!

Love the Angra influence!
Their guitar tone is amazing! Thick but still cuts.

Killer tone 🤘🤘

Like, Apex was good, but the guitar work on Abyss is brain melting. I'm surprised I haven't got a speeding ticket already!
They are so underrated omg
Much More Music!!!
This is my first introduction to this band they seem like cool guys. The one in the hat. Not sure his name but does anyone the guitars he uses. I'm definitely gonna have to look into these guys more. They seem like cool dudes.
False walls, what an intro riff OMGGG, there needs to be some tabs or lesson online, I really wanna learn a lot of UTA songs man
They have incredible guitar tone!
I know right, so chunk and delicious. It also helps the tone a lot with how clean they’re playing
I have no idea who these guys are and ive never heard of their band but theyre fucking sick players
Test Your Metal, Abyss, Awakening, Apex... Bleh, just listen straight through Apex and then Abyss. But if you want a single song to get you hooked, Awakening is that song. Wait until you hear them with the drummer and singer. They're amazing.
Listen to Faster Than Light, and you'll soon want to listen to their discography
@@GregNoblin i got hooked way back on Time Stands Still. The song, but that whole album is good

Phenomenal band. Top of the food chain musicians.
Yeah,really good.
10:26 Reminded me of the chorus of Bleak by Opeth for a sec.
Clearly they have many influences but man if I had to pick one, Iron Maiden. Just from how they sound and how naturally good they are at those duo riffs. Good shit
they need to release tabs for their songs ... ill fkn buy them ALL
You guys are insanely good! Iron Maiden is still my favorite band. You guys and Dragonforce are in close contention for second place! And I'm leaning towards you. You're a fantastic tandem!
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Can't go wrong with Nirvana or Blink182🤘🤘🤘
TEST YOUR METAAAAAAALLLL WOOOAAAAAHHHHH
Boss MT-2 straight to the mixer?
i shat my pants when they jammed the trooper..
These guys remind me of Dustie and Paul from Btbam
Can we get Dean and Tobi from archspire?
I wish there was something like called "The GOD of GUITARs" and this god was supposed to find talented ones or the people who deserve guitars to give it to them for free
I wish i could play 11:35-11:57. Such a nice sound. I also wish it was more prominent in Afterlife, its kind of hard to hear
Dudes got the bradley hall guitar
up the irons!!
Can anyone make out the logo on Andrew’s hat? I’m squinting and it’s driving me crazy.
It's a Tiberis Merge hat. They're a local band from BC Canada
2:51 What riff is this from??
What guitar is the red haired guy playing?
Surprised they didn't play the theme tune of The Archers.
They dis, from the new album, faster than light and afterlife .
@@miksobrado They covered the theme tune of the long running radio 4 tale of country folk?
Keith lemons got some chops.
"The Wind.."
"Soulbound"
"Afterlife"
10:15 on....
I'm fighting for Abyss>Apex,
this video might be my best ammunition!
What are they plugged into? If it's a Loudwire studio man, the channel needs to get real equipment to make these interviews. I mean, they are over a million subs now.
UtA is top notch, but you know they are eluding to Archon Legion Kappa
Something oddly funny about Blink 182 on a 7 string.
was looking for this comment! i kinda liked it
So this is what Jon Smith does when he's not with Funhaus haha
Yo you guys should make a video on elitism in the metal community.
this would be an interesting topic.
So basically you were introduced to REAL Metal lol
I kind of feel sorry for anyone who only discovered Iron Maiden in 2001.
The first album I ever bought was Iron Maiden's Somewhere in Time. I don't even know what I listened to before that.
30 year old people were around 10 then. They are both 30 something
My first was the one that had bruce coming coming back in 2000 I believe, and was surprised how different they sounded on their 80s albums
Never heard of her.
nahhhh these guys can't be band mates for the past 10 years... nahh those on the spot harmonics can't be family sort of love syncing up
Who? 🤔🤷♂️
