  • I restored an old set of Hadley No.765 Air Horns. These were originally used on Deuce and a half trucks, and also Jeeps. The brass diaphragm was broken, so I made a new one from half hard brass, and then vapor blasted them. Sounds good again. 127 decibel max output.

Thanks. I've been busy blasting others parts. As they say, the plumber's house is the one with the leaks.

Nice result! Is the screw setting in the back to set the pitch?

It does to some degree, but the length of the horn also plays a part. The screw has to be set to a certain depth, otherwise the diaphragm won't resonate.

Ah another AD video! Again, no notifications, I just decided to check your channel and there it is. Maybe it's ESP? Brad is that you playing the intro music?

Yeah, they're not good at notifications. It's not me playing the guitar, but that's a good idea.

I'll tell you when the pain begins..it's after working 14 hours with your neck and head in one position looking into a blasting cabinet all day.
Worried that you might start getting pressure fractures in your spine and not even know it !!
