I moved to Mount Dora a little over a year ago after being in the Orlando area for decades. BEST decision I ever made. Absolutely love living in Mount Dora. One thing you kind of explained that makes it so fantastic is the downtown is free of chains. It's all independent businesses. You won't see a Starbucks or a McDonalds or a Walgreens downtown anywhere. But, just 5 minutes away on 441 you have all the normal stuff: groceries, big box hardware, chains, etc. Downtown Mount Dora is a magical place.
Pete Wesenberg, I live at one of the towns bordering Mount Dora, and I'm trying to sell stuff that I can't take with me when I move out of my current house. Will you please ask your friends (if you have any) if they'd be interested in buying any of the following things... - any particular movie DVD for $5 - any particular movie Blu-ray for $10 - any particular PS3 game for $10 - any particular kind of clothing for $15 - any particular PS4 game for $20 ... and tell me if you know anyone who's interested in something, so I can explain how they can contact me?
Lived in Mt Dora Sullivan Ranch for about a year. Leaving was one of the hardest things we ever did. Just love downtown Mt Dora, the Farmer’s Market at the lake… wonderful place.
Ken, your videos are just the best. Really well done. I've been watching all of them. Thanks for bringing such quality to the business, many other realtors should learn from you. Mt. Dora is really a great place to live or visit. The best thing about Mt. Dora is the people, everyone is very friendly and it has a small town atmosphere in which everyone seems to know you. People will talk with you at Starbucks or in your visit to Publix. Very nice place if you don't want to be too close to the city.
The Salted Fry doesn't just sell fries, it's a gluten free eatery with awesome sandwiches and panini's and wine slushies! Glad you mentioned them though.
Came across this video as I'm massively homesick. I wish you could of highlighted the goblin market, since it was in the opening scene. The best restaurant hands down. P.s. the chain stores are literally a 5 minute drive away.

@@CC-tf3ez Its so quaint and has alot too offer!! Mt. Dora is a tourist attraction for sure. The lights at Christmas, the antiques at the flea market. If you love the small town feel its definitely a location you will love. And alot of great area's to purchase a home. As with any town at all, Theres questionable places. But totally worth it.

@@stephanieascher6988 I lived in the Twin Cities but am from S. FL. ( I'm back here again now ) . In the summer months the heat AND humidity are stifling. Coming down to FL is an option, but you will long for fall and even a little snow
Looks like a great town. Curious how safe it is to live there? Or if some parts are better than others? Planning to move to FL soon and trying to get some input on towns in central FL, Mount Dora is definitely on my list!

How do you feel about the safety in town? Is there a part of town that’s better than others? Asking because I’m thinking of buying there 🙂
