They are pretty clever, too, knowing that the more the traditionalists leave, the more they cement their carnal authority. "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." And the world wonders why mainline churches are rapidly declining. They offer no LIVING WATER, merely some generic, feel-good pablum which has no eternal significance. God bless you, sister, and may He continue to uphold you in your earnest meanness. Isaiah 40:31 🙂 Take some comfort in knowing that John Wesley would face a hard time in conference, too. Some modern day Sadducee bishops pick and choose what parts of the Book of Discipline they obey just as readily as they pick and choose scripture . 2 Corinthians 6:17
