The most in depth video of replacing these tight Acura MDX head lights I have ever ever Seen!! I am going to tell my dealership, remove this bulb replacement from the list. Thank you so much guys.
Thanks for showing how to do this in detail. Called Pep Boys and they want $500 to replace both low beams on my 2012 MDX. Not paying that for a 12 year old vehicle unless I have to. Thanks to your video I installed this myself for less than $100
That’s what happens to my friend as well. I told him HELL NO. Come to my place imma figure it out. And all you got to do is buy the bulbs and let me film it. He was like “aight bet”. And the rest is video history lol.
I have a 2013 RDX with HID lights and want to change to LED. There's a warning on the grey cap that says something like "25000 volts, it can kill you, see service manual". I saw you just reached in there to remove the bulb. Obviously you didn't get electrocuted. Is there anything to look out for and not touch?
Just make sure the light is off when you do that. The car was off for a good 20min before I even reach on there so no worries. You will be okay. Make sure the light is off.
Brother... I am glad you did this video. I am at the crossroad and have decided to go D2S to LED, since my ballasts slowly died..I just bought new headlamp assemblies, front L and R, so i wanted to see if LED low beams would be a better investment than spending another $1k on ballasts and igniters. Give us an update please...like how's your headlight beam pattern? Is it an improvement in light output vs xenon? Any fault codes? Melted headlight wiring or housing? Any night driving video review?
You are right my friend did not want to spend that kind of money either and we tried the LED but the back was so bulky it didn’t fit into the housing. But my friend love it. I will try to get some night time video and show you the cut off soon. And also if their is any burn spot or wires issue.
The Resistor are for the side markers that was converter over to Switch back so now the side marker can stay on and also switch back to turn signals as well. The resistors are not for the Shocks .
Did high beam or daytime running lights cause an issue that would require the use of resistors? My friend has an mdx and expressed the possibility of upgrading to LED. So I’m wondering of resistors are need for the high beam and daytime running lights.
@@JP-vy1im nope, the high beams work just fine. he problem with the LED is that they have such a big back where the fan is located, I am not able to put the buld in and also close the cap. That is why we decided to go with that type of bulbs. If you can find a set of LED bulbs that would fit please let me know.
Hello chris, I think that lights is part of the parking lights. The light bulbs size is T10 I have also replaced it with a White one from LastFit. It looks really good if you are interested let me know. I can get you a 10% discount
At the bottom. You have fog lights and DRL then on the Top you had running lights, the very top is turns signal. Bottom of that you have low beams. Next to the low beams, on the right you have high beams. That’s how they are positions. I also setup the turn signal as a switch back from running lights to turn signals. I have a videos on the install as well.
I agree bro I could not find the LED when I was buying them. The back was always way too big and was Not fitting Into the Housing Properly. Two years later I was able to find the bulbs and I replaced them right away.
Easier on my 2012 theres a twist cap instead of the boot twist too the left and pinch the plug off pinch the clampsaround the bulb pull it out insert new notch up. Didnt even have too take off the center support cover or power steering bracket. THANKS
If there is a more asinine screwed up way to replace a simple headlight bulb in my 50 years as a gear head I haven't seen one. Jaysus what a waste of time

Those resistors you have on each side, did you convert the shocks from electronic to base version?
The Resistor are for the side markers that was converter over to Switch back so now the side marker can stay on and also switch back to turn signals as well. The resistors are not for the Shocks .

What’s the light that is next to the orange marked called ? Is that the lowbeams?

Those aren’t the low beams or high beams so what are they? Daytime running lights are at the bottom by fog lights? Hmmm

Does those bulbs last pretty long hours?
Yes they lasted very long. My friend dont have the car anymore so I am not sure.
@@CarStomIt yes sir, thank you
Next time install LEDs bro. They blow HIDs away! Just did my 2010 and am very happy with the brightness

BTW Thats' directed towards the einstein that designed the light not the video. Thank you CarStomit
It’s extremely difficult to change it. I can believe they did not think about this… maybe those bulbs were not designed to be. Changed.
