We are back out at the Jungle 2.0 lot after 1 whole year of growth. It is severely overgrown but fortunately the MTL XCT made short work of this jungle nightmare!

I can't believe how fast the vegetation grows there. Out here in my area of CA, we are quite dry. Not much grows here unless it is watered. Great work cleaning up the lot!
Yeah unmaintained areas can get overgrown quickly here in my area. Gotta constantly stay on top of that stuff!

I agree with you 100%. Safety is paramount with that brush head. That thing can throw stuff a LONG distance, and the last thing you need 8snto hurt someone, or cause property damage. The lot came out looking terrific. I'm happy you've got your Deere back (I'm sure you are too). I really enjoy your videos.

Good video brother. Glad you got the Deere back, now it’s time to put it to work to pay for the repair. Safety of everyone is the utmost priority. Hell I’ve launched a baseball size rock at least 100 feet and i heard it when it landed. I thought to myself thank good that wasn’t next to the road and no car was there, cause they would have been hurt really bad.

You again answered my question of why you back up versus turning around. And also as to why sometimes you lower mulcher while backing up and sometimes you don't. Guess has to do with how dense the vegetation is and size of saplings . Thank you . Learning a lot!

I went back and watched the video from last year, and this seemed like a walk in the park. A job well done! 👍👍 i propose that you christen this lot with a new name instead of the 'jungle lot'. Since it rains when you work there, it should now be known as 'the rain lot'. ☔ 😀
Glad to see the Deere back in action. Are there any warranties on those new replacement drives? Have to factor in repair costs in any business. I enjoyed your Utility Show video. Louisville was awesome! The expo was insane, so much cool stuff to see and Louisville is a really cool town. Really enjoyed it there in Louisville, was almost sad to leave. Mysti was like "can we move here?" LOL! Yes the final drives have a 1 year, unlimited hour warranty so I was really happy to hear that when they started fixing it! Thanks Jeff!

Nice work and good safe work.the backing up is a must .you would ha e law suits up the Ying yang throwing chunk's of wood into cars passing by and who knows what else so better to be cautious and safe then to try to do it faster and more dangerously.

As someone that owns a bobcat with a 5ft brush hog , your not kidding when you say they throw stuff
This area would make a nice mini farm for growing vegetables. Some inner trees might have to come down, but the ground is obviously rich. 🥦🍆🥬🌶🌽🍒🍓🥕🍅🍉🥒🍐
My theory would be to cut the interior first, leaving bushes around the perimeter to catch any thrown chips. Then do the perimeter line last, making it much easier to see.
Great point Ron! I actually used this method with I cut this lot the first time and it worked great. If the growth would have been taller I would have done it that way again but it wasn't tall enough really this time around. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@IdigIt4 - you ever travel? My yard is in need of reclamation. Have had two sessions so far since buying my house in 2019 but could use a good bush hogging even still. Japanese Ivy is no joke.
The new final drives are expensive but look on the bright side if something happens to the drives while under warranty you get one or the other or heaven for bid both you get them fixed or replaced for free

If you've never run a front discharge bush hog you probably won't understand why the direction is so important.
Why do you trim some trees ridding them of vines but not all trees? And, can you get a little bit closer to the trees without putting your equipment at risk? It maybe would look a bit better. I love this channel and watching you handle business!

It looks like you need to raise the blade on the mower. All your doing is leaving the ground bare. A good steady rain will wash all the dirt away
Looks like the original mulch bed from a year ago is still the bottom layer - is that right?
Yes James! Yeah alot of it from last year is still there, mostly due to the fact there was so much material that I mulched the first time I mulched this lot and that fact that alot of it was fairly large material. Thanks for watching!
Good work, grab yourself a owners manual and stay on top of the maintenance. Those toys are expensive.....
I try to do my best but some things I am still learning. But it was just one of those hidden things that I never caught and it ended up being a problem unfortunately

If you overlap your mulcher passes a bit more maybe the mulcher would not miss things and maybe you wouldn't have to go back and remulch.
How come you don't just turn around and come back with mower? Seems would save on gas and time.
how would a forestry disc mulcher work on something like that, might make a good video lol
It would have worked fine, but the disc mulchers are even worse for throwing stuff than the rotary cutters like this so you would have to be even more careful!
Theres not enough hrs in the day to watch you cut this one.
How come you don’t cut diagonal? That you could cut up and back without hitting anything, the way you were cutting you had that big house looking right at you, those rocks might put one right threw the window.
I don't like going diagional, it gets kinda difficult in these lots due to the way they are shaped and the trees. That's a vacant office building and the hedges help with keeping stuff out of the parking lot. It is a risk but fairly small.
Its all fun and games until someone gets an eye put out. Or a rock,stick or other debris thru an open car window. Anything is possible even under insurmountable odds. Nothing wrong with considering safety.

I'm trying to figure out how the natural growth is a city violation on a undeveloped piece of land? Do these city employees have to much time on their hands.
The city ordinances state the lots have to be mowed and maintained. I just do what I'm told LOL
@@idigit4967 I understand your doing your job! It just doesn't make sense a undeveloped piece of land can't have a natural look. That machine you use is cool it breaks down all the over growth for fuel for next years growth. LOL 😆
As the saying goes it’s mechanical gonna wear out break down sooner or later.
Yeah, it didn't help that the oil in the hubs slowly leaked out but yeah all final drives will eventually wear out.
