A data warehouse is a single source of truth. It contains all the data of a company. It is a source of information. The features of the data warehouse are: 1. Non Volatile: meaning data once stored will not go away. 2. Summarized: The data is processed, segmented and stored so that analytics tool can use them 3. Time Variant: It stores data for a period of time. It also contains historical data. 4. Integrated: It has work with various analytics and reporting tools. 5. Subject Oriented: Its stores data related to a subject. Data Warehouses are used for analysis and reporting and various analysis and reporting tools use data from the warehouse.
Great insights on data warehousing! Understanding its role in centralizing and analyzing large datasets is crucial for informed decision-making. Thanks for sharing this valuable information!
You said that data warehouse is the single source of truth. But if the company has some other data which they want to store elsewhere then how and why would data warehouse be the single source of truth??
Because that's their fault for not using the data warehouse. Not the data warehouse fault for not being given it. If a company wishes to store data in more than one place it's essential to either have a copy in the warehouse or sync the two up. If a company doesn't wish to do this, then it's just bad practice not the fault of the warehouse.
To my knowledge the aspect of summarized refers more to a higher level DW/ Data mart, right? The base DW should naturally have a very granular level in order to enable as many different operations on top as possible.
Bro it's simple don't worry . Every data will be stored in database using DBMS (Database Management System or any other software) Software in a hard drive storage. These databases are then stored in a data warehouse . Databases are like books and data warehouse is a rack . Imagine you are placing all those books in a rack .
What if I want to retrieve different versions of the data, like I may need to have some previous dataset which was modified by now. Can I retrieve it from a data warehouse?
data warehouse final final really final ??? what is the single source of data truth subject oriented: only interested data integrated: common standard time variant: historical data nonvolatile: can not be changrd or deleted summarized
I guess there is a data insecurity for competitive markets and buyers in data warehousing bcz no one should be willing to share final spreadsheets,am I correct?

This comment helped me,,
Thanks a lot!
thanks
Thank u so much bro because I translate it 🙏🏻🌸
the idea of a place that have a subject standard with history .can expanded to a lot of things like personal life . amazing !
In datawarehusing we call it as single source but in MDM we call it as best version of truth. good content
Simple, Clear and Accurate!
What is the exact university specialization to study data warehouse

Great Explanation in just 3 minutes ! woah !!!!

This is amazing...and so easy to digest for someone who is new to the terms
Excellent! Very good! Keep it up!
Data warehousing is really one of the hottest topics in data science
It is!
so... is it like a personal software or something of a company that allows access to its data? like, what does it "look" like?
I'm also wondering this and I don't know why it's so hard to find the answer to this on the net.
Apache Hive is an example of a data warehouse software.
Thank you!
that was really funny explaining, thanks)
Higly informative and excellent presentation.

thank you this was v. helpful
Which software you are using to edit videos
Explained well pal

I've watched 2833875 videos explaining what a data warehouse is and I still don't know if it's physical or just a drive

@@collegehustler2001 IS IT PHYSICAL OR JUST A DRIVE
@@ravenswood118 I think you don't have basics my brother hard drive means it's a physical device where you can store software or any data
@@ravenswood118 WHY THE FUCK WOULD WE BE TALKING ABOUT A PHYSICAL WAREHOUSE IN A COMPUTER SCIENCE TOPIC WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU

Many thanks
Thankyou sir
Please make a video on how to become data analyst/scientist or business analyst in Pakistan?
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
thanks !!!
What is the exact university specialization to study data warehouse
Thank you for this 💖
very helpful explanation
Glad you think so!
What is historical data in data warehousing?
Very informative. Thanks for the great content.
Thank you!
Love it!
Thanks!!
Very informative content as always!
Much appreciated!
Do u hv data warehouse course or certification?
really final final is so true 😂
thanks
yes
Nice!
Thanks!
Good
So... it's a database?
Yes, Kind of! Only Used for Analytics and No Modification are allowed.
Dwh is per definition not the single source of truth as it usually makes copy of data. The source of the data is always the truth and not the copy.
Does 365 Data Science have any Data Governance and Data Stewardship course?
superbbbbbb
data warehouse
final final really final ???
what is the single source of data truth
subject oriented: only interested data
integrated: common standard
time variant: historical data
nonvolatile: can not be changrd or deleted
summarized
i'd go {final , final1, final2 ..}
Why you are telling that data warehousing is hardest topic in your intro.🤔
I guess there is a data insecurity for competitive markets and buyers in data warehousing bcz no one should be willing to share final spreadsheets,am I correct?
We needs practice, not just a teori
The single source of truth is god. God is information of all kinds.
Is it just me or does he sound like Frodan
